Lamphun, a small province brimming with ancient civilizations, boasts captivating traditions and tourist attractions. The revered Phra That Hariphunchai, a prominent landmark, serves as the province's spiritual heart. This magnificent temple, officially designated as a first-class royal monastery, has long been a revered pilgrimage site in Lanna Thai culture. Its ancient beauty and historical significance continue to captivate visitors.

The temple boasts the most delicious grass jelly in the human city. Humans queue up for it, and it's truly delicious. The sugar they use is so fragrant and sweet. ^^

Please wait in line.

It's so delicious ^^

The Indian cork tree in the temple is blooming beautifully.

Let's continue to admire the beauty of Wat San Pa Yang Luang.

Located in the village of San Pa Yang Luang, Mueang District, Lamphun Province, Wat San Pa Yang Luang is one of the five most beautiful temples in Thailand. Originally known as "Wat Khom Lamphong," it was built in 1074 AD, making it the first Buddhist temple in the Lanna region.

During the reign of Queen Chama Thewi, the founder and first queen of Hariphunchai (present-day Lamphun province), she renovated and restored this temple. It served as her place of meditation throughout her life due to its serene and tranquil atmosphere, shaded by large and small rubber trees. Upon Queen Chama Thewi's passing, her remains were cremated at this very temple.

The Wat San Phaya Yang Luang temple houses the beautiful "Wihan Phra Khong Khiao" (Emerald Buddha of the Mekong River) hall, constructed in 2005. This hall enshrines a jade Buddha statue retrieved from the Mekong River.

The temple buildings are adorned with intricate stucco patterns and carvings, creating a visually stunning spectacle.

Let's escape to the unseen beauty and cool serenity of the Gorkor Waterfall, located in Li District, Lamphun Province, approximately 48 kilometers from the district center. This stunning waterfall, considered the most beautiful in Mae Ping National Park, cascades down a 20-meter limestone cliff in seven tiers, forming a large emerald green pool. The constant flow of water throughout the year has created numerous stalactites and stalagmites, adding to the natural splendor of the area.

Ko Luang Waterfall is a stunning destination that never fails to impress, especially during the winter months when the cascading water is at its most magnificent. The paved road provides easy access, making it a convenient and enjoyable trip. ^^

During the winter season, the water boasts stunning colors. However, swimming is not recommended due to the frigid temperatures.

Seeking a refreshing dip? Consider visiting during the late rainy season or early winter when the water is abundant and clear. While the water is relatively cool and deep, it is safe for swimming. However, non-swimmers are advised to wear a life jacket for added safety. Please note that there are no shops or restaurants near the waterfall. If you plan to picnic, please bring your own food and drinks. Remember to dispose of your trash responsibly in the designated bins to help maintain the cleanliness of the area.

The water is crystal clear and refreshingly cool.

If you have free time, try visiting the next attraction, which is the rapids that were featured in the romantic movie "Thinking of You." You can enjoy the scenery and have a meal at one of the floating restaurants.
