It has been a whole month since our trip, but due to our busy schedules, we have only just found the time to write a review.

If you have been following our reviews, you will notice that "Singapore" is a country that we just reviewed during our New Year's trip last year!!!

Yes, that's right, sis. But that was during New Year's -- this is Songkran! They're different festivals, sis!

The Genesis of the Journey

The genesis of this journey lies in the aftermath of a trip to Singapore during the New Year. The torrential downpours hampered our exploration, leaving us with a sense of incompleteness. Upon returning to Thailand, a lingering feeling of "unfinished business" persisted. Have you ever experienced a trip that left you wanting more? This lingering desire sparked the conception of this renewed adventure!

This trip, we were joined by four new friends, and I ended up being the de facto tour guide! But enough chit-chat, let's get into the details of the trip, shall we? Otherwise, you might all close the window on me! ^_^!!! April 12, 2017

  • We started our journey by flying from Don Mueang Airport on Thai Lion Air flight SL100, route DMK to SIN. The plane departed at 07:40 AM Thailand time.

  • After chatting for approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes (many people wonder, who can chat for more than 2 hours? Well, that's us! ^_^!), the plane landed in Singapore at 11:20 AM (Singapore local time).

  • Upon arrival at Changi Airport, Thai Lion Air will park at Terminal 3. After exiting the aerobridge, turn left and continue walking straight ahead. You will reach the Immigration area. Take the escalator down and join the queue to clear immigration.

Note: The original text is empty, so the translation is also empty.

  • After clearing immigration, we will collect our luggage at the baggage claim.

Note: The original text is empty, so the translation is also empty.

  • The five of us in this group had one more member joining us at the airport. Their flight was scheduled to arrive around 1:20 pm local time. The three of us who were already there moved to Terminal 1 and grabbed something to eat while we waited.
  • The prices of food inside the airport were not much different from those outside. However, the restaurant we chose was half the price of the others.
  • The restaurant was called kaffe&toast. They mainly served noodle dishes, but we opted for the "baked chicken rice porridge." I must say, it was very bland. This dish cost $5.

  • Mineral water is priced at $2 per bottle.

  • Singapore's tap water is notoriously expensive, as the country does not produce its own water. Therefore, it is recommended to invest in a bottle of water and refill it as needed. Most accommodations offer free water refills, and many tourist attractions have drinkable tap water, although the taste may be slightly bland.
  • Finding the store's location is easy... the store is located in front of the check-in counter Row A (I don't remember which airline).

  • While waiting for our friend, the four of us found a place to sit near the immigration exit at T1.
  • Fast forward to when our other friend arrived at the airport, and the five of us started our journey again. Now that our group was complete, we had to travel into the city.
  • We had booked accommodation in the Chinatown area (the same area, but a different accommodation), so we had to take the MRT to get to our accommodation.

  • Start by taking the Skytrain to T2.

The provided text is empty. There is nothing to translate.

  • Follow the signs that say "Train To City" and you will find an escalator going down as shown in the picture. (You can just walk down the escalator.)

Following the directions in the image, descend the escalator and turn left. Take another escalator down to reach the basement level, where you will find the Ticket Information counter. You can purchase an EZ-Link card here. We used our existing card and topped it up with an additional $10. Our four companions purchased new cards, which cost $5 for the card itself and $7 for the initial balance, totaling $12. (These cards are valid for 5 years.)

Next, we waited for the train to take us into the city.

We boarded the green line from Changi Airport, heading towards Joo Koon (2). We rode to Tanah Merah station and transferred to the opposite platform.

Note: The original text is empty, so the translation is also empty.

  • Upon arriving at Tanah Merah, we will disembark from the train and walk to the opposite platform to wait for the train to the city. We will choose to alight at Outram Park station (approximately 12 stations away) and then transfer to the purple line, boarding the train towards Punggol (7) and alighting at Chinatown station.

