Visit OMAN
This is my first time writing a post, so please forgive me for any mistakes. I traveled from December 3rd to 8th, 2016 (during the winter season there) on AirAsia, which had a great promotion, but it seems to have been discontinued.
What is Oman like? This is a question that many people ask. I don't know, I haven't been there yet. I just know that I want to go because I watched NO WAY WITHOUT YOU at 5:21. In just a few minutes, we decided to go. This country has had problems since AirAsia canceled flights, even at the airport. Did you know that the AirAsia counter at Don Mueang checks the money you bring into the country? You must have at least 25,000 baht at the counter. They also check your hotel reservation to see how many stars it has. The lady said, "You have to book a 4-star hotel, but you booked a 2-star and a 3-star hotel." Oh my god! I almost missed my flight. When I arrived at the airport in Oman, they didn't even ask about my health. They just stamped my passport and let me through. I've always had problems before I travel. I've only traveled like a beggar. Normally, I don't write much about any country because I don't remember much. But please, this country, I'm just explaining it randomly. If you want to know how good it is, you have to go and experience it yourself. I can't tell you everything, it's a secret! Ha ha ha. But now I've been there and back. If you want to know what Oman is like, go!
- We are two people, new friends who met for the first time at the airport before departure. We really need to find someone to share the cost.
Upon arrival in Oman, travelers can obtain a visa on arrival at the airport. The visa counter is conveniently located near the currency exchange booth, just after entering the airport. The visa fee is 5 OMR (approximately 92 Thai Baht), and it grants a 10-day stay. Immigration officials typically do not ask any questions, making the process smooth and efficient. Upon exiting the airport, visitors will find a variety of services, including SIM card vendors and car rental counters, easily visible due to the airport's compact size.
- Women should dress modestly and avoid wearing shorts, unless they are going swimming in the middle of the desert or mountains (depending on the weather).
Transportation in Oman
There are several ways to travel in Oman:
- Self-drive car rental: This offers flexibility and independence, allowing you to explore at your own pace.
- Taxis: Convenient for short trips within cities or towns.
- Local tour services: Provide guided tours and transportation, ideal for exploring specific regions or attractions.
- Big Bus Tours: Offer hop-on hop-off sightseeing tours in major cities, following designated routes with multiple stops.
- Here, when ordering food, customers stay in their cars and honk their horns. Staff will then come to take your order. Don't be surprised if you hear car horns frequently while eating.
Every place, every country is dangerous, including Thailand. Prepare good information, be careful not to go to risky places in the dark, and you will pass with flying colors.
We left the airport around 7 pm by taxi to go to the hotel. We stayed at the bowshar International Hotel, which is near the Oman Avenues Mall. We had dinner at the mall on our first day.
The bedroom is very spacious with a comfortable double bed. The bathroom is as large as the bedroom.
Day 2
Today, we were picked up by our tour guide at the hotel. We had booked a 3-day tour with Wild East Oman. Before we set off, we enjoyed a cup of tea and some dates.
Is there anything else I can help you with?
To start a fresh morning in this country, the first place is Sink Hole. The front looks like a large pit with crystal clear water at level 10, suitable for swimming.
On the way back from the Sinkhole, we stopped by the sea for a bit. The guide summoned camels and crabs with a flick of his finger, demonstrating his impressive level 8 skills.
Shab Valley (Sur)
Wadi Shab is a stunning oasis where visitors can swim and explore without fear of judgment. The crystal-clear water invites endless somersaults, and the locals are welcoming and respectful of visitors' enjoyment. The journey to the oasis is a scenic hike, and the breathtaking views along the way are sure to elicit excited screams. The water is incredibly clear, with designated deep and shallow areas. Wadi Shab is a place that must be experienced firsthand, as even the most skilled photographers cannot capture its true beauty.
After Wadi Shab, we stopped for lunch. I was glad I let the guide order for me, as I always seem to make bad choices. The restaurant didn't look very inviting from the outside, but it was open.
I don't know the name, but it's so delicious I have to beg for my life. Haha, use your hands. Don't leave any chicken. I can eat the bones. I'll wrap this up and take it home.

