Thailand's westernmost province.

Get ready to be captivated by the stunning scenery and exhilarating ride.
Stay tuned for our captivating report from Journey Travel With Us!
- DAY : 1 ( 13 / 8 /17 )
Set off on a journey with my trusty old HONDA CB500X motorcycle, stopping to fill up the tank first.
We were accompanied by two other vehicles:
Ducati Scrambler and Kawasaki Versys 650
Entering the province of Kanchanaburi.... Welcome
A cool breeze mixed with a hint of warmth, empty roads, and a relaxed drive.
This is my first time visiting this province. Looking at the many tourist attractions on the signs, I wonder if I'll be able to see them all.
We stopped for breakfast at the Thong Pha Phum Subdistrict Municipality.
Ride in a bit and you'll find a rice-with-curry shop. Feel free to serve yourself as much as you like.
Besides rice with curry, there are also noodles. This is another option for those who like to eat noodles.
Our stomachs full, we continued our journey, our destination being the E-tong Village.
Each journey is unique. Some paths may lead to solitude, while others bring unexpected companions from diverse backgrounds, all united by a shared destination.
I will always be here to support you, no matter how tired you are.
Route Description: The route is a narrow, winding path along the mountainside. The road is relatively narrow, but vehicles can pass each other. I don't know how many curves we've passed, but it's a lot! The road is in good condition in some sections, but there are also potholes and bumps in other areas.
After riding for a while, we reached the scenic viewpoint at Km 12, which also serves as a cell phone reception point. It's a decent viewpoint, and the rain that started falling coincidentally provided us with a chance to rest and take shelter.
After a decent break, we continued our journey for an extended period.
Welcome to E-Tong
The village is not immediately visible from the sign. You will need to ride further in, but the road is good and the ride is pleasant.
Riding until I saw a beautiful view of the mountains in the distance. >o< I wonder if it's… Khao Chang Puak, where people like to go hiking.
Hello, E-tong! I'm here!
There is no text to translate. Please provide the text you want me to translate.
Let's check in to our accommodation for tonight first. E-tong Village has many homestays to choose from.
We stayed at Hill House Pilok in Pilok, which costs 800 baht per room.
Take a short walk down the slope and turn into the small lane on the left.
The room is equipped with a fan, is clean, has a TV, and can accommodate an additional mattress next to the bed.
The bathroom is spacious and well-equipped with a water heater. It also has a balcony, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the view.
Our stomachs are rumbling, our supplies are packed, let's go out and have some fun! !!!!
We haven't abandoned our motorcycles just because we've switched to riding in a pickup truck.
Two more friends drove with us on our trip, so we didn't take many photos on the way there. Haha!
The best part of this trip is having a car to carry our luggage and supplies. 😂
Our first stop today is **Jork Ka Din Waterfall**.
The entrance fee is 40 baht per person. At the entrance, there is a brief history of the Jok Kradin.
We then need to walk for another 300 meters.
Let the world know >> where I've been << and support the travel pages of these two friends.
Jork Kradin Waterfall
One of the waterfalls in Thong Pha Phum National Park, this single-tiered waterfall flows over a high cliff and has water flowing all year round. It is very beautiful when the water splashes down to the ground, turning into a group of water vapor floating up.
Highlight: The waterfall cascades into a large pool at the bottom, resembling a miniature sea with constant waves. During the green season, the water is particularly strong and abundant, boasting a turquoise hue. The sandy bottom makes it an ideal spot for swimming.
Drenched, we continued to sit and enjoy the cool breeze in Thong Pha Phum National Park.
Let's take you to see the view at the Milky Way Hill.
Breathtaking! The front view is simply dazzling.
The ground is covered in moss, indicating that it is likely the rainy season. The lush greenery is a testament to the abundance of moisture.
Khao Kud Doi
This viewpoint offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and the Vachiralongkorn Dam reservoir. It is also a popular spot for watching sunrises and breathtaking sea of mist, making it a must-visit destination within Thong Pha Phum National Park.
The distance from Thong Pha Phum National Park to the Thai-Burmese Friendship Bridge is just a short distance beyond E-Tong village. Be prepared to get wet again, even if the river is dry, as this is a border crossing between Burma and Thailand, and the weather is unpredictable. Rain and fog can appear and disappear at any time, with no set pattern.
Drive a little further, this point is called the Friendship Bridge between Burma and Thailand.
The dense fog is due to the convergence of air masses, resulting in light rain and high humidity.
We've had our fill of fun, so let's head back to the resort to shower and change, then we can go out and find some dinner. Sounds good?
The village atmosphere in the early evening appears calmer and quieter than usual. It seems that only tourists like us are wandering around looking for restaurants. From what we have explored, there are not many restaurants here, only about 3-4.
