Today, we would like to share our travel experience in Nan, which we visited a few months ago.

We hope this will be a helpful guide for those who are looking for a relaxing getaway.

If you haven't decided on a destination for your next long weekend or holiday, consider adding Nan to your list.

You might just fall in love with its charm.

----------------------------------------

Where to go on a holiday like this?

Nan, of course!

Are you in? Let's go!

And so, our impromptu trip began.

Booking transportation during a festival season is always a challenge, and finding accommodation is no different.

But our hearts were set on going, so we decided to take the plunge.

Hello,สมบัติทัวร์.

I would like to book a ticket to Pua, please.

Sure, we have a seat available on the 6:30 PM bus.

Great, I'll take it.

...............

With the bus tickets secured, we turned our attention to finding accommodation.

We had about a week to find a place to stay during the peak season, which was no easy feat.

We were determined to find a place that met our expectations.

In the end, nothing could stop us.

Let's go to Nan!

The city of lush green mountains.

We boarded the bus from Bangkok at the Somphot Tour Viphavadee center around 6:30 PM.

Upon arrival, we grabbed a quick bite to eat, hoping to sleep soundly on the long journey ahead.

(The Somphot bus makes one stop in Phitsanulok province for a meal break. We arrived there around midnight.

Snacks, water, and coffee were provided on the bus.)

The bus fare was 508 baht.

5:00 AM in Pua.

Stepping off the bus, we realized that the casual clothes we had packed might not be enough to keep us warm.

The air conditioning on the bus was already cold, but the natural air was even colder. We put on every layer we had brought.

Across the street from the parking spot, there is a fresh market that opens very early in the morning.

While waiting for the sun to rise, we decided to grab some breakfast.

Before heading out, we called the motorbike rental shop to inquire about their opening hours.

We informed them that we would arrive early in the morning and asked if we could rent a motorbike then.

The owner said it was possible and asked us to call again when we arrived as the shop opens at 8 am.

Today, we plan to rent a motorbike to travel to Bo Kluea.

Bo Kluea is approximately 40 kilometers away from Pua and requires passing through Doi Phu Kha National Park.

Since we couldn't find any cars for rent in Pua, we opted for a motorbike.

For those who enjoy riding, a motorbike with gears is recommended due to the winding roads, steep uphill climbs, and occasional slopes.

The weather was so nice that day. I checked the weather app at noon and it was normal, around 20 degrees Celsius.

But when I got there, it was even better than I thought.

As a biker, my face was numb by the time I reached Bo Kluea. My hands were so stiff that I could barely turn the motorcycle.

I didn't think it would be this cold.

But if you're driving a car, you can probably drive with the windows open and enjoy the cool breeze.

Halfway through the ride, you will reach Doi Phu Kha National Park.

There are camping sites, viewpoints, and sunrise viewpoints.

It's a great place to take a break and sip hot cocoa while enjoying the 16-degree weather.

It's so cold that your face will feel numb.

The path down the mountain

We have arrived at our accommodation for today, Suan Rim Mang, a riverside resort located near the famous salt wells of Bo Kluea district.

This peaceful retreat offers a tranquil atmosphere amidst the natural beauty of the surroundings.

There are two types of accommodation here: tents or yurts.

If you have a tent, you can bring it and set it up yourself.

We chose to stay in a yurt by the river.

After settling into our accommodation, it was time to explore the salt wells.

Bo Kluea is a district in Nan province, a perfect place to relax.

Especially during the winter, the weather here is excellent, cool and comfortable.

Come and lie down quietly, let your body experience nature.

I've tried it, and it's definitely salty!

There is a small coffee shop nearby.

Local vendors sell a variety of goods in the area, including local products and salt-based processed products.

There is a wide selection to choose from.

Wheat coated with coconut is a snack made with wheat kernels coated with grated coconut, a little sugar, and a pinch of salt.

It's a delicious and easy-to-eat snack.

During the long holiday, children will be organizing activities such as selling goods and singing songs.

This will serve as a demonstration plot for growing various crops, including rice and strawberries. It will also provide educational information for visitors.

After visiting the salt mine, we wanted to warm up at Aen Maang, a place we've always wanted to stay.

With the beautiful atmosphere by the Maang River, we decided to go all the way.

We contacted the owner, who said we could stop by.

Because the accommodation was fully booked that night.

We were afraid and worried that it would be a disturbance to the guests who were staying there.

But in reality, every place along the Maang River has its own unique charm.

Just experiencing the atmosphere of the Maang River together is heartwarming.