  • Upon arrival at Chinatown Station, exit via Exit A Pagoda Street.

  • As you walk up the escalator, you will see Pagoda Street like this.

  • We booked our accommodation at 5footway.inn Project Chinatown 2 through the agoda website. The accommodation is easy to find. When you exit the Pagoda Street MRT station, walk straight until the end of the street. You will see the Sri Mariamman Temple on your right. Look straight ahead, across the street, and you will see the accommodation at the entrance to the alleyway on the opposite side.
  • We then walked in to check in at the counter. We chose to pay at the accommodation, so the money we paid was in Singapore dollars. The accommodation requires a keycard deposit of $20 per room, but this will be refunded when you check out.
  • After checking in, paying, and receiving the keycard, we dragged our luggage to the alleyway next to the accommodation to access our room.
  • This is the exterior of the accommodation. Oh, I forgot to mention that the entrance to our room is the door with the sticker of the stairs. You need to tap your keycard to enter.

Note: The original text is empty, so the translation is also empty.

  • The glass-walled room on the side serves as a canteen, a casual space for enjoying breakfast, snacks, drinks, coffee, or simply relaxing.

Note: The original text is empty.

  • Breakfast at the hostel includes toast, cereal, tea, coffee, and fruit. Guests can bring additional snacks from Thailand or purchase them at a 7-Eleven in Singapore. (We brought two cans of porridge, while our friends brought half a dozen instant noodles // There are many people here ^_^!!)
  • This is the interior of the building. The hostel offers both dormitory and private rooms, but the bathrooms are shared and separated by gender. We booked a single room with a double bed. The bed is attached to the wall and elevated above head height. To climb into bed, guests must use a monkey ladder. The space under the elevated bed serves as a sitting and lounging area, with enough space for several suitcases. The room also includes a sofa bed, a large wall mirror, a lamp for additional lighting, and wall-mounted clothes hangers. (Unfortunately, we forgot to take pictures of the room interior.)

After arriving at our room, my friend and I unpacked our bags, changed our pants, and sat around for a while. Looking at the clock, we realized it was already 5 pm! We quickly knocked on the boys' door, as we planned to buy tickets for various tourist attractions together. Afterwards, we would grab something to eat and then go sightseeing according to our itinerary.

  • On the way to the subway, I stopped by a few shops but didn't buy anything. I was feeling hungry but didn't want to stray too far from my main goal. I wanted something quick and easy to eat, so I came across an Old Cjang Kee fried food stall, which I had enjoyed on a previous trip. I bought an Otong Wing (fried squid tentacle) for $1.70 (it was surprisingly delicious!).
  • My next destination was SEA WHEEL TRAVEL at People's Park Center. To get there, I crossed the street and walked through Pagoda Street as usual. Then, I went down to the subway station and walked to Exit D. Taking the escalator up, I was able to enter the mall directly. (Remember, it's People's Park Center, not People's Park, which is located across the street. I got lost once before.)

Note: The original text is empty, so the translation is also empty.

  • Upon arriving at SEA WHEEL TRAVEL, we purchased tickets to Universal Studio for $62 and Garden by the Bay for $18.
  • After securing our tickets, we noticed green tents below and wondered if they sold food. Upon descending to that level, we discovered a food court! We decided to explore and choose our dinner options.
  • After surveying the food court, we decided to have dinner there. The prices were reasonable, with most dishes starting at $3-4. The portions were generous, and the food tasted authentically Chinese.

  • This is our last dish, a stir-fried seafood noodle dish. The red sauce is a spicy sauce used instead of chili powder. It costs $4.3.

  • After a satisfying dinner, we set off to our next destination: the Fountain of Wealth at Suntec City.
  • We took the purple line of the MRT, choosing the To Punggol (7) direction, and got off at Dhoby Ghaut station. We then switched to the yellow line, choosing the To Marina Bay (10) direction, and got off at Esplanade station. We followed the signs to enter Suntec City.

