Vang Vieng...Where the Heart Calls

This trip came about because of a desire to travel abroad, but I didn't know where to go. Then I saw an activity from a travel-sharing group organizing a trip to Vang Vieng, Laos. Wow... my eyes lit up! I've wanted to go there for a long time, so I checked out the details and costs, which weren't too expensive. Plus, I didn't have to figure out the travel routes myself like I usually do when I backpack. So, this trip was a full-fledged adventure. It was a 3-day, 2-night trip with a total of 11 members, and of course, one of those members was me. But hey!!!... I was okay with it. 555 I'd go alone. I'd make friends along the way. So, let's go....

We arrived at immigration control around 6 am.

At the immigration checkpoint, there are money exchange services available. However, it is not necessary to exchange a large amount of money, as some shops accept Thai baht.

The morning market area is bustling with public transportation and taxis.

Grab a bite to eat before boarding the train.

The group members are preparing to board the bus.

The driver's side is on the left.

Sukhsomboon Guesthouse

We slept by the window.

Surrounding views of the accommodation

The Orange Bridge, a popular spot for visitors to Vang Vieng to take記念 photos.

On the way to Tham Luang Cave.

The path to Tham Chang Cave is a steep staircase... Are you up for it, boss? 55

Upon reaching the top, you will be greeted by breathtaking views.

Next to the path leading up to the cave.

The water is clear and safe for swimming.

Souvenirs from the walk back from Tham Luang Cave

Dinner: sticky rice, papaya salad, grilled chicken.

Menus like this, with a wide variety of options, are displayed at almost every restaurant you visit. You can choose whatever you want to eat.

Banana and egg roti, coming right up!

At night, stop by the Sakura Bar.

On the morning of the 2nd, we traveled to the Blue Lagoon, where we enjoyed a variety of activities, including diving, zip-lining, and water swings.

The lower diving platform is not very high.

Since I'm already here, I might as well jump from the top floor. I'm not sure how high it is, but it looks like about two stories.

After playing in the water, we took a car to the water cave. Along the way, we saw natural views on both sides of the road.

Walking through the rice fields.

The path continues in this manner.

Lunch break before going to sit on a rubber ring into the cave.

The guide distributed headlamps and life jackets, then led us into the cave by pulling a rope. The cave was dark and the water was very cold, but it was a lot of fun.

On the way back from Tham Nam, you will pass Tham Chang. Inside the cave, there are Buddha statues for you to worship, and there is a rock that looks like an elephant next to it.

Take a car to the designated kayak launch point.

The guide will provide instructions and demonstrate kayaking techniques before allowing you to begin paddling.

A group photo with strangers before going kayaking.

Kayaking on the Song River

I'm here alone, without a paddling partner... then let's go with the guide.
