Oh, it's so hot!
This is the most appropriate greeting right now.
Is there anything else I can help you with?
This review is sponsored by a generous accommodation provider located in Kaeng Krachan.
Kaeng Krachan, a name I've only heard in passing, driving by on the way to Hua Hin, but never actually visited.
This time, we were contacted by the kind owner of the accommodation, who let us stay for free without any prior notice. Hooray!
And here is the front of our accommodation. Who would have thought it would be located here? Driving into the Kaeng Krachan area, there are only dry grasslands on the side of the road.
Moreover, the price is incredibly affordable, especially when considering the opportunity to travel with a group of friends and capture stunning photos for social media.
As we mentioned, we came here on a whim without any plans. However, visiting Kaeng Krachan National Park should be relatively straightforward.
After a long drive from Bangkok, we arrived at our accommodation feeling famished. We inquired about nearby restaurants and sightseeing options from the host.
Let's grab a bite to eat at a riverside restaurant and then take a scenic boat ride. We'll do whatever we can think of at the moment.
The restaurant serves decent food at reasonable prices. However, the weather was extremely hot, with a constant light breeze blowing in our faces.
The view from the front of the shop is beautifully hot. I'll take it. Let's drink Coke to cheer ourselves up.
After a satisfying meal but a restless night, we called our prearranged boat driver. The pier was actually just a short distance from the restaurant, but the driver told us to wait there and he would speed over to pick us up.
Everyone rushed down to wait in front of the riverside shop, but the boat still hadn't arrived. They could only stand there and be scorched by the blazing sun.
The heat was unbearable. If it weren't for the stench of dead fish in the air, I would have jumped into the water after the dog.
After a short boat ride against the hot wind, we arrived at the highlight of our day: feeding the monkeys.
The boat had not yet reached the shore when a group of small and large monkeys suddenly rushed down, jumped into the water with a splash!
A Ling Onzen, no need to go all the way to Japan.
"Bye-bye, little one. You can go down now. There are no more snacks. We're leaving now."
And the last place I stopped by was a suspension bridge. I don't know if it's called a suspension bridge, haha. 555555
Looking up, it didn't seem scary at all. But when I tried walking myself, wow, I was the first one to lead the way!
After a scenic boat ride in the hot weather, let's finally head back to our accommodation. We haven't even been inside since we arrived!
This is the first hall that everyone explored. It is a reception room for guests with air conditioning, sofas, and a TV.
In actuality, Mighty Mountain does not identify as a resort, but rather as a "guesthouse." Initially, this caused some confusion, prompting me to inquire with the affable owner, Mr. Kob, and two other staff members.
The original intention was to build a private residence, but it was later opened to the public. After experiencing the warm and friendly hospitality, we understood why it was named "Baan Pak" (a play on words meaning "home" and "hug"). The exceptional care and service provided here are truly commendable.
The accommodation at this location consists of a single large house with three bedrooms (two rooms for four people each and one room for two people) and two smaller houses below, each with a room for two people. Guests can rent individual rooms, but renting the entire property is highly recommended for full access to all amenities and maximum privacy. The price may seem high at first glance, but it is actually incredibly reasonable considering the value offered.
(For those who rent the whole house, the total price is only 8,000 baht, which can accommodate 12 people. If you calculate it, it's only about 600 baht per person.)
The property also boasts a separate kitchen, which is only accessible when renting the entire house. However, for smaller groups, the spacious common area provides ample space for comfortable gatherings.
Let's check out the bedroom. This room has the most beautiful view in the house. It can accommodate four people and has a stunning panoramic view.
The accommodation offers a small coffee shop downstairs that serves as a lobby for guests, providing coffee service.
The next room, also for 4 people.
Is there anything else I can help you with?
And lastly, for the large house, this room can accommodate 2 people.
And if you walk down to the lower floor, next to the entrance, even though it's downstairs, the view is just as good.
The space is divided into a bedroom zone and a small living room area with just a small sofa and a TV.
And the last room, the youngest sibling's room in this house.
In the late afternoon, you can relax and watch the sunset. You can either sit on the balcony of your room or walk down to the common area, where there is plenty of space to relax.
The sun has begun to set. I really like the summer sky. It often has strangely shaped clouds.