On the day of our visit, the only restaurant open was Jeh Nee. This establishment offers seafood sourced from the Andaman Sea and Myanmar. Unfortunately, we arrived too late, and the seafood had already sold out, preventing us from trying it.
The kitchen closes at 9 pm, but you are welcome to continue dining.
We ordered eight dishes together and were completely satisfied. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The total cost of the meal was 1,350 baht. We started with:
- Sea bass with fish sauce
- Shrimp baked with glass noodles
- Spicy stir-fried wild boar
- Fluffy omelet
- Salt-crusted chicken
- Stir-fried cabbage with fish sauce
- Stir-fried sweet peas with oyster sauce
- Creamy catfish tom yum
Good night, sweet dreams. Zzz
- DAY : 2 ( August 14, 2017 )
It is currently 6:00 AM. Let's wake up and go see the sea of fog at Khao Chang Suk.
The route to Khao Chang Si is surrounded by mountains, with narrow roads and some sections of dirt and gravel.
The sun shines on the sky, signaling a new day.
Scenic View & Morning at Khao Chang Suk
This breathtaking view and refreshing air are surprisingly close to Bangkok. The sky here is constantly shifting between open and closed, so be ready to capture the moment it opens up.
The officer pointed out the distant sea of mist, remarking that it marked the border with Myanmar, a neighboring country within close proximity.
Unfortunately, the weather took a turn for the worse and the sky clouded over just as we were about to take our photos. As a result, all our photos are shrouded in thick fog. We waited patiently for the fog to clear, but to no avail. We'll have to try again next time.
The group is starting to get hungry, so we will ride down to the E-tong village to find something to eat.
Explore the surroundings of E-tong village, a village nestled amidst the mountains and shrouded in mist.
At the entrance to E-Tong Market, we will encounter the Muang Ra Bridge.
Alright! Let's continue exploring the E-Tong market.
The morning market bustles with activity as people throng the stalls, searching for a variety of food and souvenirs.
This local eatery in E-tong is the only place to find delicious crêpes.
And here's another thing... for those who visit E-tong, they often write on small wooden plaques like this, similar to checking in to say they've arrived. You can write whatever you want on it. They only cost 20 baht each.
The completed work was then hung by the riverside at the E-Tong Village Bridge.
Or, if you turn to the other side, you can hang on this iron cage as well.
The sentence is empty. Please provide a sentence or phrase to translate.
E Tong is a true hidden gem nestled amidst the mist! This small village preserves the traditional way of life of its inhabitants, primarily ethnic Burmese. The village boasts a scenic viewpoint offering breathtaking views of the majestic Elephant Tusk Mountain.
Hellooooooooooo . . . The feeling is real 5555555
A small pond sits at the center, surrounded by houses, homestays, shops, and hills.
399 curves later, we are the Pilock Conquerors.
We found a breakfast place! Today we're eating at Krua Sud Dan, a restaurant right by the pond.
As you walk along, you will see a small dog named Kapi welcoming visitors.
This morning, we're starting light with a single-dish meal.
The signature dish of this restaurant is the hotpot steamed egg. It's incredibly satisfying to eat while it's hot, with its soft and fluffy texture. It's absolutely delicious.
We spent 480 baht today.
After a satisfying meal, we continued our journey to explore the Pilok Mine.
Everyone may have heard a lot about the history of this place and what has happened here.
Only remnants of tools remain, a testament to the past.
Another highlight within the mine is the true abundance of natural resources.
A few steps further, and we found the bliss we were looking for.
A small pond and waterfall are naturally formed within the area.
The water is clear and green, and the fish swim freely, making for a pleasant sight.
Personally, I believe I may return to E-tong again. I enjoy this type of atmosphere.
The tranquility, the simplicity, the naturalness—it's all so captivating.
It's like being in a trance-like village, like a dream.
For those seeking a camping experience, E-tong offers designated areas for campers.
Nestled in the heart of E-tong village, a charming array of cozy cafes awaits, inviting you to savor a cup of coffee while immersing yourself in the tranquil ambiance.
There are postcard shops and souvenir shops where you can buy gifts for yourself and your loved ones.
It's time to continue our journey. Today's plan is to visit Srinagarind National Park.
The road was clear, making for a smooth and enjoyable ride. The comfortable seat allowed for a long and relaxing journey.
Now that we're here, let's take a commemorative photo at the Vajiralongkorn Dam.
As we will be camping and pitching tents tonight, we stopped by the market to buy some cooking equipment.
With supplies replenished, we continued our journey.
The long distance and the scorching sun made me exhausted. I really wanted to jump into the water.
