Let me share with you my experience visiting Krabi with my partner.

This trip began with Patch winning a prize from the IMGO page to sail on the LivelifeAndaman from the Krabi Marina for two people. As soon as she won the prize, she booked a hotel. Actually, Patch had already chosen a hotel from Booking.com, but her boyfriend wanted to go to a modern hotel that had only been open for a year, Apple A Day, located in Ao Nang Bay. So, they booked it for three nights.

In-flight view

The airline used is Lion Air, the best deal, cheaper than other airlines, new and good aircraft, comfortable seats, and free 20 kg baggage allowance. The boarding point is Don Mueang Airport.

Day 1

Arriving in the late afternoon, a friend picked me up. Alternatively, a hotel car would cost 600 baht per trip. Dinner was at Ruean Mai Restaurant. The entrance is not very noticeable, but inside you will find a beautiful garden restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere and excellent southern Thai food. Be warned, it's spicy! I didn't take pictures of the food, but I can assure you it looked delicious. My recommendations include crab curry with betel leaves (which is packed with betel leaves), stir-fried shrimp with stinky beans (not spicy), soy sauce-fried mackerel, and shrimp paste chili dip.

This restaurant does not serve halal food.

After finishing their meal, the guests headed to their accommodation. The hotel was located quite a distance from the bustling Ao Nang beach, making it a daunting walk for the lazy traveler. However, there was no need to worry, as the hotel offered complimentary bicycle rentals until 7 pm daily. Additionally, motorbike rentals were available for 200 baht per day.

Third floor room

The room where Patch stayed was unique in the hotel, being larger than the others. It was a corner room with a view of the swimming pool and a very large private balcony, perfect for sunbathing while admiring the beautiful pool. The room included free daily refills of soft drinks, snacks, and cup noodles. Fresh towels were provided every day, along with beach slippers, sandbags, mats, and umbrellas – everything needed for a day at the beach.

In front of the hotel, there are many travel agencies, massage parlors, and convenience stores such as Family Mart and 7-Eleven.

The nearest beach to the hotel is a quiet one with few foreign tourists. The sand is not very beautiful and not very pleasant to walk on, but the view is quite good. At night, I went for a walk in the alleys and found a roti shop. It was delicious.

Krabi Marina Pier

As Patch is not a morning person, she slept in until 2 pm. The first van from LivelifeAndaman arrived at the hotel to pick her up, followed by other guests until the van was full. Most of the passengers were foreigners. Upon boarding the boat, she only saw about three Thai couples.

Snacks and drinks are available for purchase on board. Complimentary items include bottled water and the meals served at your table.

The boat has an air-conditioned room on the first floor. However, it is recommended to stay on the second floor to enjoy the breeze, sea view, and sunshine, and to have easy access to food.

Snorkeling

After passing Railay Bay, we went snorkeling to see the coral reefs and adorable Nemo fish. We then went kayaking together. The staff was very attentive and taught my boyfriend how to snorkel and helped him swim with a lifebuoy.

Barbecue

Are you hungry yet? Come see the barbecue grilling on the boat here.

The food will get cold quickly because of the strong wind, but it is still delicious. Be careful not to let your paper plate blow away while you are eating.

There is a sign above the door that says "Welcome." The photograph is taken from a distance, so it is difficult to see the details of the people or the building. However, it is clear that the people are happy to be there and that the building is a place of welcome.

We have arrived back on shore. We arrived around 7 pm. Patch's boyfriend forgot his T-shirt in the bathroom on the boat. The company delivered it to the hotel the next morning.

Is there anything else I can help you with?

Ah Nang Alley 17

This morning, Patch's girlfriend went cycling to Ao Nang Beach. Patch took a taxi from the front of the alley to Ao Nang 17. He bought a ticket to Phra Nang Cave and took a long-tail boat. He had to wait for eight passengers before the boat could leave. It is recommended to wear very short shorts or clothes that can get wet because when you get on the long-tail boat, you have to walk into the sea. You will definitely get wet.

The sea water splashed all over my face. >O<

The author will not post pictures of the Phra Nang Cave, leaving it to the reader to discover its secrets. The beach itself offers little beyond the cave, and the scorching heat is a significant factor. While a long row of hotels lines the shore, the author was unfortunately met with an unwelcoming staff, even when simply requesting to view a room without the intention of using the bathroom.

After returning to the hotel, we went swimming again. That evening, we went to a famous restaurant in Krabi called Wang Sai. It is said that if you don't eat here, you haven't really been to Krabi. The food at Patch's table was delicious, especially the turmeric-fried sandfish. We give it a thumbs up. That night, we went for a walk along the beach road of Ao Nang and saw the mosque at night. It was very beautiful.

Day Four

Hire a private car from your hotel to visit Phulay Bay Hotel and The Tubkaak Boutique Resort in Tubkaak, then drop you off at the airport. The journey takes approximately two hours and costs 1200 baht, which is significantly cheaper than the 1800 baht offered by tour companies at the hotel. Remember to call both hotels in advance to arrange your visit.

The Thap Khaek Boutique

The flight back to Bangkok was smooth. I would like to recommend the in-flight meal on Lion Air, which is Mama's Green Curry Rice. This is an export product and is not available in Thailand. It was truly delicious! At first, I wasn't interested in trying it because of the packaging, but after tasting it, I wanted to buy some to keep at home. It's that good! Even people who can't handle spicy food can enjoy it because it's not too spicy. The taste is authentic green curry.

This concludes Patch's trip to Krabi. If she has the opportunity to return, she will definitely visit Phi Phi Island.
