~ Hello ASEAN ~

Hello everyone, Korean style greeting,, Of course, today we will review traveling to Korea, Lee, Lee. . .
From the past trip at the end of February (February 22-27, 2017, actually traveled for 5 days ^^)

This post is a review of the different areas we visited in Seoul.
I should mention that I had never been to Korea before and never thought I would go because I had heard so much about the immigration process.
However, as fate would have it, I ended up booking a ticket out of the blue.
I didn't know what to expect other than good-looking oppas and the insanely popular Korean music.
Before I went, I was apprehensive and prepared everything, including all my documents! I brought everything I could think of, haha.
But in the end, when I arrived at immigration, they didn't even ask about my health. It took less than a minute to get through! (It depends on your luck, though.)
Once I was in the city, it was time to explore Seoul! This trip was all about Seoul because I had never been there before and didn't want to travel too much.
But after spending five days there, I have to say that I didn't want to leave. I wanted to stay longer and come back again. It was just that good.
The weather was great, the food was delicious, and everyone, both men and women, was attractive.

Anyway, I won't write too much. Let's just get to it: "SEOUL."
This part will focus on the sights (which many of you may have already visited). The next part will be all about the food!

This was a rough plan, which was completely disrupted upon arrival. We woke up late and changed locations every day.

This trip, we went for 5 days and chose to use AIS's SIM2FLY. The signal was excellent, and we had 3 GB of internet data, which was more than enough, so we didn't have to worry about getting lost.

Let's skip the details of immigration, ticket purchase, and currency exchange.

Let's delve into specific districts. Let's get straight to the point. Done!

And of course, we traveled with Nok Air as usual. Whoosh! We flew overnight and arrived in the morning.

Departing from Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) at 02:20 and arriving at Incheon International Airport (ICN) at 09:40.

Ewha Womans University

The Ewha Womans University area

The university area is full of beautiful, stylish, and cute girls.

The university, which appears to have become a significant landmark for tourists, is a must-see destination.

In addition to the beautiful buildings and architecture, the front of the university is surrounded by...

There are countless shops selling a wide variety of goods, making it a perfect place to spend your money. Ladies, in particular, will be spoilt for choice with the abundance of items on offer.

It is recommended to visit in the late afternoon as more shops will be open than during the day. Clothing, bags, and shoes are all available! You must come!

Regardless of your starting point, take the subway and get off at Ehwa University Station!

The station shares the same name as the university. It is very easy to get to. When you come up from the station, you will see an exit like this.

A popular angle that can be seen from various reviews. Everyone who comes here must come to this angle.

The real thing is very beautiful, the atmosphere is good, and below are the actual buildings on both sides.

Moving on to the area outside the university, there are plenty of shops to explore.

The area is characterized by numerous alleys and roadsides, with a hilly terrain reminiscent of a mountainous landscape.

This shop is amazing! They sell a wide variety of products at incredibly low prices, including cosmetics, souvenirs, snacks, green tea jam, seaweed, and much more.

It is indeed cheap (not sure if it's fake cosmetics as some people have said, so weigh your options carefully).

However, the snacks and souvenirs are cheaper than elsewhere, I can assure you. The shop is located near the front of the university, facing out and to the right!

Garosu-gil

Next up is the Garosu-gil district, a trendy and hip area with a wide variety of shops, including clothing brands, shoes, and accessories.

This area is like a fashion zone, with many different shops. It's a must-visit for shopaholics.

Travel Directions: Take the train to Sinsa Station, Exit 8.

After exiting the station, walk straight ahead. If you see this type of entrance, you are definitely on the right track.

This road is lined with ginkgo trees, their golden leaves shimmering on both sides. However, we came in the winter. Oh well, better luck next time!

There is a famous coffee shop that people like to check in at.

This branch of LINE FRIENDS is popular with tourists, offering a wide selection of merchandise and a LINE Cafe on the lower floor.

This is a unique feature that we haven't seen in other branches (based on our observations in Hongdae and Myeongdong). The bears in Myeongdong are larger, but it's also much more crowded.

We really like this store. It sells high-quality branded products, even if they may be discontinued or out of season.

Located underground, the space resembles a clothing armory, with each brand clearly separated and prominently displayed. The selection is impressive and the prices are reasonable.

Another store I really like is Shoopen, where the prices are incredibly affordable. Bags and shoes are mostly around 300 baht each.

