Some people say that #Mae Kampong has nothing to offer, so why spend several days there?
They say that Mae Kampong is just a small village that you can explore in a single day!
.
If you think that way, I can only say that you're missing out on a lot!
For us, just the first time we visited...
We knew that #one day wouldn't be enough.
.

"Mae Kampong" is a small village surrounded by a vast forest, rivers, and mountains.
It is located 1300 meters above sea level.

#Village of the Stream, where the source of the waterfall
is the origin of the clear stream that flows through, providing moisture to every corner.
#Ecotourism village
where the villagers work together to preserve the nature of the forest, headwaters, and their way of life in an excellent way.
#Village of the Mountains
where the weather is cold all year round, even during the summer season when we visited.

.
There are so many things here that make us fall in love with it, and we are sure we will be back again...for sure.

#The Charm of Mae Kampong

A visit to Mae Kampong is incomplete without dipping your feet in the water. Every corner of the village boasts stunning streams, waterfalls, and crystal-clear water that beckons you to cool off.

#The Story of Mae Kampong

This century-old village is graced by a stream that flows through its heart. Along its banks, vibrant yellow and red flowers, known as "ดอกกำปอง" by the locals, bloom in abundance. When the villagers established their community, they named it "Mae Kampong" after these beautiful blossoms.

Everywhere we explored, every shop, every viewpoint, the scenery was breathtaking.
We lost track of time, wandering, relaxing, and taking photos for at least an hour at each stop.
How could one day be enough to truly get to know Mae Kampong?
Here are some of the must-see spots where we captured stunning images. Let's take a look.

#Mae Kampong is not difficult to get to. If you drive yourself, it only takes about an hour from Chiang Mai city.
On this trip, we were lucky to have a local guide, the lovely Nong Noi, who helped us plan our trip and drove us to all the places we wanted to go. This meant we didn't miss any of the spots we had planned to visit. Let me tell you about the #must-visit spots in Mae Kampong, divided into two sections.

🌿 The first section of the village includes #Royal Project Teentok, #Pha Nam Lod, #Sawang Kata, and #Teddu Coffee.
🔘Royal Project Teentok is the first place we drove past. It has a shop, accommodation, and a restaurant where you can stop and walk around.
🔘 Pha Nam Lod is only a few tens of meters from the first place.
🔘 Sawang Kata is on the opposite side, diagonally across from Pha Nam Lod. Walk across the bridge over the small stream and you'll be there in no time.
🔘 Teddu Coffee is located on the way into the village, just a short drive from Sawang Kata. It's best to keep Google Maps open, as the sign in front of the shop is easy to miss if you're not paying attention.

.
🌿 Location at the end of the village #UnclePudPaPungHouse #KanthaPhruksaTemple #Birdwatching #SamranChonHomestay
🔘Uncle Pud Pa Pung House #HimHuai Village, the most popular spot in Mae Kampong
A beautiful wooden house with walls that everyone who comes to Mae Kampong must queue up to take pictures.
🔘KanthaPhruksa Temple, the only temple in Mae Kampong Village.
With a #floating church, beautifully standing out amidst a small waterfall cliff with water flowing all year round.
🔘Birdwatching, a popular coffee shop located at the highest point.
Overlooking the lush green mountains that surround Mae Kampong Village.
🔘SamranChon Homestay, a natural wooden house near the waterfall almost at the beginning of the stream.
Designed in a stylish way to make us feel like we are walking on a tree house, climbing the forest all over.
.

Have you ever been to Mae Kampong? Come and see if there are any angles in the photos we took that you missed!

A Hidden Gem: Sawanka Ta, a Small Wooden Cafe with Million-Dollar Waterfall Views

This small cafe, located near the Royal Project Teentok, is easily missed with its unassuming wooden shack facade. However, behind this humble exterior lies a hidden gem: a breathtaking waterfall view that offers a refreshing escape and picture-perfect moments.

This shop has a great slogan

"Love is like coffee, shaking in the heart, bright in the eyes"

🔘 Water-eroded Cliff, a large rock cliff eroded by a stream of water that can pass through.

  • The latest tourist attraction in Mae Kampong Village, designed with a wooden balcony over a stream of water, surrounded by a large rock in the middle, allowing you to lean back against the rock, sit and enjoy the breeze and the stream amidst the mountains. There is also a restaurant where you can have a romantic dinner by the stream in the middle of the forest.

