Amphawa

Solo Trip: Explore, Eat, and Enjoy!

The city of oysters, the peak of lychee, with the Rama II Park, the Maeklong River flowing through, and the worship of Luang Pho Ban Laem.

The motto of Samut Songkhram Province.

#Amphawa is located in Samut Songkhram province. It is a charming tourist destination and is considered the Venice of Thailand. It is not far from Bangkok, only a 1-hour drive away. You can visit for a day trip or stay overnight. However, if you stay alone, you might feel lonely (let's talk about something else).

Amphawa is a popular weekend destination, known for its bustling floating market. Visitors can also enjoy boat trips to temples and firefly watching. Boat tours typically cost around 60 baht per person, or 600-800 baht for a private boat, depending on negotiation.

Early mornings, around 6-7 am, are a time of tranquility at the floating market. The crowds haven't yet arrived, offering a serene atmosphere for those who rise early. As someone who often wakes up before dawn, I seize this opportunity to arrive at the market as soon as possible to participate in the alms-giving ceremony.

In the morning, there aren't many people yet. You have to hurry to take photos at the popular bridge corner. #Liap Namti Bridge, read as #Liap Namti

However, if it is too late, it will be like this...

A lot.

In the morning, it is recommended to relax and have a coffee at Pae Kiw, a coffee shop owned by the kind-hearted Pae, who has been in business for a long time and is known worldwide. Tourists enjoy taking photos with Pae, who is a very friendly person.

Relaxing and waiting for the monks to row the boat.

The abundance of delicious food is a must-try! Be prepared for a full stomach, as the variety is truly overwhelming. From the canal-side stalls to the hidden alleys, the options are endless. Seafood, traditional Thai desserts, and fresh fruits are just a few examples of the culinary delights that await.

Here are the limes I brought for you. They cost 50 baht in total.

The young dragons can be found everywhere.
