Doi Luang Chiang Dao - Mae Kampong Village - Tha Pae Walking Street, Chiang Mai Province

The first blog of the year and the first blog of my life. This Kumbha month, we have a plan to travel up north. But...oh no!! What clothes should I wear? Oh my gosh, how many sets should I bring?? Let's go backpacking!

This is a travel plan for Chiang Mai. What should you prepare for a trip there? Let's share and see.

First things first, let's plan where we're going. I'm the master planner, so this is my job.

Our plan >>>> Chiang Mai 3 days 4 nights trip <<<< The main destinations are Doi Luang Chiang Dao, Mae Kampong, Tha Pae Gate Walking Street, and other attractions in Chiang Mai. Oh my god!!... Is 4 days enough for this tight schedule?

Book your accommodation first (to check if the accommodation in your plan is available, so you can adjust your travel date in time).

Located at Doi Luang Chiang Dao, the accommodation is available at >>> Baan Saimok Homestay. The price is 500 baht per person, including dinner and breakfast.

@ Mae Kampong, stay at >>> Huen Him Huai for 550 baht per person, including breakfast.

@ Nimmanhaemin, stay at >>> Green Palace Hotel Nimmanhaemin, 500 baht per room.

Three... Book tickets (we need to have a travel plan and accommodation first, then book the tickets). For booking tickets, we wait for the cheap promotions of various airlines. If there are no promotions, we can book through the agent's website (the agent acts as a representative for booking tickets from various airlines. Some agents are much cheaper than airlines, while some are not much cheaper. We need to compare and find the best deal).

And then… we found one. Yes, but it made our hearts skip a beat. What happened? Well, after we booked and transferred the money, about 3 weeks later, we called the airline to check.

"No tickets have been issued yet, as the agent has not yet notified us of the customer's payment." Oh, that's not what we agreed on!

Warning:

  1. Book with a reliable agent. I didn't check any reviews and jumped in because it was cheap. Many people have had problems, but I only realized it when I had a problem myself.
  2. Be ready to transfer money before booking. They will time you and expect payment within 2 hours. Don't book multiple times, or you'll get confused like me. Which code did I pay for?
  3. Once you transfer the money, you will receive an E-ticket from the agent. This confirms that the airline has issued your ticket. From what I've read in reviews, you should get it on the same day. So call the airline immediately to check, don't be slow like me. It was my first time booking, so I was still a bit clueless.
  4. It's difficult to contact foreign agents. After that day, I felt like my foreign language skills improved (just a feeling, haha).

We have everything ready: attractions, accommodation, round-trip transportation, and local transportation.

Okay, I can translate that for you. Here's the translation:

Oh, I forgot to mention that we're going to rent some motorbikes at Bikky Chiang Mai. The prices are very reasonable, starting from a few hundred baht to a thousand baht.

"I must admit, I was a little scared, but it was also exciting. However, as a petite woman, I didn't ride the motorcycle myself (I can't ride >O<). Instead, I went with a personal driver, which was more reassuring and safe."

The first phase of ticket booking has concluded.
