Welcome back to another travel post from 247Journey!

This time, we're taking you on a trip to Chiang Rai.

We actually went on this trip back in November 2016,

but the awesomeness of Chiang Rai has made us reminisce about this review, so we're sharing it with you.

Hopefully, it can be a guide for those of you who haven't planned your trip for the second half of the year.

Another vote for Chiang Rai as a must-visit province.

It was the trip with the most photos, and the hardest to choose from.

..

This trip, I took my mom with me, so I wanted to make it a short, 3-day, 2-night trip.

The kind of trip that first-time visitors to Chiang Rai should take.

So, if you're ready, let's go on a trip to Chiang Rai together!

..

Day 1

We arrived at the Black House Museum, the only place we visited on the first day, around 1 pm.

Let's take a look inside...

A repository of indigenous art, founded by the Thai National Artist, Professor Thawan Duchanee.

This place is truly beautiful! The artwork here is incredibly intricate and detailed.

From the paintings and sculptures to the intricate wood carvings, every piece showcases exceptional craftsmanship.

This museum houses an impressive collection of fascinating artifacts, making it a must-visit for anyone interested in art and history.

Admission fee: 80 baht per person

Note: Students with valid ID cards enter for free.

Let's continue to see the inside..

This place is huge! It's a shame it started raining, I couldn't explore it all. I'll have to come back again next time. Hehe.

Farewell for now, Black House.

And then we finally arrived at another highlight of our trip to Chiang Rai: our accommodation!

KATILIYA MOUNTAIN RESORT & SPA CHIANG RAI

The resort boasts stunning views, and every room is a suite!

Who is this place suitable for?

Given the peaceful and quiet atmosphere, this place is highly recommended for those who truly want to relax and unwind.

We believe it is ideal for couples or families, as the ambiance is quite romantic.

Most importantly, the rooms are incredibly spacious!

Each room has its own balcony. There are a lot of rooms.

It covers the whole mountain. This time, staying in this zone might be suitable for sunrise. Next time, staying on the other side will give you another angle.

This is the interior of the room. The usable area is approximately 90 square meters. Amazing!

Open the curtains all the way, enjoy the view!

A magnificent part of the bathroom space.

This is perfect for couples, a relaxing soak in the tub.

The balcony has chairs for relaxing.

...

Let's take a look at the accommodation atmosphere.

For those who love nature, you've come to the right place. Hehe, there are only big trees here. It's shady, so you don't have to worry about being hot.

Let's move on to the food zone.

The property has an on-site restaurant, making it very convenient.

The food is delicious, with a variety of Thai, European, and Chinese options.

Day 2

Today's plan was actually Doi Mae Salong and Doi Tung.

But while talking to Uncle Taxi, I mentioned that I wanted a place with a good view to take pictures of the mountains.

Do you have any recommendations? I'd like a local's suggestion.

...

Uncle then mentioned a name, 'Da Lo Village'.

It's not really a tourist spot, but the scenery along the way is beautiful.

And it's on the same route as the way up to Doi Mae Salong.

So, let's go, Uncle! Let's go all the way! 55555

Mostly, I parked at scenic viewpoints. As I mentioned, I didn't have a specific destination.

The advantage of this route is that there is very little traffic. Thank you so much, Uncle!

You can contact Uncle here: https://www.facebook.com/taxiuncle/

....

Uncle is very kind. Tell him where you want to go!

After capturing the perfect shots, we embarked on our journey to Doi Mae Salong.

Wow, this angle is amazing... the road to Doi Mae Salong is truly beautiful.

Experience the beauty of terraced rice fields without traveling all the way to Sapa! (But this is a tea plantation, hehe)

The first stop we planned to visit was Tea Center(101), a tea plantation and shop. However, due to heavy rain, we decided to skip it and head to the next destination.

This place offers a wide variety of teas from different producers for tasting.

I had three glasses and couldn't sleep. It's really good. This is just a taste. 55555

The next place, when arriving at Doi Mae Salong, I couldn't help but stop by to take pictures of the beautiful flower garden at

Doi Mok Flower Resort-Mae Salong

This is actually a place to stay, but they also allow the general public to take pictures. They are not at all possessive. Hehe.

