The trip to Siem Reap was a spontaneous decision made on a Wednesday morning. After a quick online search, I booked a bus ticket and set off on an adventure. The journey began with a bumpy ride in a van filled with Cambodian passengers. The driver dropped us off at the border, where we were immediately swarmed by taxi drivers eager for our business. After some negotiation, I shared a taxi with two Thai tourists who were also heading to Siem Reap. Upon arrival, I checked into my hostel and took a much-needed nap. The afternoon was spent exploring the town and purchasing tickets for the Angkor Wat sunrise tour the following day. The next morning, I joined a group of tourists for the sunrise tour. Despite the cloudy skies, the ancient temples were breathtaking. We spent the day exploring the Angkor complex, including the Bayon, Ta Prohm, and Elephant Terrace. In the evening, I met up with my Thai companions and some other travelers at a rooftop bar. We enjoyed Angkor Beer and shared stories of our adventures. Later, we headed to Pub Street, where we danced the night away. The following day, I boarded a bus back to Thailand. The journey was long, but I was content with the memories I had made. This trip was a reminder that sometimes the best adventures are the ones we don't plan. It was a chance to step outside my comfort zone and experience a new culture. I returned home feeling refreshed and inspired.
