In Chanthaburi, numerous homestays have recently emerged, each with its own advantages and disadvantages.

Varying from one to another... the main features that each homestay must have are seafood buffets and various activities.

Activities include bamboo rafting, feeding red-headed vultures, swimming, and observing the cultivation of pearl oysters.

With virtually identical offerings across the board, consumers must conduct thorough research before making a lodging selection.

Each location has its own unique charm, catering to different preferences.

Therefore, today we have a great homestay to introduce to our friends.

To provide guidance for decision-making.

This place is "Baan Talay Dao Homestay" in Khlung District.

This location is situated in the Raiplaen Din village, Bang Chan Subdistrict.

Travel

Personal vehicles should depart no later than 9:00 AM and take the expressway towards Rayong.

From the intersection in Khlung District, drive along Sukhumvit Road towards Chanthaburi city center.

Then head towards Trat on Highway 3 to reach Khlung District.

Then, park your car with the motorcycle taxi near the pier. Tell them you are staying at Baan Talay Dao. Parking is available.

A new, spacious, and safe parking lot with a fee of 100 baht per car.

For those staying at a homestay in the Stateless Village, you will need to take a boat to get there. You can board the boat at the Khlong Pier.

The fare is 60 baht per person. The boat departs only once a day, at noon.

If you arrive before the scheduled time, you can charter a small boat for 500 baht per trip (capacity: 4-5 people).

Service is available from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM (The boat is very fast, almost making my head fall off).

The boat journey offers stunning views of the mangrove forests lining both sides of the river, interspersed with glimpses of local fishermen at work.

Fishing, farming ark shells, and finally we arrived at the "Landless Village".

The name "landless village" comes from the fact that the houses are not built on land, but rather on stilts.

In the mangrove forest area, people use boats for transportation and work as fishermen.

The majority of residents in this village are elderly, with a smaller population of young adults and working-age individuals.

I wonder if everyone has gone to school or work on the mainland. This village has both a temple and a shrine.

Upon arrival, our staff will be waiting to greet you and assist with your luggage to your room.

After checking in with the accommodation, it was time for lunch.

Lunch is included in the package for 1500 baht per person.

The package will include:

Accommodation for 2 days and 1 night + 3 meals (including drinks) + activity of rafting to feed the falcons

It's worth it, because dinner includes an all-you-can-eat seafood buffet. 555

The lunch looks like this, giving you the feeling of eating at your mother's house.

After lunch, we took a nap at our accommodation and then went out to observe the way of life of the seafaring people.

The majority of the area is used for laying fishing nets. On the ground, there are shrimp and anchovies being dried to make shrimp paste.

Along the path, villagers set up stalls selling shrimp paste, dried shrimp, and dried fish.

Moms and aunts love to shop!

At around 4 pm, it was time for our scheduled whitewater rafting trip, which is known as "wet rafting" (meaning you get wet on your bottom).

As the raft moves, water will splash in, but the good thing is that they provide a platform for us to sit on.

The raft will be stocked with complimentary drinks and ice throughout the event.

The DJ played upbeat music as the raft floated along, creating a lively atmosphere for dancing.

The boat will take us on a journey of approximately two hours through the mangrove forest. Then, we will see the island in the distance.

They say it's Koh Chang, Trat Province.

Music plays continuously as the raft floats along.

"Red hawks" soaring in the sky

The birds began to fly in groups and swooped more frequently, as if they knew it was time for food.

The officers would continuously toss pork cracklings to lure the macaque into eating them.

So that tourists can take pictures as souvenirs.

It's impressive how she knows when it's feeding time. Does she recognize the song, or can she somehow sense the time?

Like other homestays, when they hear the music, they start to gather around.

Our next destination after feeding the hawks is to marvel at the Talay Waek (Separated Sea).

The chasm is approximately 200 meters long, and the sandy bottom is black. However, when we visited,

Unfortunately, it wouldn't budge. The water was rising. I was sobbing. At that moment, it started to drizzle, but the sky was already dark.

It's time to return to our accommodation, take a shower, and then it's time for the moment everyone has been waiting for.

The dinner buffet at this location starts at 6:00 PM, and each table will have our name on it when we make a reservation.

Please choose a seat according to your name.

Today's highlight is crab roe. If you come during September-October, you will definitely enjoy it. Let's search together.

Unlimited, overflowing, runny eggs. Pry open the shell, scrape with a spoon, and scoop up the whole egg and crab fat.

To be enjoyed with hot steamed rice and a drizzle of "prik klua" (a spicy dipping sauce known as "seafood sauce" in Chanthaburi).

The sour, salty, and spicy flavors contrast beautifully with the sweet taste of the eggs and crab fat. This dish is so delicious that nothing could tempt me to give it up.

This place offers an abundance of fresh seafood, including shrimp, shellfish, crabs, and fish, all available for unlimited consumption.

We almost rolled with the room.

The crabs here are all big and meaty. Some of them are even bigger than your face! 555

Look at the crab claws, they look so delicious and huge! I can't wait to dig in (I'm drooling as I type this, oh my, I'm hungry).

The appearance of other foods will also have

Boiled fresh shrimp (This page does not use tiger prawns, so it is not available).

Followed by deep-fried fish cakes, with a firm and chewy texture.

Deep-fried sea bass with fish sauce, the size of a forearm, deliciously crispy.

The sentence is already in English. Is there anything else I can help you with?

Continue with fresh clams from a nearby farm.

The seafood salad was followed by a tom yum soup with sea bass, which I unfortunately forgot to photograph.

We enjoyed the food, which was available to order until 9:00 PM.

During this time, staff members will walk around and ask if you would like to add anything to your order.

Orders are promptly and enthusiastically fulfilled without hesitation.

This place has karaoke, but you can only use it until 11 pm.

Those who want to showcase their vocal cords and powerful voices, go for it!

After eating, my stomach is full and my eyelids are getting heavy. If anyone wants to stay and chat, feel free to do so.

I'm feeling sleepy, so I'm going to go to bed now.

For those who wake up early, there is an opportunity to make merit by offering food to monks. However, we did not wake up early.

Breakfast here starts around 7:00 AM. The food is delicious seafood porridge. As for tea and coffee,

Feel free to make yourself a cup of tea.

Checked out and waited for the boat to depart at 9:00 AM. On the way back, the owner's brother sent me to the boat. I bowed in gratitude.

And tell me if you have the opportunity to come again, which if we have the opportunity, we will definitely go again.

The overall accommodation atmosphere gives a sense of a simple but clean and convenient renovation.

Remember, when you choose a homestay, you are essentially becoming a guest in someone's home, sharing their meals and living space.

This cannot be compared to the service and comfort of a hotel.

Do not expect it to be perfect in every way, as it was created by ordinary people.

It is a family business that distributes income to the community.

The journey continues with breathtaking views from the Nang Phaya Viewpoint, located along the Chalermprakiet Borommaratchachonnani Road.

In addition, if you visit the viewpoint, don't forget to try the sun-dried squid from the food cart parked by the roadside before the ascent. It's fresh, delicious, and comes with a spicy dipping sauce.