  • Standing at the entrance of Suntec City, you will find the Fountain of Wealth behind you.

  • We then looked for a path to descend to the fountain of wealth, but... we went down into the building and couldn't find a way out no matter how hard we looked. We planned to walk around the fountain three times to receive some good luck and fortune!!! All we could do was stand and take pictures from a distance, feeling anxious.

  • We then decided to rush to see the Wonder Full-Light & Water show at Marina Bay Sands.
  • My friend and I walked from Suntec City to Marina Bay Sands. I don't remember which way we went, but I know that we walked past all five Suntec City buildings. Normally, people get lost in deserted places, right? But we... got lost on the sidewalk! It was amazing! So we tried to open the GPS on our phone // Oh my god--the GPS told us to walk through small alleys, told us to cross the road at a 4-lane intersection with no pedestrian bridge, no crosswalk, no median strip. Wow! The safest way to travel!

  • As we walked along the small alley beside the hotel, we could see the Marina Bay Sands building in the distance. We thought to ourselves, "Wow, we're almost there!" But then we had to cross the street again. This time, we looked around for other people to see if they were crossing. If they were, we would follow them.

  • But no, I thought I could just cross over and walk to the left, but I was wrong. I had to walk to the right and go around the Esplanade station gate on the other side, in front of the microphone building.

  • After walking past this statue for a while, I finally found it... Marina Bay Sands. But wait! Where did all the people go? It's already half past eight.

Note: The original text is empty, so the translation is also empty.

  • Why is the Wonder Full-Light & Water show no longer available? I specifically invited my friends to watch it, as I missed it the previous time due to work commitments during the Countdown event. I sat there for a while, thinking it must have ended, so I decided to come back and watch it on Friday. I spent the time taking photos while I waited. During the New Year's Eve celebration, I didn't notice how beautiful the lights were at night because of the massive crowds. Today, I saw it clearly and was amazed. The financial district of Singapore looks ordinary during the day, but at night, with the lights illuminating the bay, it's breathtakingly beautiful, like something out of a photograph.

  • Follow this bridge and you will reach Merlion Park.

  • After taking photos for a while, we decided to head back to our accommodation to rest, as we had a trip to Universal Studio planned for the next day. However, on our way back, as we were about to reach the street above, we came across a group of local teenagers gathered around something exciting. It turned out to be an ice cream machine.

  • At first glance, it looks like a claw machine we have at home, but it's better because you can pay $4 and grab as many times as you want until you get an ice cream. That's the end of the game.
  • So we tried it too... The first time, my friend tried to grab it 2-3 times and got a chocolate cone. This time, it was easy, so let's try again. I put in another $4... It turned out that it wasn't easy this time, so I had to keep playing. When I didn't get it, I had to try again (I wasted 100 baht). A Thai tourist came to help me grab it, but I still didn't get it. Then a local housekeeper came to watch and cheer me on. She cheered and cheered for almost an hour. When another one came, she stopped and left!

  • The slogan on this machine actually says it all: Play-til Get one (which isn't easy, but at least you're not wasting your money!)

  • The Monorail accepts EZ-Link cards for payment. A round-trip ticket costs $3 and takes approximately 3 minutes to travel around the island. Alternatively, you can take the Cable Car for $15 (which I plan to try next time) or walk along the coast (if you have time).

Is there anything else I can help you with?

  • Upon arriving at Sentosa, we chose to disembark at the Water Front station.

  • Follow the path and you will find the colorful Merlion. Turn right and you will find Universal Studio (very easy to find).

