Hello!

This trip took place in December of last year, but I'm just now getting around to writing a review. Hopefully, it can serve as a guide for those planning a trip this year. The itinerary was as follows: 1 night at Phu Langka, 1 night at Pha Tang, and 1 night at Phu Chi Fa.

Our journey began in Bangkok, where we embarked on a long drive to Phu Langka Resort. We followed the Asian Highway until we reached Nakhon Sawan, where we turned towards Phitsanulok, Uttaradit, Phrae, and Phayao. Continuing on, we arrived at Phu Langka Resort in A. district.

Many of you may have seen the view of this place before. It is said that the accommodation here is worth a hundred dollars, but the view is worth a million. In the morning, we were lucky enough to see a sea of fog, so we really got to see the million-dollar view. The view is like this.

From this corner, walk out of the resort and turn left to find the viewpoint.

Accommodation prices range from 700 to 1,000 baht, including breakfast. For tents, the price is 300-450 baht, including breakfast. If you bring your own tent, the price is 150 baht per person, including breakfast. This price is very reasonable for this view.

One more photo before we continue our journey.

After enjoying the view and breakfast, we continued our journey. Our next destination was Pha Tang in Chiang Rai. We stopped to refuel before continuing to Wiang Kaen District from Chiang Rai.

Enjoy the scenic views on the way to Pha Tang.

Accommodation at Pha Tang: We pitched our tents again tonight, this time in the parking lot provided by the local administrative organization. The parking lot has restrooms available, and it's just a short walk to the viewpoint. There are also restaurants in the area.

The lights you see on the hillside are where the tents are set up. The shelters on the right-hand side are the starting point for the climb up the mountain, which is easily accessible on foot.

However, if you do not want to camp around the cliff, there are plenty of accommodations to choose from.

Let's go watch the sunset now that we've finished setting up the tent.

This is Hill 102, waiting for the sunset.

The sun has set. Who is standing there? The angle is perfect.

Breathtaking Views and Camping Adventures at Doi Pha Tang

Doi Pha Tang boasts numerous stunning viewpoints, including the dramatic Pha Khad chasm, and the scenic peaks of Noen 102 and Noen 103. These viewpoints offer breathtaking panoramas, perfect for witnessing both sunrise and sunset. After soaking in the mesmerizing sunset, it's time to set up camp and enjoy the cool evening air. The crisp mountain air and the crackling campfire create an idyllic atmosphere for a night under the stars. The warmth of the sleeping bag provides a cozy haven, making it tempting to stay snuggled inside. However, the allure of the sunrise compels you to rise and face the pre-dawn chill. With determination, you embark on a hike through the darkness and cold, eager to witness the spectacle of the sun rising over the horizon.

I've been waiting since it was still dark until dawn. The sun is about to rise.

The morning view of the sea of mist is thick and soft around this area. This is Hill 103. Since Hill 102 was crowded, we decided to walk further to avoid the crowds and enjoy the view without having to compete for photo opportunities.

Beneath the sea of fog lies the Mekong River.

Doi Pha Tang stands at an elevation of 1635 meters above sea level.

Please collect the sign.

After capturing stunning photos at Hill 103, we retraced our steps to Hill 102 and the Khao Khad Gap. This area was quite crowded, so if you prefer a less crowded experience, we recommend Hill 103.

After enjoying the scenery until late morning, we packed up our tent and stopped for a bite to eat before continuing on to the Ngao-Ngao Headwaters Management Unit. We found this to be an excellent camping spot with relatively few people. From here, you can easily hike up to Phu Chi Fa or visit other nearby attractions such as Phu Chi Fa and Chi Dao. Additionally, this location boasts blooming Wild Himalayan Cherry trees during January.

The entrance to the unit is located near Baan Rom Fah Thong. There are several resorts at the entrance.

We have arrived.

The atmosphere is great. In fact, from here you can also walk to the top of Phu Chi Fa.

Accessing Phu Chi Fa requires a vehicle, but private cars are prohibited during the morning due to the narrow road and potential hazards when encountering oncoming traffic. Visitors must utilize public transportation to limit the number of vehicles on the road.

The plan for this evening is to relax. The next plan is to climb Phu Chi Dao tomorrow morning and then Phu Chi Fa in the late morning. To climb Phu Chi Dao, you need to contact a local villager's car to take you to the starting point. You can contact them at the entrance or ask your resort to contact them for you. Contact information: Por Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Tel. 053 602 742, 053 602 743.

The next morning, we waited for a local pickup truck to take us to the trailhead. It was freezing cold! After a short ride, we had to hike for another 500 meters. The trail was a bit slippery, but it was an easy walk. The cool air and the early hour made me miss the warmth of my sleeping bag in the tent. But when we finally reached the top, the fatigue vanished instantly. The view was breathtaking!

The thick fog is amazing! It's not just down below, sometimes the strong wind blows the fog up and makes the camera wet.

Below, as always, is the Mekong River. During certain periods, strong winds and frequent fog create a different kind of beauty. Let's take a look at the pictures.

The view is beautiful.

360-degree fog

Dense fog

The natural scenery is breathtaking. We woke up early and witnessed the stunning views from Phu Chi Dao. After packing up our tent at the Hongaw-Ngow Headwaters Management Unit, we headed to Phu Chi Fa for more panoramic vistas. The proximity of various viewpoints in this area allows for efficient sightseeing. We'll save Phu Chi Duen for another visit. For now, let's enjoy the magnificent views of Phu Chi Fa before concluding our journey. Don't get tired of the sea of mist just yet!

Phu Chi Fa, here we come!

It's past 10 am and the fog still hasn't cleared.

It's getting late, time to go home. Let's go!

After descending from Phu Chi Fa, we originally planned to head straight to Bangkok. However, by the time we arrived in Phrae and finished our meal, it was already very late. We decided to spend another night in Nan to rest before continuing our journey. This extended our trip by an additional night before finally reaching Bangkok.

There is another road trip from Nan to Phayao that I will review next time. For now, I have to go.