Or stop by for souvenirs.

The sole purpose of my visit to Doi Mae Salong was to indulge in the local tea and savor the delectable shiitake mushrooms cooked in soy sauce.

While Doi Mae Salong is renowned for its Yunnan Chinese cuisine, I opted for a lighter option today: pork leg with steamed buns.

And here's our star, the soy sauce fried shiitake mushrooms. We're entering this into the competition. We really love it! >3

View of a coffee shop on the way down from Doi Mae Salong.

And we moved on to Doi Tung.

There are many tourist attractions on Doi Tung to choose from, the main ones being:

- Mae Fah Luang Garden

- Doi Tung Royal Villa

- Hall of Inspiration

- Doi Tung Pagoda

...

For this trip, we only visited two places, starting with Mae Fah Luang Garden.

It's a cold-climate flower garden that's sure to be a favorite with moms. I took ten shots in a row, haha.

What you see there is the popular Doi Tung Tree Top Walk, but it was raining, so I was hiding quietly, afraid of getting my camera wet, haha.

Atmosphere at Tree Top Walk

This zone showcases a diverse array of flowers, offering a refreshing and vibrant display of nature's beauty.

Surrounded by flowers.

The path is very walkable.

We then hurried up to Doi Tung Royal Villa.

Come visit and explore the home of Her Royal Highness the Princess Mother. This place truly impressed us.

Photography is not permitted inside the palace.

The second day of the trip ended around 5 pm.

On the way down from Doi Tung, there were beautiful viewpoints to stop at. No matter how you take the pictures, they will be beautiful.

Day 3

Plan: Today's schedule is quite packed before heading back. We'll start with:

  • Choui Fong Tea Plantation

A Highly Popular Tourist Destination in Chiang Rai

This sentence describes a popular tourist destination in Chiang Rai, Thailand. The emphasis on "มากกกกกก" (very, very, very) suggests that this is a well-known and highly visited attraction.

To be honest, I didn't expect much at first.

But this place is way more beautiful than I expected. Not only are the photo spots amazing, but the cakes are also delicious, just as everyone says.

You have profile pictures to change for the whole month.

Let's move on to the cafe section. There are two sides to choose from: left and right.

One side offers food service, but if you just want to order drinks and cake, you can choose either side.

Cheesecake is delicious!

Next, let's move on to the next location, 'Wat Rong Suea Ten'.

Honestly, in terms of the beauty and intricacy of the artwork,

it truly deserves praise for our country. It's stunningly beautiful.

This temple may deviate from the 'typical' temples we encounter.

The primary distinction lies in the color scheme, which features an uncommon light blue hue.

Beyond the outer beauty, discover the inner workings!

Absolutely stunning! The real thing is even more beautiful than the pictures. You have to see it for yourself to believe it.

White pearl 'Phra Phuttha Ratchamongkhon Bodhi Tree Lokanath'

Created by a student of Professor Chalermchai, this work is truly impressive!

And of course, after admiring the work of his students,

a visit to the iconic 'White Temple', a top tourist destination in Chiang Rai, is a must.

The creative work of Professor Chalermchai Kositpipat.

The works of our National Artists are truly world-class.

Ultimately,

Singha Park Chiang Rai

Many people may know it as Boon Rawd Farm.

This location is ideal for families.

A shuttle service is available to transport visitors to various locations.

The cost is very reasonable, only 50 baht per person.

The tourist zone is quite diverse, ranging from flower fields

to animal zones (feeding giraffes and zebras) and even cycling paths!

The atmosphere is super chill.

That appears to be a zipline. Anyone up for giving it a try?

Don't forget to take a picture with the lion statue!

Before boarding my flight back, I'd like to recommend this restaurant:

Lour Lam Restaurant, Chiang Rai

Besides the renowned taste,

the highlight is the sunset view by the Kok River.

Riverside atmosphere, good air, good food, great view!

What a memorable trip to Chiang Rai!

If you haven't planned your next trip yet, consider visiting Chiang Rai!