  • Initially, I thought the crowd would be smaller because it was Songkran, the Thai New Year, not a global New Year's celebration. However, I was wrong. The place was packed with people. I wanted to take a nice picture of the golden globe alone, but I couldn't find a good angle.
  • Before entering the palace, we wandered around taking pictures outside. The weather was hot and humid, and the sky was overcast. I had a feeling that we might get caught in the rain again, like last time. But luckily, it didn't rain!
  • I saw a booth selling bubble guns, and I saw children playing happily. My inner child took over, and I started running around taking pictures in the bubble vortex with the kids! (I wanted one, but I didn't want to buy it. It was expensive! Each one cost around 200-250 baht.)

  • Next, we will take you on an adventure inside. Grab your ticket and get ready!

  • Many people are confused about the appearance of Universal tickets. We were also confused when we paid at SEA WHEEL TRAVEL and received two tickets. The first ticket was an adult Universal Studio ticket for $62. The second ticket was a $5 food discount voucher for the canteen. When we handed the tickets to the gate officer, we had to read the details on the back of the ticket instead.
  • Once inside, we encountered the HOLLYWOOD zone, as usual. There were souvenir shops on both sides of the road, and MINIONS mascots appeared at scheduled times. If you want to take photos, prepare your camera and be prepared to wait in line (but there is a time limit).

  • After the HOLLYWOOD zone, you will find the NEW YORK zone.

  • As I walked around the corner on my way to the SCI-FI zone, I came across the Malirinn Mallow show. // From afar, I thought it was the real thing. It looked so much like her. I actually wanted to join the line to take a picture with her, but... more and more people started to queue up. Time was limited, so I decided to watch from afar with concern.

  • Following the NEW YORK zone, we'll head to the SCI-FI zone... This zone features the infamous ride that everyone agrees is a must-try! It also boasts the longest queue in the park.

Translation:

  • The wait time this time was not too long, about 40 minutes, compared to the previous time when I waited for 1.5 hours. Wow, this time was much faster than I expected. Let's grab our glasses and prepare to escape the Decepticons!

  • After the Transformer ride, we headed to the Egyptian zone to ride the Mummy Roller Coaster. The queue was just as long as the Transformer ride. // This time, when asked if I was scared like the last time, I answered without hesitation: No!!! (I'm not denying it.) I was still scared as usual. It was thrilling, and my heart was pounding after the ride!!!
  • But wait, there's more... We didn't stop there. We continued on to the roller coaster. // Oh, I forgot to mention that there are two tracks. You can choose whichever one you want to scream on. There's red and white. -- We decided to choose the white track (the one with dangling legs). It looked like the most thrilling one, with 360-degree loops and rolls. -- I noticed one thing: the roller coasters here use a lot of force when they leave the platform, even more than the roller coasters back home. When it takes off, it feels like a space shuttle blasting off into the sky, waiting to fall back to earth. ^_^--

Translation:

  • After the roller coaster, we walked to The Lost World zone, where the Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure ride is located. It's similar to the Grand Canyon ride at Dream World in Thailand, where you float down a lazy river with dinosaurs greeting you along the way. Then, you enter a dark area with twists and turns before being dropped into the water again near the end. It might seem like a simple, slow-moving ride, but believe it or not, the wait time was incredibly long - 1.5 hours! We almost gave up and went back to just sitting around outside.

  • We then went to see the Water World show, which is located in The Lost World zone. It is a "stuntman" show. Water World is an American film that was very expensive to produce, but it was not as successful as expected when it was released. The acting skills of the actors in this show are quite good. There is shooting, explosions, and it looks like the action movies we watch. The story is about a heroine who is captured and the hero rides a jet ski to rescue her. They run away in a chaotic manner, climbing up and down, hanging and tumbling (the heroine that day looked good and beautiful, but I don't know who the hero was, the villain had a shiny round head ^_^).

  • Next, we moved on to the Far Far Away zone, which is a zone about Fairy Tales.