TEDDU COFFEE: A Cat Cafe Nestled in a Waterfall Paradise

Nestled amidst the lush mountains and cascading waterfalls of Mae Kampong, TEDDU COFFEE offers a unique experience for both cat lovers and nature enthusiasts. While renowned as a haven for feline aficionados, the cafe's true magic lies in its breathtaking setting.

Imagine dipping your toes in the cool, refreshing waters of a waterfall as you sip on a steaming cup of aromatic tea. The gentle murmur of the cascading water and the playful antics of the resident cats create a symphony of tranquility, inviting you to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Though the cafe doesn't offer food, the delectable teas and the mesmerizing ambiance are enough to keep you captivated for hours. Time seems to stand still as you immerse yourself in the beauty of nature and the playful charm of the feline residents.

Whether you're a cat enthusiast or simply seeking a serene escape, TEDDU COFFEE promises an unforgettable experience.

🔘 Wat Kantha Phrueksa

The only temple in Mae Kampong village with a #waterside chapel, standing out beautifully
amidst a small waterfall with water flowing all year round.

To capture stunning photographs, the photographer must often stand in the middle of the flowing water.

🔘 Birdwatching and Coffee at the Popular Chom Nok Chom Mai Cafe, the Highest Viewpoint

This cafe offers a stunning view of the lush green mountains surrounding Mae Kampong village. The best time to visit is in the morning, as the afternoon sun can be quite strong, making it difficult to sit and enjoy the view for long periods.

A popular spot that should not be missed, although it may be a little scary for those who are afraid of heights. However, the view is absolutely breathtaking.

🔘 Him Huai Homestay: A Scenic Gem in Mae Kampong

Nestled amidst the lush greenery of Mae Kampong, Him Huai Homestay stands as a captivating landmark, drawing visitors with its unique architectural charm. This wooden house, affectionately known as "Uncle Pud Pa Peng's House," has become a must-visit destination, offering breathtaking views and serving as a popular spot for photography enthusiasts.

Beyond its picturesque facade, Him Huai Homestay offers a welcoming haven for travelers seeking a tranquil escape. The homestay provides comfortable accommodation, while the adjoining café invites guests to savor delicious coffee amidst the soothing sounds of a nearby stream. Its prime location in the heart of the village grants easy access to all the attractions Mae Kampong has to offer, making it an ideal base for exploring the area's natural beauty and cultural richness.

Inside Uncle Pud and Aunt Pung's house is a beautiful coffee shop with a great view and a stream flowing through it.

The pastries are delicious, the coffee is fragrant, and…well, let's just say we stayed for a long time.

A Serene Escape at Samran Chon Homestay: A Nature-Immersed Retreat by a Cascading Waterfall

Nestled amidst the lush greenery, Samran Chon Homestay offers a unique and refreshing experience. Designed to resemble a treehouse, the wooden structure invites guests to explore its various levels, reminiscent of climbing through a forest canopy. With affordable rates starting in the hundreds, the homestay provides a variety of accommodation options, catering to both small and large groups. Guests can choose from rooms with private or shared bathrooms, ensuring comfort and flexibility.

Our stay in a cozy room for three, complete with a private bathroom, offered a breathtaking view of the cascading waterfall from our balcony. The sound of the rushing water created a tranquil ambiance, perfect for relaxation and rejuvenation. The cost of our stay, including breakfast, amounted to 750 baht per person, making it an incredibly value-for-money option.

For more information and booking inquiries, please visit the Samran Chon Homestay Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/sumranchon/

We chose to stay here because, judging from the coordinates, #SamranChon seemed to be the homestay furthest upstream. The stream flowing through it looked strong and fun to play in. We planned to lie down and play in the waterfall stream in the house to our heart's content. But when we woke up to a temperature of 18 degrees, we could only walk around and play in the water. Oh well! Even that was amazing.

Eat well, sleep well, good air, happy

Breathe the fresh air of the lush upstream forest

Experience the slow, still, happy, peaceful way of life of the Mae Kampong people

Get one picture, a beautiful couple picture
In many angles that not many people have seen yet

I can only say that

❤️Love Mae Kampong❤️
