A suspension bridge stretching into the mangrove forest
A large ship stands as a stylish backdrop,
while you stand awkwardly amidst the mangrove forest.
Walking approximately 300 meters, you will see the mangrove conservation house that the villagers have helped to preserve.
A short walk along the mangrove forest path
We found that the path was not yet completed.
We walked back out and stood to breathe in the cool air.
The wind was enough to cool us down from the heat of the sun.
Strolling through the market, you'll find locals selling freshly caught shellfish.
These local delicacies are available for just 25 baht per kilogram.
Large crabs are priced at 300 baht per kilogram, while refreshing coconut water with its sweet flesh is sold for 15 baht per bag.
Indulge in delicious stir-fried crab with Chanthaburi noodles for 20 baht, along with a variety of local desserts and dishes offered by the friendly villagers.
Support the local community by trying their culinary delights.
Your patronage will encourage them to preserve the beautiful tourist attractions for generations to come.
One important note: parking space is limited to two or three cars.
Next stop, the Wat Ratchabalang Pradittharam Wararam, also known as Wat Talenoy by the locals.
A temple with a long historical record.
The interior evokes a sense of antiquity, tranquility, and serenity.
This temple is said to have been visited by King Taksin the Great's army on their way to conquer Chanthaburi. They stopped to rest at Ban Talenoy. Within the temple, we can find ancient artifacts such as a 300-year-old ordination hall, an ancient principal Buddha statue, a rattan structure covered with gold-leaf plaster, and an ancient stupa built in 1887. There is also a shrine dedicated to King Taksin the Great, with a replica throne.
The next stop is the Hin Krong viewpoint, where the rocks are arranged in such a way that the waves crash against them, creating white foam.
This is another viewpoint that not many people visit.
But we stopped by.
We thought it was nothing.
It would be nothing.
Just standing there watching the water hit the rocks.
To breathe the fresh air by the sea.
To stand cool and take pictures with friends.
That alone would be worth it.
Next, we go to the pink rock field.
Wow! It's really pink!
However, my friends were not excited at all. 555
Featuring a nature trail along the coastline.
The red-pink colored rock field offers a striking contrast to the dark blue seawater.
Moreover, the site features a small camping ground covered with soft green grass.
Entrance fee: 20 THB, vehicle entry fee: 60 THB.
Free entry on the day of visit due to a park announcement.
Parked the car at the lower lot to avoid driving inside.
A short walk of a few hundred meters leads to the site.
We should definitely find an opportunity to come back and spend another night here.
In the evening, we stopped by Yaem Seafood Restaurant, a beachfront restaurant on Chalermprakiet Road.
Then we went to stay at a friend's house with a car full of seafood.
Grilled squid is also available.
A sea of shellfish
Couldn't finish it all, so I had seafood rice porridge again for breakfast.
In the late morning, I took a leisurely stroll through the Unusual Snacks Community Market in Nong Bua Subdistrict.
Enjoy shopping for snacks!
This dessert is unusual.
The line is long and it sells out quickly. I couldn't get any.
Free tasting available.
The locals are incredibly friendly.
Everyone is welcoming and hospitable to tourists.
The snacks are also very affordable.
In the end, the friends decided to stop by the Chanthaburi Riverside Community for a meal before heading back.
Everyone has gone home.
We stopped by
Khao Soi Dao
Planning to spend another night stargazing.
The clouds are thick, making me fear that I won't escape the rain tonight.
I pitched my tent as the rain began to fall.
Before going to sleep,
I couldn't distinguish the sound of the wind blowing through the leaves, the sound of the waterfall, or the sound of the rain.
Early morning stroll before heading back
The lush green grass, a captivating charm of the rainy season.
A walk to the waterfall next to the camping ground.
Dipping my feet in the water for a moment.
The water is too cold to fully immerse myself.
The cool, refreshing air by the waterfall
is perfect for a leisurely stroll through the forest.
As you wander deeper, you'll encounter the majestic statue of Kamaneetwasitthi,
standing tall and proud amidst the lush greenery.
A truly romantic setting.
The novel "Kamanitwasitthi"
This novel, based on the life of Buddha, tells the story of two lovers who are separated and search for each other. They both encounter the Buddha by chance, at different times and places, and listen to his teachings. When they finally reunite, they are faced with death. They recount their lives after their love in the human world, their experiences in searching for each other and finding Buddhism, and their realization of the impermanence of all things, including heaven and the Brahma realm. Only the ultimate bliss of Nirvana offers a way out of this long journey.
The novel deeply and touchingly connects Buddhist principles with the reality of love.