  • As we walked into the castle, we were given 3D glasses to watch a 4D movie called Shrek. At first, we were confused as to what everyone was standing around for, and it was dark. We didn't see any seats, so we sat down on the floor. After a while, the door opened and we were called inside. Ah... it was a movie theater. We waited for the previous round to come out. Inside the theater, the seats were arranged in sets of four. The chairs could rock, spray water, and blow air. At first, when it rocked, we were slightly to moderately startled. There was wind, water spray, and a spider crawling on our leg (or so it felt). It felt like we were in the movie itself. After watching for a while, our travel companion fell asleep under the 3D glasses. (The air conditioning was cold.)
  • After leaving the movie theater, we went to ride the children's roller coaster, which had a dragon at the head of the train. There was hardly anyone in line. I often think that some rides are stupid, but in their stupidity and cuteness, there is often a hidden scariness. ^0^
  • Then we went to play in the Madagascar zone and rode the A Create Adventure ride. We sat in a boat with about ten other people, and the boat floated along a waterway into the interior, which was decorated with the Madagascar jungle. As we sailed past one point, it looked like we were going to get wet, so we ducked our heads. In the end, it was a transparent curtain that gave the impression of a waterfall from a distance. We exited the ride, and by then it was already very cold. The shops were starting to close, and there were no more character shows. We looked at our watches and it was around 6:30 pm. We asked a staff member what time the park closed, and they said 7 pm. My friend saw that there was still time, so we went to ride the red roller coaster.
  • Speaking of the red roller coaster, the first train we arrived at had a minor technical error. We were riding with four friends, and we needed to sit close together. However, the seats that were assigned to us in the row were only open for one person. The staff wouldn't let us go. So we waited for the next round. // When the second train arrived, we queued up and got on. We buckled our seat belts, but we didn't get to ride--- the staff said it was time to close! They wouldn't let the ride go. We got up and walked back to the platform, looking dazed and confused. We looked up and saw the train with our friends on it arriving. We were so bummed! (I was grumbling like a bear that had been stung by a bee.)
  • We waited for the Monorail for about 30 minutes to return to Vivo City. We stopped for dinner at the Food Center there, and then took the train back to China Town.

April 14, 2017

  • Today is our last full day in Singapore. On April 15th, we have to leave early to catch our flight back to Thailand.
  • Since it's our last day, we planned to visit a temple to pray for good luck in the Thai New Year. We also wanted to show our friends a famous temple in Singapore. As it's our last day, we allowed ourselves to sleep in a little later, as we were all quite sore from walking around. If we had another day, we would have loved to just relax at the hostel and go for a walk in the evening. However, since our time is limited, we had to get up and make the most of it.
  • We started at the nearest temple, the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum. This temple is a blend of Theravada and Mahayana Buddhism and has four floors, plus a rooftop.

  • The first floor is a large hall used for various ceremonies, as well as housing various Buddha statues.

Translation:

If you have another sentence or phrase you would like me to translate, please provide it and I will be happy to assist you.

  • After paying respects to the Buddha statue for our birth year, we walked through the back of the building. There, we found a tourist information center for Chinatown and an ice cream cart with this design.

  • To be honest, I'm not sure if it was Wall's ice cream. There was a sticker on the freezer, but when I went to buy it, it turned out to be ice cream with various flavors in the middle and wafers on either side. It cost $1.60 and tasted like regular ice cream. Nothing special.

  • While we were paying, the rain started pouring heavily. At first, we were happy that we hadn't encountered any rain during our trip so far. But then, as usual, we were caught in the rain. It's truly unpredictable. The old man pushed the cart onto the road and took shelter in a tent.

  • While enjoying an ice cream cone and watching the rain, I noticed an unusual method of drying clothes. Perhaps due to the prevalence of condominiums and apartments with limited balcony space, and possibly high rental costs, residents in this area have devised a unique solution. The apartments we observed lacked balconies, so residents resort to drying their clothes by draping them over a pole and extending it out of the window. Surprisingly, even in strong winds, the clothes and pole remain secure. During the downpour, some residents left their clothes out to dry, presumably because they were away at work. It seems they simply re-hang their clothes after they get wet. This practice left me perplexed.

