Let's indulge in a delightful all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu experience. This particular buffet restaurant is located in Taoyuan, and while I'm unsure if there's a time limit, my Taiwanese friend treated me to this feast. Upon inquiring with the staff, I learned that the price is 505 TWD. The menu boasts an impressive selection of dishes, surpassing even those found in Thailand.
Vegetable and meat zone for shabu shabu pot
The hotpot here is served in individual pots with a choice of six broths: Tom Yum, Japanese, Kimchi, Mala, and two others that I can't recall. I opted for the Japanese broth and added some Taiwanese spicy sauce for a kick.
The meat selection for the shabu-shabu pot is similar to what we have in Thailand, with options like beef, pork belly, fish, squid, and even blue shark meat (which we tried and found to be surprisingly chewy and delicious). There were also various types of clams, scallops, and other shellfish (2-3 kinds in total), all of which were incredibly fresh and tasty. Crabs were also available, each about half the size of a small hand. Our friend recommended boiling the crabs in the soup to enhance its sweetness. As for the vegetables, there were some unique offerings compared to Thailand, such as various types of seaweed, mushrooms, and stuffed meatballs. We particularly enjoyed the shrimp roe-stuffed meatballs.
The beverage zone offers a wide variety of options. Based on my observation, there are at least five hot coffee machines placed side by side, along with a water dispenser offering over seven types of tea and fruit-flavored water. Additionally, two self-service water dispensers are available for customer convenience.
The translation is:
Hot pan corner and various Japanese food. Our Taiwanese friends have been to this corner three times.
The toasted bread and popcorn corner was a unique experience, featuring a popcorn machine, which is uncommon in buffets. This section had a resemblance to hotel food.
A variety of ready-made food, including sausages, soups, and fried dishes, looks very appetizing.
This is my favorite corner. It's a Taiwanese-style steamer with a variety of dim sum, including dumplings, soup dumplings, and steamed buns. There are so many options, I don't know what to choose!
This is a selection of cold beans and ready-to-eat meals.
A variety of fruits and salad corners, with over 13 salad dressings to choose from.
After we were full, we continued with ice cream. There were two types of ice cream: Meiji's scoop ice cream and ice cream in boxes. We chose the most expensive ice cream, similar to a Magnum, because our Taiwanese friend said it was delicious and expensive. We ate what our friend recommended. On the right is a dessert cabinet with a lot of desserts. It's a pity that our stomachs were already full.
Next time, I promise to try everything.
Today's meal was incredibly satisfying, offering excellent value for money. I would rate it 5/5 and highly recommend trying it.