Ideal for students or teenagers, and even more adorable because it comes in a set with matching colors.

Is there anything else I can help you with?

Hongdae

A vibrant and bustling district popular among young people, offering a wide variety of dining options and entertainment. The area is known for its lively atmosphere, attracting large crowds of teenagers and young adults. 55555 It is a popular hangout spot, with a diverse range of options, including quiet areas, zones with street performers, and lively pubs and bars.

Getting there: Take the subway and get off at Hongik Station!

This area is also home to a large branch of the Style Nanda store, which features a photo booth where customers can take pictures.

You can print it out, and most importantly, it's free! Many young Korean women have been seen taking pictures there.

Across from STYLE NANDA is the CHUU store, a charming boutique perfect for women.

The area is also home to a wide variety of shops, catering to the needs of the young population.

The opposite side is a direct path to the pub zone, with a considerable number of pubs located there.

Look at this, there are so many people here, even though it's just a weekday. On Saturdays and Sundays, it's even more crowded.

The area was packed with people, making it difficult to move around.

The KAKAO FRIENDS store is located on the main street in the Hongdae district.

The price of cute KakaoTalk character items is high, but not as expensive as LINE.

Myeongdong

Myeongdong, a bustling tourist district, is a must-visit for its vibrant atmosphere and diverse culinary offerings. With countless restaurants and shops lining its streets, Myeongdong is a haven for foodies and shopaholics alike.

Getting there: Take the subway to Myeong-Dong Station!

This is the LINE FRIENDS store with a giant Brown bear, literally the biggest one I've ever seen in any branch, and there's a huge line of people waiting to take photos.

At various tourist attractions in Korea, you will always see red-clad tourist service staff standing by!

They will provide various services, give advice, and guide us. We can go in and ask for details.

The popular STYLE NANDA on the top floor is themed PINK POOL CAFE, perfect for sweet girls.

You can order desserts and take cute photos on the rooftop. As for us, we arrived too late, so we'll have to pass this time.

Each floor is decorated in a different style, such as this floor, which is made to look like a laundromat. Every floor is truly unique and stylish.

DDP - Dongdaemun Design Plaza

A Must-Visit Destination in Seoul: DDP

DDP, a popular tourist attraction in Seoul, boasts a unique and eye-catching architectural design by Zaha Hadid. Its curved, modern structure has become a prominent landmark, frequently featured in Seoul Fashion Week events.

The journey is not difficult. Simply take the subway to Dongdaemun Station, of which there are two in the vicinity (if I recall correctly).

However, it is not far to walk, and it will connect to this side! It's easy to get there.

Gyeongbokgung Palace

**Must-see landmarks for tourists:** If you think the palace is just another palace and nothing special, think again! The interior is stunning, with a beautiful atmosphere. The palace itself is magnificent, and the grounds are vast. We didn't even see everything because we got tired and lazy (haha). But there are countless photo opportunities. You'll see many Koreans and tourists alike renting hanbok (traditional Korean clothing) and taking pictures.

Bukchon Hanok Village

Bukchon Hanok Village is a traditional Korean village located in Seoul, South Korea. The village is known for its preserved traditional Korean houses, known as hanoks.

Additional Information:

  • Bukchon Hanok Village is a popular tourist destination, offering visitors a glimpse into traditional Korean culture and architecture.
  • The village is home to a variety of shops, restaurants, and cafes.
  • Visitors can also enjoy traditional Korean performances and activities in the village.

Note: I have translated the sentence into a simple and short format, as requested. I have also provided additional information about Bukchon Hanok Village, which may be helpful to the reader.

Bukchon Hanok Village: A Historical Gem in the Heart of Seoul

Nestled amidst the bustling metropolis of Seoul, Bukchon Hanok Village stands as a captivating testament to the city's rich history. This charming enclave of traditional Korean houses, known as hanoks, offers a unique glimpse into the architectural heritage of the Joseon Dynasty.

Early Arrival Recommended:

To fully appreciate the tranquility of Bukchon Hanok Village, an early morning visit is highly recommended. As the day progresses, the narrow alleyways become increasingly crowded with tourists eager to capture the picturesque scenery. The iconic photo spots, in particular, tend to be overrun with visitors, making it challenging to secure that perfect shot.

