[Ruenthip Residence Pattaya]

by Seally-Go-Round

Most tourists visiting Pattaya tend to look for accommodation near the beaches of North, Central, or South Pattaya, or venture out to Jomtien.

Let's now explore the other side of Pattaya, the side that represents the city's original community. This is the . . .

" Bang Lamung-Na Kluea side "

A Pattaya Rooted in Local Life

This passage describes a different side of Pattaya, one that retains its authentic local roots. Unlike the bustling tourist hub of Pattaya Beach, dominated by foreigners and nightlife, this area offers a glimpse into the lives of true Pattaya residents. The majority of Pattaya's workforce comes from other provinces, including the author, adding to the city's diverse character.

The Bang Lamung and Na Kluea areas, specifically mentioned in the passage, hold a unique charm distinct from the tourist-centric atmosphere of Pattaya Beach. This authenticity stems from the strong presence of local residents who have built their lives and livelihoods in this part of the city.

Today, let's take a break from the beaches and explore the Bang Lamung and Na Kluea area. While there may not be beaches, you can still enjoy stunning sea views all day and night. Plus, the accommodation is affordable, making it a perfect getaway for a short break near Bangkok.

Ruenthip Pattaya Boutique Residence

A newly renovated hotel for only a few hundred baht. I, a former senior leader of the Netnaris, solemnly swear three times that it is... **amazingly good! Amazingly good! Amazingly good!**

Reaching Ruean Thipt is a breeze. If you're coming via the motorway, turn right onto Sukhumvit Pattaya Road at the intersection. Continue straight along Sukhumvit Road, and Ruean Thipt will be on your left, just before Bang Lamung Police Station, at the corner of the entrance to Moob Aroy Restaurant.

The name "Ruean Tippy" suggests a long-standing establishment, and indeed, this hotel has been a fixture in Pattaya since the 1980s and 1990s. It caters to budget-conscious travelers seeking comfortable accommodations at affordable prices. Ruean Tippy consistently ranks among the top choices for budget-friendly rooms with sea views in Pattaya.

In the modern era of 2017, Ruean Thip has undergone a remarkable transformation to cater to the preferences of a new generation of travelers seeking stylish and affordable accommodations in Pattaya.

How cool is it? Let's go in and see... You can park in front.

The lobby, where guests check in, has been transformed into a stylish vintage space, shedding its former image as a typical provincial hotel.

Following my instincts, I grabbed my camera and snapped a few photos. Then, I pulled out my ID card to check in.

The interior features a seating area for relaxation, snacks, and breakfast.

Checked in, got the room key, and then went up to the room.

Today we got a room with a sea view for only 850 baht per night!

While the price is attractive, it's important to manage expectations. Let's wait and see what a room in this price range actually offers.

Upon opening the door, one is greeted by a spacious room with a minimalist, modern design, reminiscent of a show home.

The room is simple but stylish. I wish I had a room like this at home. It's spacious and uncluttered, with a clean and airy feel. However, in reality, my bedroom is a storage room where I can barely squeeze in to sleep. ^^'

Simple bathroom

This room is available in both Sea View (850 Baht) and City View (750 Baht) options. It can accommodate single beds, double beds, or triple beds, perfect for a group of three friends or siblings. No need to book two rooms or add an extra bed!

He walked out onto the balcony. Ah, a sea view.

Panoramic sea view from the balcony, stretching as far as Laem Chabang.

Across the river, the Sanctuary of Truth stands majestically in the distance.

The building of Ruentip is relatively tall, approximately 12 stories high, and there are no surrounding buildings that obstruct the view.

Looking down, I saw a cozy nook perfect for lounging.

Transform the room into a private workspace for a quiet and focused environment conducive to deep thinking.

The room has Wifi internet access.

In the evenings, the beautiful sunset light allows you to lie in bed and enjoy the view.

At twilight, the sky transforms into a breathtaking spectacle, casting a mesmerizing glow upon the surroundings. In this enchanting ambiance, a room priced at 850 baht awaits your arrival.

