When the rain comes, the first place that often comes to mind is Kanchanaburi Province. It wouldn't be wrong to call it our third home, as we visit so frequently. This time, we opted for a peaceful retreat to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and find a place to cleanse our lungs for a day. The resort we chose for this trip was The Float House River Kwai in Kanchanaburi. We've captured the ambiance for you to enjoy, in case you'd like to follow in our footsteps.

This floating resort is surrounded by lush nature and tranquility. Guests can enjoy a refreshing dip in the water right from their rooms, while maintaining a high level of privacy. However, access is limited to boat transportation only. Visitors can park their cars and board the boat at the Phutakian Pier (Resotel). The journey takes approximately 15 minutes.

The atmosphere here provides a sense of complete disconnection from the outside world. One could even call it a social media detox haven, haha! While phone signal is intermittent, fear not, internet addicts, as Wi-Fi is available for those who simply cannot live without posting updates for their friends.

Let's take a look inside our room. We got room number V4, which is located near the beginning of the floating raft. It's a bit of a walk, but once you open the door, the room is incredibly spacious...

The layout of the living space is well-proportioned and clean in every corner, especially the bathroom, which I really like. Another thing is that when you open the front door of the room, you are greeted by a stream, mountains, and a wide open space with a hammock for you to lie down and listen to the sound of the water. It's truly peaceful and quiet.

The weather was quite hot on the day we arrived, not a single drop of rain. Haha, I almost wanted to jump into the water right then and there. But the heat was mixed with a good atmosphere. Sitting with our feet dipped in the cool water, the surrounding atmosphere and the silence made us feel like we had escaped to another world (seriously, no exaggeration). The only sound was the boats running back and forth to transport guests to their accommodations. However, the boats stop running in the evening to avoid disturbing the guests and to prevent the raft from rocking back and forth at night.

This accommodation offers a full range of amenities, including a TV, air conditioning, a refrigerator, and hot water. This is in contrast to the River Kwai Jungle Rafts, which is a resort in the same network but does not have electricity. However, it is suitable for those who want a truly relaxing getaway. We have stayed there before and loved it.

The rear of the resort surprised us with an abundance of fish swimming around. We couldn't resist taking a closer look. Guests who wish to feed the fish can contact the staff, who sell fish food.

After a short walk and some photos, it was already dusk. The air at night here is quite cool, which is not surprising given its proximity to water and mountains. Those who sleep with the air conditioner on at night might even feel a bit chilly. Haha!

Breakfast is a typical buffet spread. The morning atmosphere is delightful, making for a truly enjoyable dining experience.

Before returning to the capital, let's soak up the atmosphere a little longer. It's a pity that we only have one day to relax. We haven't had enough rest yet. Haha!

In conclusion, if you seek a tranquil escape to recharge for a day or two, this secluded location is ideal. Nestled away from bustling communities and accessible only by boat, it offers a serene atmosphere perfect for rejuvenation. This unique charm is precisely why we frequently choose this haven for our retreats.