A Blend of Tradition and Modernity:

The juxtaposition of ancient hanoks against the backdrop of towering skyscrapers creates a fascinating contrast, showcasing the harmonious coexistence of tradition and modernity in Seoul. The village exudes a unique charm, transporting visitors back in time while simultaneously reminding them of the city's dynamic evolution.

Getting There:

For a convenient journey to Bukchon Hanok Village, take the subway to Anguk Station (Line 3). Exit through Exit 2, and you'll find yourself within walking distance of this historical treasure.

This area is full of old houses in various alleys. You can walk into each alley to take pictures.

However, please keep your voice down as there are residents living in the house. To be a good tourist, it's important to be respectful and mindful of others.

Some houses have been converted into learning centers (if I understand correctly).

Visitors can enter and explore the interior, where various artifacts and utensils are displayed.

The house is not particularly large or spacious.

As you continue walking, you will come across another nearby area with a significant number of shops.

This is another spot that tourists must pass through when visiting this area.

This is a claw machine with adorable Goblin dolls. I managed to win one on my first try for only 1000 won. What a lucky break!

Claw machines in Korea are great because they are rarely rigged, and most importantly, the prizes look good and expensive.

Gwanghwamun Gate Plaza

Gwanghwamun Square is located adjacent to Gyeongbokgung Palace.

This photo was taken from outside the palace walls, on the opposite side of the crowd. Please see the next image.

While protests demanding the removal of the government are not the only activity taking place, there are also gatherings and various activities occurring in the area, resembling a public assembly.

We also mourn the Sewol ferry.

Cheonggyecheon Stream

The Cheonggyecheon Stream, once known for its polluted waters, has been transformed into a clear, cool stream teeming with fish.

Indeed, there are real fish in there, making it a popular leisure destination for many people today.

It was so cold when we went there that we could barely walk.

Location: Situated directly opposite Gwanghwamun Square, with a continuous walk ahead.

Three consecutive attractions: Gyeongbokgung Palace > Gwanghwamun Square > Cheonggyecheon Stream.

"Seeing the large purple snail symbol, there's no mistake, we've arrived at Khlong Chong Kecha."

The atmosphere is fantastic.

Hanuel Park

Hanuel Park, the field of wildflowers that we often see in photos on Instagram from people who have visited Korea.

The scenery was as beautiful as the story. I also wanted to take some clear photos. But when I got there, !!!

The timing wasn't ideal, as it was already late in the winter season when we went. They must have already cut the grass. Hmm, in conclusion...

Hanuel Park and the Last Clump of Grass!

Reaching this place is no easy feat, requiring a significant amount of walking.

This distinctive blue bridge confirms we're on the right track! Now, let's ascend the visible staircase. O_O

The climb wasn't too bad, only about 200 steps. Although it was steep, the view from the top was truly beautiful. I can confirm that!

But then, he turned to look at Haneul... Hmm, Haneul... Hmmmmm...

Thank you. 555555

TEAMLAP WORLD

Teamlap World is a highlight of the trip, with its stunning interior.

A cutting-edge art museum offering an interactive experience for all ages. Adults will be entertained, and children will gain valuable experiences.

Everything, from the light, color, and sound, is designed to provide a unique and immersive experience of modern art. (Our country has also hosted similar exhibitions, but not on this scale.)

Take the subway to Jamsil Station! You'll be there in no time.

The entrance is right next to Lotte World, walk to the right, it will be at the back.

Entry fee for adults is 20,000 won. The attraction is now permanently open with no closing date set.

Let's get started.

Get ready to fill your memory card, because you'll be taking photos nonstop. Flower aesthetics, backlit portraits – bring it all on!

Each zone is designed to facilitate continuous activities, primarily focusing on drawing, with the ability to scan and project onto the wall.

Imagine how much fun it is for us as adults, it really sparks our imagination.

This room features a mesmerizing display of moving images that resemble ocean waves, accompanied by comfortable seating where visitors can relax and unwind.

It is observed that there are many teenagers who come to relax in this room, with a chill and slow-life vibe.

The interior features a variety of activities along the way, primarily focused on drawing and coloring, with the resulting artwork displayed on the walls.

The activities are suitable for both children and adults.

The highlight of this location is the room filled with light bulbs that move to the rhythm of the music.

The room is stunning, but unfortunately, it is a bit on the small side.

Join Teamlap on a trip to Korea.
The next part will be packed with food and drink!