For larger groups, the venue offers a dedicated seminar room equipped with high-quality audio equipment to accommodate conferences and workshops.

The fitness room is also available for use.

For guests who are not driving, Ruean Thip offers a complimentary shuttle bus service to nearby locations. Please inquire with the front desk staff for more information.

Alternatively, if you are comfortable riding a motorbike, you can rent one for 250 baht per day and explore Pattaya at your own pace. However, if you are unfamiliar with Pattaya's roads or are not a confident rider, it is advisable to stick to the narrow alleys and avoid Sukhumvit Road, which is busy and has fast-moving traffic.

If you're interested in a one-day trip to Koh Larn, you can purchase a tour package here.

Sold as a package for 1,500 baht per person (minimum 2 people).

This package includes:

  • Deluxe Sea View room
  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Transportation to the pier for Koh Larn
  • Ferry to Koh Larn
  • Lunch and beach chairs on Koh Larn

*An additional 200 baht per person will be charged if you wish to go snorkeling at Koh Sak.*

After checking in and settling our belongings, we headed out to explore the area.

Since we have decided to stay at the Ruean Thipt on the Na Kluea side, some people may be too lazy to go to the North, Central, or South Pattaya side. But that's not a problem! Because Na Kluea has more to offer than you think!

Get ready to embark on a scenic tour along the Pattaya-Na Kluea road, guided by your local Pattaya expert, without venturing onto the main highway.

To reach the market, simply drive into the alley next to Reuan Tipthep. Continue driving until you reach the end of the road, then turn right towards Mhoo Aroy restaurant. Turn left and continue straight ahead. You will then come across the old Na Kluea Market and the Lan Pho Market.

Lan Pho Market - Na Kluea

The area retains a sense of its old community, as evidenced by the presence of some traditional two-story wooden houses with balconies, interspersed with modern concrete houses.

A bustling seafood market offering fresh catches, grilling and roasting services, and a vibrant array of street food options.

When shopping at Na Kluea, if I stop by for a meal, I often visit this restaurant. . . Meng Kee Restaurant.

Duck with rice and crispy pork with rice, I've been eating since the old shop, until it moved twice before becoming the current shop, which is much more beautifully decorated than before.

The must-try dishes include roasted duck rice, crispy pork rice, curry rice, and delicious wonton noodles.

There are also two or three fish ball noodle shops next to each other. You can choose whichever shop you like.

For those who crave fresh seafood, head to the market and browse the selection. You can have them pack it in a styrofoam container to take home and cook.

During the late rainy season, when the salt fields are dry, the "Walking and Eating at the Salt Fields" event takes place. Every Saturday and Sunday evening, the road is closed to traffic and lined with food stalls, allowing visitors to stroll and enjoy a variety of culinary delights. During the Vegetarian Festival, the road is also closed for a lively celebration featuring lion dances.

For those who enjoy street art, there are plenty of opportunities to explore and photograph in the alleys and side streets around the market.

Find it yourself in the nooks and crannies. ^^

While enjoying the scenery, be careful not to step on any landmines (dog poop).

Nakelew Fish Market

Drive a little further past the market. If you're not afraid of the sun and want to find a place to take photos without being crowded, try taking a walk on the Na Kluea fishing bridge. Drive into Na Kluea Soi 12, the same soi that leads to the Sanctuary of Truth. There will be a small sign indicating a parking area for fishing boats.

During low tide, villagers collect shellfish.

There are also vintage corners for you to take photos.

Before the shop opened in the morning, I often came here for a walk.

Sanctuary of Truth

If you are planning to bring your mother to Pattaya this Mother's Day, consider taking her to see the Sanctuary of Truth. The entrance fee may be a bit high, but it is worth it to see the beautiful art.

An impressive wood carving that must be seen to be believed.

A little secret: you can visit the Sanctuary of Truth for free.

Only once a year!

Every year on December 9th, the Sanctuary of Truth opens its doors to the public for free. The venue hosts a merit-making ceremony and a multi-faith prayer session throughout the day. Additionally, several renowned Pattaya restaurants participate in the event by offering free food to attendees.