Translation:

  • After finishing our ice cream, we went up to the 4th floor to pay our respects to the Emerald Buddha. Photography is strictly prohibited in this area. This time, in addition to worshipping and making wishes, my friend and I also walked around the Buddha three times and meditated for about 3 minutes. This was because while making our wishes, we saw people here meditating, so we thought, "Why not give it a try and change things up?" Speaking of which, it brought us good luck, which we needed for the upcoming Thai New Year festival. Afterwards, we went up to the 5th floor, which is the rooftop, where the giant bell and flower garden are located.

  • As the rain began to subside, we took a shortcut along Smith Street to reach the Chinatown subway station, where we planned to grab a bite to eat at People's Park Center.
  • While walking, we came across a fruit stand on the side of the road. We knew immediately that the fruits were imported from Thailand. There were durians, mango sticky rice, and many other types of fruits. The prices were quite high, though.

  • We accidentally led our friends to People's Park (referring to the message on April 12th where we mentioned not to confuse the names of the malls - we were the ones who got lost). We exited through Exit E, and even though we felt something was off when the escalator didn't connect directly to the mall, we continued walking confidently. In front of the mall, there seemed to be booths selling food. We came across a booth that appeared to be selling pieces of duck and pork organs! The prices were clearly displayed, and the seller was Chinese and didn't speak English. We noticed that only Chinese people were buying from the booth.

Translation:

  • We then walked to the food court. To our surprise, the food court was located outside the mall, with pigeons circling each table. We were certain that this was not the place we had been to before, as we saw a huge sign that read "People's Park".
  • After walking back to the subway to Exit D, we entered our usual food court. As mentioned before, the food here is inexpensive, offers a wide variety of options, and is a great place to grab a bite to eat.

  • After finishing our meal, we took the blue line train to Bugis station and chose the exit towards Bukit Panjang (11) as we were heading to the Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple.
  • Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple, also known as the Goddess of Mercy Temple, is a sacred Buddhist temple in the Bugis district. We intended to pray there as this year is our unlucky year. We missed visiting the temple last time, so we were determined to make it this time. As we exited the station, we first encountered the Bugis mall. Feeling confused, we approached a booth where people were handing out something. They advised us to cross the street to the opposite side and look for the yellow food stalls. That's where the temple is, they said. We nodded in agreement.
  • Upon crossing the street, we came across what seemed like a bazaar or market with narrow alleys. We walked through the side passages and crossed another street. This time, we saw yellow apartment buildings with food courts underneath. We asked a nearby shopkeeper who told us to walk behind the building to find the temple.

  • Walking behind the yellow building, we arrived at the Guanyin Temple.

  • Upon arrival, the interior was crowded due to the limited time. We could only pay our respects by raising our hands in front of the entrance and then returned the same way.

Translation:

Stopped by the mall and bought another ice cream. They have them in Thailand too, so why buy it here? Confused. This cone cost me $9.80. (Can't remember the name of the mall, but I know it's across from Bugis.)

  • After a brief stop at our accommodation to change clothes and refill our water bottles, we continued our journey to Garden by the Bay.
  • Traveling from Chinatown to Garden by the Bay is a straightforward process. Simply board the purple line and transfer to the yellow line at Dhoby Ghaut. Then, switch to the yellow line again and choose the To Marina Bay (10) direction. Disembark at Bayfront station and take the Garden by the Bay exit. Follow the glass walkway adorned with floral and tree designs, and you will eventually reach the exit.

  • From the top, you can see the magnificent Marina Bay Sands building standing tall in the background.

  • We took a shuttle bus to get to Garden by the Bay, which cost an additional $3 for a round-trip ticket.

  • We first entered the Flower Dome, where various flowers were on display, mainly tulips.

After a short walk, you will encounter a display of trees from the African continent.

