Amphawa Floating Market: A Unique Evening Experience

Amphawa, unlike other floating markets that close in the late morning, remains vibrant until dusk. This unique characteristic sets it apart, offering a captivating experience for visitors.

Amphawa Chaipattana Foundation Project:

This project, initiated by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, aims to preserve the traditional wisdom and way of life of the Amphawa community.

The replica of the Chaipattana water turbine is located in the Chaipattana Amphawa Conservation Project.

Within the Amphawa Chaipattana Nurak Project, there are many spots and angles for taking photos. This boat is also a place to sit and take photos on the boat.


The "Haunted Ship" is not actually haunted. Its name comes from the "Haunted Canal," a tributary of the Amphawa Canal.

A museum showcasing various types of historical boats used in the past, located within the Amphawa Chaipattana Conservation Project.



A model simulating the lifestyle of Amphawa residents in the past, when water transportation was the main mode of travel.


There is a spot for children to participate in a boat coloring activity.


The Chan Chala shop is part of the Amphawa Chaipattana Conservation Project. Customers are welcome to bring food from outside to eat in the shop, but are kindly requested to dispose of their waste responsibly after finishing their meal.


Baan Suan Samran Amphawa showcases traditional tools and utensils, preserving them for future generations to appreciate.




The Coconut Shell Noodle Shop is an affordable boat noodle restaurant where dishes start at just 20 baht. The unique feature of this restaurant is that all of its utensils are made from coconut shells.



The atmosphere along the Amphawa Canal is very lively during the holidays.


The riverside market offers a wide variety of souvenirs for purchase.


This iconic bridge over the canal is a defining feature of Amphawa.

Once you have chosen your food, you can sit and eat by the canal. There are tables set up for you to enjoy your meal comfortably.


As dusk approached, it was time to embark on a boat ride to witness the fireflies. The boat ride cost 60 baht per person and lasted approximately 40-45 minutes per round.

Heavy rain had fallen before the admin's visit, resulting in an abundance of fireflies. Regrettably, capturing their beauty in photographs proved impossible.

The fireflies clung to the Lamphu trees, their twinkling lights illuminating the entire tree. The spectacle resembled Christmas tree lights, creating a mesmerizing display.


There is no set schedule for the firefly boat tour. It departs as soon as it is full. Private charters are available for 600 baht per round.
