Greetings! Following our previous exploration of the north, we now embark on a journey to the eastern seaboard, specifically the idyllic Koh Kood, renowned as the "Paradise of the Eastern Andaman." Boasting crystal-clear turquoise waters rivaling those of the southern seas, Koh Kood offers a haven of tranquility. During our stay at To the Sea Koh Kood, a beachfront resort with breathtaking vistas, we discovered an abundance of picturesque corners and engaging activities to fill our three-day, two-night sojourn.
Our journey began with a private car ride from our home near Bangna. We took the motorway and followed the Kaeng Hang route to Trat Province, heading straight to Laem Sok Pier (approximately 4-5 hours drive). Upon arrival at the pier, we were presented with a variety of ferry companies to choose from. Boonsiri, a large ferry with air conditioning, charged 500 baht per person per trip, while Koh Kood Express charged 350 baht per person per trip. We opted for Boonsiri this time because our arrival at the pier coincided with the departure time of their next ferry. The first ferry departed at 10:45 AM.
As soon as we boarded the boat, we immediately started looking for seats. The interior of the boat was spacious and the air conditioning was cool and comfortable.
The journey from Laem Sok Pier to Koh Kood takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, arriving at Ao Salad Pier, the main pier on Koh Kood.
Upon disembarking, several songthaews (shared taxis) will be waiting to transport tourists. You can inquire about which one goes to your resort. The fare is included in the boat ticket, so there is no additional charge. The songthaew will then drive you to your resort along a shared route. The journey takes approximately 20 minutes to reach To the Sea the resort koh kood, located in Ao Bang Bao Bay.
Upon arrival at the resort, guests are greeted by staff who assist with luggage.
Upon arrival, guests are greeted at the lobby, which doubles as a dining area. The lobby offers stunning sea views, providing a refreshing respite after the journey.
Welcome Drink is a refreshing glass of chilled chrysanthemum tea.
Let's take a look at the room we stayed in, the Beach Front Suite. This room is larger than the other room types and has a sofa area for relaxing inside the room.
The view from the bed inside the room offers a stunning vista of the ocean.
The bathroom is divided into two sections: an open-air shower area with a powerful rain shower and an indoor area with a sink, toilet, dressing room, vanity, refrigerator, toiletries, towels, and slippers.
Outside the room, there are chairs and a hammock, which are available in every room. The view from the front of the room is stunning, overlooking both the swimming pool and the sea.
We ordered lunch and sat down to eat in this corner. The beautiful view made the food taste even better.
After finishing our meal, we decided to explore the resort. We took photos as we walked around, enjoying the numerous photo opportunities the resort offered. As avid photographers, we were delighted by the abundance of picturesque spots.
This location features a bridge extending into the sea, with a hammock at the end for relaxing or taking stylish photos. The ambiance evokes a Maldivian vibe. We've already planned to return in the evening when the sun sets to capture this picturesque angle.
The seawater here is crystal clear. Seeing the foreigners playing in the water, I couldn't resist. Although the sun is hot, we came to the sea as a team. What's the point of being afraid of the sun? We quickly changed our clothes and joined them in the water.
Koh Kood is another island that is very popular with Western tourists. Oops, I knew it, I saw him! I swam all the way to him, but he just rowed away. Haha!
The resort boasts a stylish lakeside swing, perfect for soaking in the water or snapping envy-inducing photos for your social media.
After a refreshing dip in the ocean, the resort also offers a swimming pool with stunning sea views for you to enjoy. The pool is medium-sized, not too small or too big, and has colorful inflatable rings and rafts available for children or adults to use as fun photo props.

After playing in the water until late afternoon, we went to shower and change clothes to take pictures on the bridge and the hammock net. This place in the evening, when the sun sets, is considered another very beautiful spot on Koh Kood. It's a pity that on the day we went, the clouds were a bit too much.
Dinner Time!
It's time for dinner! Here, you'll find a counter for grilling and barbecuing, offering fresh seafood like shrimp, crab, and squid, which you can purchase by weight. Alternatively, if you opt for a package deal, the barbecue set will be included in the price.
After dinner, we returned to our room to enjoy the view. The night sky was filled with stars. We then went inside to watch TV in our room. The bed was very comfortable, and we slept soundly that night.
The next morning, we woke up early and took a few more pictures of the resort before heading to breakfast.
Breakfast at the Hotel
Breakfast is served from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Guests can arrive at any time during these hours and order from a menu of five freshly prepared hot dishes. These include options like rice porridge, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, omelets, and an American breakfast set. Guests can order as many dishes as they like, and additional servings are available upon request. A selection of fresh salads, fruits, milk, and juices is also available at a self-service counter.
After breakfast, we continued to walk around and take photos to aid digestion.
This location offers a variety of complimentary water activities, including kayaking and paddleboarding. These activities can be arranged through the lobby, where the staff will provide the necessary equipment. We opted for paddleboarding, as it was a new experience for us. Initially, we were apprehensive about maintaining our balance while standing and paddling, especially when waves approached, causing us to nearly fall several times. However, it proved to be an enjoyable experience, providing a good workout.
In the afternoon, we have an appointment to go snorkeling. Let's follow along to see which spots around Koh Kood are suitable for snorkeling.
The first stop on our diving trip was Rhinoceros Island. As we descended, we encountered staghorn coral, underwater sculptures of elephants, horses, and cows, and anemonefish, which reside in numerous clumps of anemones. The water was not particularly clear today, appearing rather murky.
After diving for a while, we moved on to the second dive site. This site was located near the Soneva Kiri Resort, but we forgot to ask the guide what it was called.
Upon returning from our diving trip, we were greeted at the pier by an adorable dog belonging to the resort owner. The friendly canine was a delight to encounter. Notably, the resort permits small dog breeds weighing less than 5 kg to accompany guests, making it a haven for animal lovers.

The sky is overcast this evening, with even more clouds than yesterday. The chances of seeing the full, round sun are slim. T_T Oh well, there's always next time.
Let's take a look at some video clips to get a glimpse of the atmosphere.
For dinner tonight, we ordered similar dishes to yesterday, which were shrimp and crab. After dinner, we went to bed early because we were exhausted from the water activities all day.
The morning of our departure arrived in the blink of an eye. Time flies! We woke up later than the first day, and the sun was already shining on the outdoor dining table. So, we moved to the table inside for breakfast.
A hearty breakfast as always, with a table full of food. Our favorite menu is the fried egg, which is also delicious here.
After finishing our meal, we had some time before checking out, so we took the opportunity to take some more photos of the room for you. This is the Beach Front room, which is similar to the one we stayed in, but slightly smaller and without a sofa area. However, the front view of this room offers a direct view of the sea, without the swimming pool in front.
The bathroom at Beach Front is similar to the one in our room, but the window offers a clearer view of the ocean.
Each room type is separated into individual units with ample spacing, ensuring privacy.
From a 3-day, 2-night trip to the sea at the resort Koh Kood, we really liked it here. We were impressed by the resort's many photo spots, the excellent service from the staff, and the opportunity to try new activities that we had never done before.