  • The interior passageway is characterized by a steep incline, with constant ascents and descents. After a short walk, one emerges at the lower level, which is adorned with an abundance of tulips and various other flowers.

  • Next, we continued to the Cloud Forest Dome, a venue for displaying plants from humid regions. Inside the dome, the air is cool and cold. The most popular attraction in the dome is the waterfall...yes, you read that right. You might be wondering how a waterfall can be inside a dome, but it's a popular photo spot here. Don't miss it!

  • The upper section that resembles rabbit ears is a walkway. We did not ascend to this section due to the extensive walking we had already done, the onset of evening, and fatigue in our feet.

  • Before reaching the elevator, we came across a garden like this. What you see are monkey cups and pitcher plants. Kudos to the person who designed this garden! See those red things? I want to tell you that it's Lego. Yes... The monkey cups and pitcher plants that we saw were made from Lego. Wow!!! Amazing.

  • We happened to stumble upon the Supertree Grove light and sound show, "Garden Rhapsody," during our stroll. The show, featuring the Rainforest Orchestra – Australasia and Oceania, is a free 15-minute performance held twice daily.
  • The Supertree Grove hosts a complimentary light and sound show called "Garden Rhapsody," featuring the Rainforest Orchestra – Australasia and Oceania. The show runs twice daily for 15 minutes each.

After the show, we planned to walk back to the shuttle bus stop, which we remembered was located in front of the Flower Dome. However, we couldn't find it. Our friend asked a staff member, who informed us that the shuttle service had ended at 9 pm. We were disappointed because we had planned to watch the light show at Marina Bay. As a result, we had to walk from Garden by the Bay,沿着滨海湾金沙酒店后面的区域,沿着螺旋桥和水上运动场走了一段路。

  • As I approached the front of Marina Bay Sands, there were no lights or people in sight. I asked someone nearby, and they informed me that the event had already concluded. Disappointed, I decided to rest my legs for a while before heading back to my accommodation. While walking, I noticed a large crowd gathered, with cheers, applause, and music filling the air. I stopped to watch for a moment, realizing it was a performance by a high school marching band. The area was packed with people, and it seemed to be a popular hangout spot for teenagers. Security guards were present around the perimeter.

  • Disappointed with the Wonder Full-Light & Water show, we headed to the train station to return to our accommodation. However, the closest and most convenient station from Marina Bay is Raffles Place. My friend, relying on GPS, suggested City Hall or Esplanade as closer options. Okay, let's walk to Esplanade Station, I thought, as it's located beside the durian-shaped building. Little did I know, following the signs in the station, I somehow ended up in a shopping mall. I knew I had walked a long way, aimlessly wandering around. My legs were exhausted! ^_^

Today marks the final moments of my stay in Singapore. This morning, after breakfast, I checked out of the hotel and dragged my luggage away.

  • We returned to the airport by MRT as usual, but this time we chose the blue line and changed to the green line at Bugis. It felt much closer than the first time, or maybe I'm just imagining it!
  • We flew back with Thai Lion Air as usual, flight SL101. Oh, I forgot to mention that the check-in counter is at Terminal 3. There was no one there when we went. The boarding gate was Gate A21, which we had to reach by taking the train marked Gate A15-A21. When we arrived, it said "Gate Closed" in red, so we ran like crazy! We were afraid of missing our flight!

Summary of expenses for this trip

  • Round-trip airfare with Thai Lion Air: 4,740 baht
  • Accommodation: 3,330 baht per person (3 nights, 2 rooms. We pooled the price of all rooms and divided it among 5 people to ensure everyone paid the same amount.)
  • Pocket money: 10,000 baht with approximately 1,300 baht remaining (This covers the cost of train tickets, food, souvenirs, entrance fees to various attractions, and miscellaneous expenses.)
  • International travel insurance: 280 baht (Krungthai AXA)

--- Thank you for following along to the very end, everyone. See you on our next trip! ---
