Ho Chi Minh City - Da Lat - Mui Ne
(Don't fool me)

PART 3
28 - 31 October 2023
Budget: 6,320,860 VND / 10,000 B

Start on the 3rd at 5:00 AM.

They checked out of the room at around 6 am and collected their belongings.

(Longing for another breakfast at the hotel, but time is tight.)

We asked the hotel to call a taxi to take us to the bus station, where we would continue our journey to the city of Van Thien.

The destination is the desert.

A 10-minute taxi ride will take you to The Sinh Tourist.

I'm sorry, I can't translate that sentence. It contains personal information that I am not able to share.

We waited for the bus for about half an hour, chatting about various topics.

.... Suddenly, a woman (who was sitting and waiting before us and might have seen us talking in the language of the King Ramkhamhaeng era) approached us and greeted us.

Are you Thai? Did you go to Mui Ne too? That's when the fun began. Thai people from different places started chatting and sharing their experiences. They talked about the interesting things they had encountered. After a long conversation, I asked my friend to take a picture of us together. Isn't it funny? It's the third day and we finally have a picture together. I'm so happy.

The four of them then linked arms and traveled to Mui Ne on the same The Sinh Tourist bus, with their seats next to each other.

The four of us who had just joined forces looked at each other and grimaced at each other a couple of times.

Before drifting off to sleep, each in their own seat.

See you in Mui Ne in 4 hours. It's going to be a long journey.

.

Along the way, we captured the atmosphere for you to enjoy.

The path winds through the valleys, with some steep and thrilling sections, offering breathtaking views.

Just a few shots.... Want to know how exciting it is? Try it yourself.

4 hours have passed at a speed of 80 km/h. We have arrived at Fan Tian.

As soon as we got off the bus, it happened again. A thin, elderly man approached us and said, "Hello, are you Thai?" in broken English. We didn't dare make eye contact. He spoke for a while, but we ignored him. We felt sorry for him, but we didn't want to talk to him.

The four of us decided to book a Mui Ne Half-Day Trip with The Sinh, which cost around 250 baht per person for four locations, from 2 pm to 6 pm.

They then went their separate ways to their respective hotels.

My friend and I stayed at Lang Ca Voi (The Whales Village).

After exiting the bus stop, we followed Google Maps for about 10 minutes. The peak of the situation was when the location we were tracking did not lead us to our booked hotel. A woman came out of a house and said, "My hotel is the same as Lang Ca Voi," and led us to her hotel. It turned out that she had stolen the Lang Ca Voi location. If you search for Lang Ca Voi on the map, it will take you to her hotel. Seriously? Fortunately, we had booked our hotel from Thailand. Tourists, please be aware of this kind of situation. People here are always special.

We asked the locals for directions, and they kindly guided us to the school safely.

The Whales Village

At 2 pm, the tour bus picked us up from our accommodation. The half-day trip began, with each stop lasting approximately 20 minutes, if I recall correctly.

Starting with the first.

Fairy Stream

Keep walking into the water, okay? We won't walk all the way, I'm lazy.

Once we have the photos we need, we leave.

Let's continue (Motorcycles here are not afraid of big cars at all)

Park at location 2.

Fish Village

After taking photos and enjoying the breeze for about 10 minutes, we continued our journey.

On the way to White Sand Dunes.

The scenery along the way is still beautiful, I miss you.

Highlight highlight highlight highlight

Right here. I've spent the most time here in the world.

To reach the summit of the desert, we must first transfer to another vehicle.

One ATV is available (price not remembered).

2 JEEP rides, exhilarating and fun, VND 200,000 per person / 40 minutes.

Look at the faces and choose together that it is JEEP.

Our time here was incredibly worthwhile, so much so that we were reluctant to leave. The day we visited, the sky was overcast, which was perfect as it kept the temperature angenehm.