We have arrived!
It is currently 4:00 PM. Initially, I planned to arrive in time to play at the Huai Mae Khamin Waterfall, but after thinking about it, it is already late. If I go play, I can only play for a short time and then have to rush back to prepare food. So I changed my plan to play tomorrow morning instead.
The plan changed suddenly. We were originally going to camp, but we had to change it.
Due to a request from a member to sleep overnight at a house within the park.
Every time we camp, it rains. We don't want to risk it because we are here during the rainy season.
We stayed at Baan Wang Na Pha.
The surrounding atmosphere is lush, with a cool breeze and a peaceful ambiance. The accommodation is divided into rooms, each accommodating 3-4 people.
Payment completed. 800 baht per night. The staff will provide you with a room key for self-unlocking.
The room is equipped with a fan and a sleeping mat. The bathroom has a hot water heater, while the toilet is separate. Notably, the sink is located directly in front of the toilet.
We can also sit on the balcony to enjoy the fresh air and the beautiful natural view in front of us.
It's time for dinner.
Working together, hand in hand, picking vegetables, grilling fish, and roasting pork.
This angle offers an excellent view of the scenery in front.
Out of stock! I had to rush to buy from a grocery store located inside the park. This store was recommended by the staff.
In addition to selling groceries, it is also a made-to-order restaurant.
Returning to the cooking, our chef today seems very serious about cutting the pork bones.
Hooray! This is the dinner we created together. It looks delicious and tastes amazing. We're so proud of ourselves! 555
After finishing the meal, the dishes were washed and put away neatly. At this moment, the surroundings were pitch black. While sitting, the lights went out completely for a moment. Fortunately, we had brought a lamp with us, which seemed to be powered by a generator, as the light flickered and dimmed constantly.
Good morning, the last day of the Kanchanaburi trip.
It's time to jump into the cool water for a swim (even though it's early in the morning).
Tourists are advised to observe the following restrictions:
Walk, walk, walk, go in a little bit, please.
We were unable to visit all levels of Huai Mae Khamin due to time constraints.
We need to play quickly and return to collect our belongings to check out by noon.
Mae Khamin Waterfall has 7 levels, but they are not in a continuous sequence.
We then emerged on the 5th floor, named Lost in the Flow. This floor has very little water, so we passed through it quickly.
Continuing on, you will reach the 6th floor, known as "Dong Phi Suea." This level features a continuous flow of naturally green, clear water.
And the final floor where we played water today was the 7th floor, Rorm Klao.
Take a break from the heat and relax your body and mind. Let's have fun with the cool, green, natural waterfalls.
After playing until our hands and feet were sore, we decided to go out and find something to eat. We were starting to get hungry!
Breakfast + Lunch is the same shop where we bought things yesterday evening.
Shop name: Pin Pai Rot
The surrounding atmosphere is very shady and cool due to the abundance of trees, making it pleasantly cool.
Write down whatever you want to eat, but the writing will be a bit strange. 55555 You can write it upside down, is that amazing?
In addition to food, there are also snacks, milk, butter, and all kinds of drinks available.
As there were no customers at the moment, our gang volunteered to help the aunt showcase her skills.
The kind-hearted aunt generously offered us her homemade food and encouraged us to take as much rice as we wanted.
It feels like having dinner at a friend's house and helping their mom cook. It's really fun and lively in the kitchen! 55555
This is why I went to help my aunt, because she was doing it alone and I was afraid she would be lonely. (Just kidding... I was hungry.)
We each ordered a plate of rice with a side dish, and there were 3 dishes in total.
The presentation of each dish is visually appealing, a testament to both my friend's and the chef's skills. The flavors are equally delightful, eliciting a profound sense of satisfaction.
This dish is salted shredded chicken, it's incredibly flavorful. Highly recommend ordering it if you come here.
A Delicious Tofu, Egg, and Minced Pork Soup
This sentence describes a dish called "ต้มจืดเต้าหู้ไข่หมูสับ" (tôm chuət dtaohu kâi mǔu sap), which translates to "clear soup with tofu, egg, and minced pork." The writer mentions that their friend made the dish themselves and that it looked good and tasted delicious.
Som Tum Thad is a must-try. The side dishes are plentiful. Oh my, I love Auntie!
Food and people were ready. Within 30 minutes of taking this picture, everything was gone!
This meal cost us 830 baht. It was definitely worth it to eat at Auntie's restaurant. But whether it was worth it for Auntie, well, that's not a question we should ask. 55555
After a satisfying meal, we returned to bathe and change clothes, ready to embark on our return journey.
Waving goodbye to Huai Mae Khamin, I'll be back to conquer all its levels.