After lunch, we stopped to admire the beautiful ocean view.
Before heading to the desert camp, we stopped by a local market to experience the culture. As I mentioned earlier, I can't recall the name of this place. It felt like a Thai OTOP market, but with a chic and stylish twist. The vendors were dressed to impress, standing and chatting with knives tucked into their belts and walking sticks in hand.
Greetings, desert. I actually have a video clip of driving up here. It was fun. Hawaii is crazy. Pitch black, a million stars. How can I explain it? It's like taking a plate and inverting a cup over it. The stars are just like that, surrounding you.
Is there anything else I can help you with?
The first time I captured stars in my camera, this is the best I could get. I'm satisfied, the real thing is beyond words.
English:
Our own bed, we requested it ourselves 555. The guide called it a Luxury Room, and I must say, I loved it. It was so cool. I have to thank you so much for the million-dollar view. You can't find it anywhere else. If you stick your head out of the car, you'll see a ceiling of a million stars. I could cry. It's so cold in the desert.

Day 2: Morning in the Desert
Our breakfast was delicious again, everything we ate was delicious.
Our guide took us on a thrilling slide down the sand dunes. The experience was so exhilarating that I can't even describe it.
We had another meal before continuing our journey. It was fish with rice, as usual. Abdul (the name of our guide) ordered it for us. Is there anything that Abdul orders that isn't delicious? I tried to eat as fast as Abdul, but I couldn't keep up. It was so delicious!
Nizwa Fort
We set up camp on the mountain tonight. It was already dark when we arrived. We stopped at the supermarket before going up the mountain. Abdul ate something simple. She bought flour and something like yogurt to spread on the flour. Abdul is so easygoing. But then again, is there anything she makes that isn't delicious? When we arrived, we helped each other prepare the sleeping area and arrange everything. The night we camped on the mountain, it was 10 degrees. It was so cold that I couldn't sleep. I was freezing.
This photo is beautifully taken by our friend.
Our own bathroom.

The morning has come and the picture has been taken.
The final day of the tour was a city tour. Breakfast was a dish I don't know the name of, but it was a crepe-like dough spread with egg, cream cheese, and topped with snake. It sounds shocking, but it was delicious.
Royal Palace Al Alam (Muscat)
We arrived too late for the Sultan Qaboos Mosque, the first stop on our third day. It closed at 11:00 and then closed for religious ceremonies. We couldn't find parking at the market, so we came here to the Al Alam Royal Palace (Muscat).
After that, Abdul took us for a scenic drive, and then we asked him to drop us off at the hotel. From here on, we will be exploring on our own.
Translation:
This evening, we are staying at the Mutrah Hotel, conveniently located near the Mutrah Souq. We will be spending two nights here. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and clean. Interestingly, there is a hidden bar located below the hotel. We highly recommend the restaurant across the street, which offers delicious and affordable food. We have been frequenting it so much that the staff now recognize us. Our hands have become quite adept at using cutlery, so don't be surprised, fellow guests!

This morning, we started exploring on our own. We love walking. This morning, we were at the fish market.
After visiting the market, we walked around the city. We visited the shopping market three times a day because the hotel was nearby.
On our last morning in Oman, we hired a taxi from the hotel to take us to the airport, with a stop at the Sultan Qaboos Mosque. The cost was 15 OMR. The driver acted as a guide, taking us to the sea and showing us the hot springs. He went off the beaten path, which was enjoyable. For women, the cost of renting an abaya was 2 OMR.
Here are the details, please forgive me if anything is missing. In Oman, we recommend tours with Wild East Oman, which combines various activities rather than just sitting in a car. It's more fun and definitely worth it. Oman is a country with everything from the sea, mountains, deserts, camels, dolphins, diving, and good men. I don't usually write long descriptions like this, but my simple words might inspire someone to travel. Thank you for reading this far.
Summary of expenses
Three-day tour cost 110 OMR (price for 2 people)
Accommodation fee: 3016 Baht
Flight cost 6645 baht
The visa fee is 5 OMR, which is equivalent to 500 Thai baht. We will round it up to the nearest whole number.
The final day's airport taxi fare was 15 OMR, split in half.
The taxi fare from the airport to the hotel on the first day was 6 OMR, which was split in half.
The total cost of food and shopping for the entire trip was 25,000 baht.
Ending with a picture of ourselves.