Every accommodation we stayed at was amazing and lived up to our expectations.

Driving from Bo Kluea, before reaching Uan Ai Mang, we will pass Khun Nan National Park.

After a scenic drive, we arrived at Ban Saphan, a small village nestled amidst mountains, nature, rivers, and mist.

Aun Ai Mang, a small homestay by the Mang River, is a well-known destination for travelers.

While it may not be on everyone's itinerary, Ban Saphan is a sought-after destination for those seeking a warm welcome and the charm of the local people.

Today, we meet Aunt Jean, the housekeeper of Aun I Ma Ng. We will meet her here.

Aunt Jean will prepare food for those who stay here.

The house's resident cat will greet you upon arrival. It will keep you company, ensuring you never feel lonely.

Various angles, simple and ordinary, but with its own charm.

See, even when sleeping, they are still friends.

Even though it's late in the day, the view is still beautiful and the weather is nice.

I don't want to think about the morning air at all. I'll probably get a good morning mist.

The sun is not hot at all, the wind is cool and comfortable.

After driving around the salt lake, we were exhausted. We returned to our accommodation to freshen up before heading out for dinner. We decided to eat at a local barbecue restaurant in the village. The restaurant is located near the bridge over the canal at the entrance to the salt lake village. I apologize for not remembering the name of the restaurant. We saw the barbecue and immediately went inside. If you want to order food to take away or eat at your accommodation, I heard that you can do so. That's all for today. After dinner, we went back to our accommodation to wash up and get rid of the barbecue smell. We went straight to bed and fell asleep under the warm blankets.

Good morning, Bo Kluea

It's so good, the view and the morning chill that makes you not want to get up because the air is cool and comfortable.

The sound of cows mooing instead of hearing roosters crowing.

The sound of running water.

It's a worthwhile wake-up call.

The curtain at the foot of the bed was open.

But today we have to go back.

Because we booked an evening bus, we have to go to the market in Pua.

During the day, we will go on a tour of Pua district.

The way back is the same as the way we came. Hehe.

Roadside view

It seems crazy, putting on so much.

But it's really cold, you know.

Since I didn't prepare anything, I just grabbed whatever I could find.

Moving on to Wat Phukhet.

Wait, is it in Nan or Phuket?

Wat Phukhet is correct. The name is derived from the village name, "Get". However, since the temple is located on a hill, which in the north is called "Doi" or "Phu",

it was named Wat Phukhet.

This temple is stunning both inside and out, with its surroundings enveloped by breathtaking natural scenery.

It also serves as a viewpoint for admiring the sunrise.

View from the balcony behind the temple.

Here, villagers grow crops in rotation.

No matter when you come, you will not miss the beautiful view.

During the rice planting season, this area will be lush green.

When the rice is ripe and golden, the field will be a beautiful golden yellow as far as the eye can see.

But now that the villagers have harvested the rice, they will start planting corn in rotation.

Wat Rong Ngae, an ancient temple in Pua District, boasts a magnificent and distinctive ancient viharn showcasing the exquisite art of the Tai Lue people.

Registered as a historical temple of Nan Province.

Take a break in the afternoon and enjoy the cool breeze at the Baan Tai Lue Coffee Shop.

You can also shop for souvenirs such as beautiful hand-woven fabrics and tie-dye fabrics.

This area features several separate booths where you can relax and enjoy the view. Choose the booth with the view that you prefer.

Before you leave, here's another accommodation option for you.

Tub Na Homestay is a peaceful retreat nestled amidst lush rice fields.

They offer a traditional Thai breakfast served on a "khantoke" tray.

The friendly hosts are happy to assist you.

Choose from a variety of rooms, each offering scenic views of the rice paddies.

There is also a long wooden bridge extending into the rice field.

However, the villagers are currently planting corn, as the rice harvest season has just passed.

After driving around Pua, it was almost time to board the bus.

We circled around and found a restaurant serving Isaan food with a variety of dishes on a tray, located near the bus stop.

On the way back, we booked a VIP bus from Somphot Tour at 6:30 PM.

The price was 790 baht.

The seats were very spacious and comfortable, with air conditioning, charging ports, and entertainment options like music and movies.

Each passenger received headphones for personal entertainment.

The seats were wide enough to stretch your legs comfortably, and neck pillows and blankets were provided.

We will be back to Nan again soon.

Even though this time we couldn't book accommodation in time.

Because we came during the festival suddenly.

The people here are kind enough to let us visit.

Next time we come, we will definitely book accommodation in advance.

You can travel to Nan even if you don't have much time.
