Following the recent long holiday weekend, many people have witnessed tourist attractions overflowing with visitors seeking relaxation. The influx of people has resulted in severe traffic congestion, with queues stretching for kilometers. (Perhaps they were tired of the traffic jams around Ladprao and wanted to experience gridlock on a mountain instead.) Even popular tourist destinations become unbearable on ordinary weekends, leaving us feeling weary and opting to stay home instead.

Though good people still exist in Ayutthaya, Khao Kho remains a peaceful zone. (Note: The rhyme scheme is not perfect.)

Some.mile offers a great alternative for those who are tired of purple and red houses but want to sleep with a view of the green mountains.

We are going camping at Khao Kho Boutique Camp.

Forget all the hardships of sleeping in a tent, because this place is super comfortable (the bed is better than at home)! Every tent has a comfortable mattress and warm duvet, and electricity is provided. Most importantly, there is an extension cord that reaches the bedside, so you can stay connected with nature and Facebook all night long.

The bathroom is a shared space that blends seamlessly with nature. Instead of a solid door, it has a canvas curtain for privacy, creating a true camping-in-the-wild experience. For those who prefer an open-air experience, feel free to leave the curtain open while showering (although be prepared to become a legend among your friends).

The highlight of camping is the campfire. Here, they have a grill right in front of the tent, so you can grill a whole pig or cow with ease.

Another activity here that is incredibly charming is taking a ride on an "e-taen" (a type of Thai tractor) up to a hilltop to enjoy the sunset. This was my first time riding an e-taen, and it was an unforgettable experience. The owner told us that we could bring snacks to enjoy on top, so we decided to grill some pork belly and corn. (What? Pork belly as a snack? That's our kind of snack!)

Riding in the back of a Songthaew for about half an hour, the beautiful scenery and fresh air made me forget that I was in the crowded Khao Kho.

As we reached our destination, the sun was setting. Our guide, Uncle Kai, promptly set up the stove and prepared for us to grill snacks.

The viewpoint here is stunningly beautiful. More importantly, it is not crowded, and there are no trendy coffee shops open here yet (haha). This allows us to fully immerse ourselves in the natural atmosphere without any artificiality. Haha, it's truly touching.

As the sky darkened and a chilly wind began to bite (our host had warned us to bring warm clothes, but who was listening?), we rode our trusty e-tan down into the darkness to our campsite for the night.

Before arriving, we stopped by Makro in Petchabun city to buy fresh food and snacks, so we wouldn't have to lug everything from Bangkok. We also brought our own mortar and pestle, pots, and pans. I told you we were going camping, you know, camping!

This campsite welcomes loud noises (within reason, of course, to avoid upsetting your neighbors). We've tested both soprano and double bass, and the sound barely reaches other tents. The surrounding fields seem to absorb the noise. However, please refrain from making loud noises inside your tent, as the sound will reverberate far and wide. So, let's all camp responsibly and be mindful of those around us.

//Note: The tent you see in the picture was decorated by us for Halloween. We cleaned everything up before leaving, so please don't worry.

..............................................

There's nothing better than waking up to the gentle warmth of the sun on your skin, amidst the cool mist and dew clinging to the blades of grass. Opening the tent door and sitting down to breathe in the fresh air, without even needing to fill in your eyebrows. Taking a deep breath and gazing at the green mountains ahead, playing some soft music from your phone, sipping warm coffee, and thinking about you. Ahhh...