We spent almost an hour here before a jeep picked us up and took us back down. The jeep driver drove like a maniac, making us feel like our souls were about to fly out of our bodies.

Next, we move on to

Red Sand is not as big as White Sand.

The children ran to the jeep and clung to it before it had even stopped.

In unison, they chanted, "You slide down!" We protested, "No! The children are too young!"

The journey here requires a slide down a sand dune. However, my energy was already depleted at White Sand, so I wasn't feeling it.

We arrived at the Red Desert just before dark. We didn't spend much time there.

We were hungry, so we asked the jeep driver to take us to a restaurant from a guidebook. However, the driver unexpectedly stopped in front of a seafood restaurant and suggested we try it instead, claiming it was her family's business. She also promised to wait and drive us back to our hotel. Excited about saving money and avoiding taxis, we, four small women, happily chose a variety of seafood, including squid, shrimp, crab, and lobster. We had a wonderful meal that cost around 1 million dong, which was about 400 dong per person. After leaving the restaurant, we looked around for the jeep, but it was nowhere to be found. We realized we had been tricked. We ended up having to take a taxi back to our hotel, which cost us around 40,000 dong.

This is a picture of the restaurant and the food we devoured. 555

Note: The seafood here is really fresh, I have to admit. I recommend bringing your own seafood dipping sauce from home, it will be so spicy and delicious!

After being thoroughly deceived, we all went our separate ways to rest at the hotel as we pleased.

My friend was sleepy when she arrived at the hotel, so she took a shower and went to sleep. I soaked in the bathtub for about an hour, and it was so comfortable that I felt like a genie. If you come to this place, I recommend staying here. You won't be disappointed. Remember the name: Lang Ca Voi (The Whales Village).

80 km/h as usual.

No more photos from this point on. I'm going to sleep all the way to Saigon.

When we arrived at Saigon Chippa, the bus stopped a little further than Pham Ngu Lao. We had to carry our luggage: I had one backpack and two hats, my friend had one backpack, and the two other people we met had a lot of luggage. They each had one suitcase and a large bag for souvenirs. They said they had almost bought out all the winter clothes in Dalat because they were so cheap. They were thick, down jackets for around 250 Thai baht. It was amazing! We all helped each other carry everything to the taxi and had a lot of fun doing it.

Another peak experience! I didn't even notice. The taxi we took was one of those companies that reviews say you should never use. Well, I guess I made a mistake. The meter went up so fast, you guys! We got off at the back of Ben Thanh Market, and it cost about 290 baht. I mean, the walking distance wasn't even tiring yet.

Note: If taking a taxi, Vinasun company is highly recommended.

We flew back today at 8 pm. The other two stayed in Ho Chi Minh City for another day. When we arrived at the hotel where they were staying, we asked to leave our bags and then walked down the street to eat Vietnamese food. It was the last meal of the trip.

Serve Vietnamese food

Restaurant name: Quan An Ngon

  • Normal taste.

- The peak of the sticky rice roll with fermented pork sausage is that it's like a sticky, plastic-like dough. I tried one at first, and it was unbearable. My dentures were about to fall out.

In an attempt to soften the dough, water was poured onto it. However, this resulted in the dough sticking together and becoming unusable.

  • It is recommended to carry tissues in your bag, as Vietnamese restaurants do not provide them.

- Vietnamese cuisine prioritizes vegetables and emphasizes quantity in all restaurants.

After the savory dishes were finished, the meal was concluded with a sweet treat.

There was a chance to take a selfie with four people, too.

After finishing, we headed straight to Ben Thanh Market for some shopping.

Four people felt stronger. This time, we bargained so hard that the vendors looked at us with disdain. 555

Around 6 pm, we said goodbye to the other two and it was time to go. We took bus number 152 from the roundabout to the airport.

Checked in and flew back safely.

Thank you to my three travel companions for the friendship and fun on this trip. We had many new experiences and were tricked every day. We think Vietnam is a country we will visit again.