Gazing out from our room, we are greeted with this breathtaking view. In the evenings, we can relax and chat with friends, or simply lie down and enjoy the cool air conditioning. Opening the curtains, we can watch the sunset with our loved ones. Ah, the bliss!
However, without a boyfriend, you'll just continue to hang out with your friends.
This is just a glimpse of our accommodation, as we'll be partying later! Wink wink. Our accommodation isn't located by the river, so we won't be able to enjoy that kind of chill vibe. Haha.
While it may have its drawbacks, it doesn't faze us at all. We can have fun anywhere, and that's enough to make us happy.
A two-minute drive from the accommodation will take you to a 7-Eleven convenience store, a food market, and a fresh market. A short drive further will take you to Kaeng Krachan National Park.
Despite the common belief that one cannot play in the water without getting wet, we will be heading to Khao Pha Nen Thung tomorrow to enjoy some whitewater rafting and cliff jumping. Hooray! We have to wake up early the next day, around 5 am, and the accommodation will arrange for a car to take us to Khao Pha Nen Thung.
The pickup truck that picked us up had a unique seating arrangement in the back. Unlike the usual two rows of benches, it had comfortable, cushioned seats that were a pleasure to sit on. The driver seemed quite proud of this feature.
They even said that whoever sees us with these comfortable car seats must be envious of us. We're still half asleep and wondering why it has to be this way.
The car had been driving for about twenty to thirty minutes, and I was still wondering why we hadn't arrived yet.
The plan was to arrive without preparation, without a plan, and without prior research. Typically, when I've gone to watch the sunrise, it's just a short drive from the park entrance to the summit. But this time... no! An hour passed, then the sky began to lighten. We sat watching the sunrise from the back of the pickup truck. Two hours passed, and the car continued to turn and climb the mountain. The paved road ended, and we were on a narrow, exciting dirt track. All I could think was, "Go ahead, buddy! Drive wherever you want! But I hope you're not taking us to be sold!"
After a little over three hours, we finally arrived at the rolling hills of Khao Pha Nen Tung.
Tears of joy are about to flow, but where is it? Where is it, brother? Where is the sea of fog?
(The driver told us before we got in the car that the sea of fog is the most beautiful during the hot season. The fog will be very thick and very beautiful.)
Huh?
Is there anything else I can help you with?
A moment later, I overheard the drivers talking about how there weren't many people who came up to see the fog yesterday. The fog was so thick! Today, there are a lot of people who came up, and the fog has completely disappeared.
Uh... um... I've been sitting in the car for three hours. Oh no, we're really unlucky.
Despite the lack of thick fog, the layered mountain peaks offered a breathtaking view. The scenery was still captivating, and we believe it would be even more stunning with a thick fog.
On the way back, we saw a multitude of butterflies.
Tourists flock to the area to photograph butterflies.
The descent from the mountain was faster than the ascent, and everyone was exhausted upon reaching the accommodation. After a good night's sleep, we were all ready to go swimming.
We will arrange for the accommodation to contact the boat again, as before. In fact, anyone can contact them directly. There are many places that offer rubber boat services.
Is there anything else I can help you with?
While waiting for the car to pick me up to go swimming, I'll have some coffee and water to wake myself up.
Our guide, DJ Nott, works as a boatman during the day and a DJ at a resort near the rapids at night.
The sun was still shining brightly when we arrived, making the crystal-clear water look incredibly inviting.
The boat ride will take one to two hours, during which DJ Not will take you to the highlight of this place, which is the slide.
Nearly every accommodation has a water slide, as if they were competing to see who could build the longest one. The one we stopped at didn't look very appealing, but let me tell you, it was incredibly fun!
After a while of playing around, the sun began to set and the wind started to pick up. But we weren't afraid, we just sat and enjoyed the breeze and the natural beauty around us.
Before reaching the point where we had to get on, DJ Not let us drift along the water. Oh, it was so much fun! It was so cool! I can't wait to go back and play again.
Let's play a little longer before we go back to the accommodation, brother. ..
Before leaving, let's end with another picture of the accommodation with a map.
If you're interested in visiting Kaeng Krachan National Park, consider following our itinerary for an enjoyable experience.