Those who come today can visit the Sanctuary of Truth for free and also gain merit.

Looking for a cozy cafe to relax in? Here are 3 recommendations located in the Na Kluea-Wong Amat area:

b a b a | eating house

The restaurant named "baba" is located on Pattaya-Naklua Road, near Soi Naklua 25.

A cozy, family-run cafe with a Melbourne vibe.

The clientele is steadily increasing, with a significant portion being international.

A group of Japanese housewives gossiped while waiting for their children to return from school.

This establishment offers a diverse menu encompassing Western cuisine, homemade snacks, and coffee. The Western-style dishes reflect the owner's extensive experience living in Australia.

I already had lunch, so I only had a cup of aromatic drip coffee.

I will try the cake and food next time.

The second shop is located just a short distance from BaBa Restaurant. This alley has a fair number of shops, including the SPA Cafe, which I reviewed in my previous post on 10 cafes, 10 styles in Pattaya.

[CR]Review of 10 cafes, 10 styles... Which cafes are worth checking out when visiting 'Pattaya'?

Today, I visited two adjacent shops located in front of the Centara Grand Mirage Hotel. They are easy to find.

Parking is available in front of the restaurant or at the Prima Hotel if there is no space available.

Blue Tang

The first shop, Blue Tang, is a minimalist and stylish cafe.

This cafe has an interesting coffee menu. I was planning to try their signature Nitro Cold Brew, but it was unfortunately sold out today.

Another recommended menu, a beautiful color.

Hot and cold menus are available.

The aesthetically pleasing cafe features Kinfolk magazines as props, perfect for capturing Instagram-worthy photos alongside your coffee.

Next door is another shop, perfect for those who don't like coffee, are caffeine-sensitive, and prefer something sweet and refreshing.

Yellow Submarine

This adorable yellow submarine-themed ice cream shop offers a unique selection of homemade ice cream flavors for you to explore.

Five mini cones, five flavors, 59 baht.

Or try it as a Bubble Waffle

Cheddar cheese ice cream...so fragrant and creamy.

I'm stuffed after eating that huge dish.

Here are 3 cafes for you to enjoy. I will compile a more comprehensive review in the future.

For those who prefer traditional Thai desserts, there are also street food vendors offering a variety of local favorites.

Whenever I crave sweets, I always come to this shop. It's called Pa Maed's Shop, located in front of Rungroj Market, opposite the Pla Thong restaurant.

Auntie sets up her shop around 7pm and closes late, usually around midnight or 1am, depending on how much food is left. However, if you go between 10pm and 11pm, some items may already be sold out.

A wide variety of sweet treats are available, including sticky rice with black beans, mixed fruit, bananas in coconut milk, sticky rice with custard, Chinese almond tea, sticky rice in syrup, and millet in syrup. The price is only 15-20 baht. You can enjoy them in a cup right there.

My personal favorite is sticky rice with longan, but the desserts vary daily.

Satiated by the sweet and savory treats, we shall return to the Celestial Abode for our repose.

In case of late-night hunger pangs, a 7-Eleven convenience store is conveniently located just 50 meters away, open 24 hours a day.

Nighttime atmosphere

Fall asleep to the quiet corners of Pattaya.

Pattaya is not always about nightlife. Good night!

. . . zzzZZZZzzz . . .

Good morning.

The sky is rather cloudy this morning.

We will shower, get dressed, and then go downstairs to have breakfast together.

The starting price for a room at Ruentip is 750 baht. In the morning, the hotel provides a light breakfast of coffee from an automatic coffee machine, toast, and jam.

For a breakfast set, simply add 125 baht per person. Inform the staff during check-in.

The breakfast set includes eggs, orange juice, tea or coffee, and fruit.

A good breakfast starts a beautiful new day.

We will check out and continue working tomorrow morning.

Seeking affordable accommodation? Look no further than Ruentip, where prices start from just 750 baht. This newly renovated haven offers stunning sea views and convenient access to local amenities. Enjoy delicious cuisine and leisurely strolls nearby.
