"'Sabai dee,' which means 'hello,' is a Laotian greeting that has captivated us in addition to the stunning natural scenery surrounded by mountains that await our arrival.^^ It made us feel as though time had slowed down once more. Love you, Vang Vieng.♡

•Travel• [3 days 2 nights trip]

[ Day1 ]

We began our journey at the Udon Thani Bus Terminal (Old). We purchased our tickets approximately a month in advance due to concerns about availability.^^ [You can purchase tickets at a bus terminal near your home or book them 30 days in advance by calling 1490 and paying at 7-Eleven.] The ticket price was 320฿.

The bus departed at 8:30 a.m. Upon boarding, a staff member provided us with border crossing documents to complete. We arrived at the Thai Immigration checkpoint around 10:00 a.m. After completing the exit document and passport checks, we proceeded to the Lao Immigration checkpoint for further document verification. There, we could exchange currency at the exchange booth, and those who required a phone SIM card could purchase one there or in Vang Vieng. After exchanging money, we continued our journey by bus, arriving in Vang Vieng around 3 p.m., earlier than anticipated.^^

Upon arrival at the Vang Vieng bus station, we immediately purchased our return tickets to Udon Thani for 90,000 kip. On our return date, a van would pick us up from our accommodation and transport us to the bus station. After arranging our return tickets, we took a free shuttle from the bus station to Vang Vieng town. We then began our search for accommodation, settling on Champalaou The Villa. The staff there were incredibly friendly and helpful, providing excellent recommendations. Overall, the atmosphere was quite pleasant. After confirming our room and settling in,

We rented a motorbike from a shop conveniently located in front of our accommodation. The rental fee was 70,000 Kip for 24 hours, and we were provided with a map of Vang Vieng. With some time to spare, we rode the motorbike to Tham Jang Cave, which was not far away. However, upon arrival, we discovered that the cave was closed. Nevertheless, we had the opportunity to take photos at the orange bridge.^^ We then had dinner at a riverside bar, followed by delicious desserts at Luang Prabang Bakery.^^

We exchanged around 5,000 baht each, but we had some left over when we returned.^^

[ Day 2 ]

We left at 6:30 am to go to Pha Ngam. The entrance fee to Pha Ngam is 10,000 kip. It took us about 1 hour to climb to the top of Pha Ngam because the path is quite steep. But when we reached the top and saw the view, it was worth it. The view was amazing. After taking pictures, we continued to the Blue Lagoon because it was on the same way as Pha Ngam.

We arrived at the Blue Lagoon around noon, so we decided to have lunch there. The entrance fee to the Blue Lagoon is 10,000 kip. After swimming and taking pictures, we rode our bikes back to town to find a half-day trip (kayaking + tubing) amidst the chill atmosphere of the Song River. It took about 2 hours. After that, we went to eat and relax at a bar by the river until about 8 pm. Then we went dancing at Sakura Bar.^^

Waking up early to check the map and prepare to ride a motorbike to explore the city.

On the way to Pha Ngern

Pha Ngern, as its name suggests, is truly tiring. The 650-meter trail is relentlessly steep, requiring some climbing in sections. It's best to start before 7 am to avoid the crowds of tourists who arrive later in the day. The uphill climb is strenuous, but the stunning views are well worth the effort.

The Blue Lagoon is already crowded at 10 am.

The Blue Lagoon offers a variety of activities for visitors to enjoy.

During our kayak trip, we can stop at a riverside bar.
