Hello and welcome to "Let's Go Together"!

This time, we're escaping the hustle and bustle of the city to experience the charming town of Lopburi. With a budget of just 200 baht, you can have a wonderful day trip. Since we only had one day off, we looked for a place near Bangkok and stumbled upon Lopburi, a quiet little town that doesn't get much attention. Follow us as we explore "Lopburi"!

The starting point of our journey was Hua Lamphong, a bustling railway station in Bangkok. We planned to catch the 7:00 AM express train to Den Chai. As it was an express train, we couldn't use our free train pass. We needed to have our ID card and 40 baht ready for the ticket from Bangkok to Lopburi.

While waiting for the train, I took some photos of the author to pass the time.

The outdated perception of Thai trains being solely old and outdated is inaccurate. In fact, luxurious trains exist in Thailand, as exemplified by the international tourist train service operating between Bangkok and Singapore.

The train arrives at the platform at 6:40 AM. You can board the train and sit in the seat number indicated on your ticket.

For a comfortable ride, it is recommended to sit on the left side of the car facing north when purchasing tickets to avoid direct sunlight.

The train has departed from Hua Lamphong. Whether it arrives or not, it doesn't matter... No, it must arrive! ^^

After a while, the travelers began to fill the seats. ^^

In such an atmosphere, sometimes traveling by car or plane cannot provide the same view as a train.

The scenery along the way was so captivating that it made one lose track of time.

How far is it?

After a while, we arrived at Bang Phra In Station.

A must-try local delicacy at Ban Pachi Junction Station is the fresh coconut ice cream, available for only 5 baht per cup. This unique treat is a hallmark of the station. 😲😲

The train arrived at Lopburi Railway Station at 9:50 AM, offering a scenic view to enjoy during the journey.

I thought it would be hot, but I didn't think it would be this hot. 😂😂

It is customary to walk to the station's tradition sign to know that you have arrived.

From the train station, you can see ancient sites in any direction, all within close proximity.

Upon exiting the train station, I was approached by a tricycle driver offering his services. The fare was reasonable, but I declined as I wanted to walk and observe the monkeys. However, I must admit that I was a bit apprehensive about encountering the monkeys. 55 So, I decided to walk instead.

The atmosphere in front of Lopburi Railway Station.

Across from the train station is Wat Phra Si Mahathat. According to our plan, we will capture this temple as the last location before returning.

Walking straight ahead, our destination is the Phra Prang Sam Yot. It's a short walk, about 500 meters from the train station.

The traditional way of life of people using three-wheeled bicycles can still be seen in the provinces.

Encountered a local resident. It looked quite adorable, but I was afraid of being bitten, so I could only take this picture. 55

This indicates that the location is definitely Lopburi.

I'm strolling along and I can already see the three-spired prang, it's just a short distance away.

We have arrived at the Phra Prang Sam Yot, a significant historical and archaeological site in Lopburi Province. This Khmer castle, built in the Bayon style (1177-1230 AD), features sandstone construction with stucco decorations. It was constructed during the reign of King Jayavarman VII. Let's explore the interior.

Admission fee is 10 Baht per person.

Before I even entered, I was greeted by the locals.

An ancient site that has retained its unique character remarkably well. ^^

Inside the three-peaked prang, officials try to keep monkeys out. It's very hot outside, but once you step inside, it's cool and comfortable. Looking up, you'll see bats everywhere.

A cute angle with the little one peeking with curiosity. 😂 😂

The monkeys at the Phra Prang Sam Yot temple are not very aggressive, and some are even quite tame. After walking for a while, we tried our best to take pictures of the monkeys, but we were still a little scared and tense. "You never know what a monkey will do," we thought.

This one seems to be indie. It's his way, we wouldn't understand him, trust me!! 😉😉

Fear of the camera? Fear of people? Where? They're sleeping soundly for the photo shoot.

They must be from the same family.

This must be a couple, so sweet.

A mother's embrace, always a source of warmth and comfort.

The monkeys are probably having fun jumping in the cool pond.🤗

Concluding the Three-Spire Prang with this adorable image.

We spent time in the prang until half past noon and felt hungry, so we walked to find a restaurant to eat. While walking to find a restaurant, we met many locals.

Looking back while walking with food is not recommended. Monkeys outside the temple can be aggressive and may try to snatch food or belongings from visitors.

Some are scary... some are cute 😉😉

Lunch was 60 baht for rice with pork leg and water. The taste was okay. The shop is located opposite the three-spired pagoda.

After finishing my meal, I walked back to the train station to visit the Maha That Temple.

Found a cute sign along the way

Once again, we pass by the three-peaked prang.

In front of the Phra Kan Shrine.

After walking for about 10 minutes, I arrived at the entrance of Wat Mahathat. Admission is free here. Since it was a weekday, I was the only tourist there. The only one, really! ^^

The Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat is a Buddhist temple located in Tha Hin Subdistrict, Mueang Lopburi District, Lopburi Province, Thailand. It is situated opposite the Lopburi Railway Station. The exact date of its construction is unknown, but it has undergone several renovations throughout history, including during the reigns of King Narai the Great, King Ramathibodi II, and King Maha Chakkraphat.

The mere sight of it is eerie, but the atmosphere is truly beautiful. It's hot outside, but strangely, once you enter, a cool breeze blows comfortably.

After exploring the interior, let's now explore the exterior.

It's incredibly hot, but I'm enjoying the surrounding atmosphere more.

This is a very large temple. It must have been very prosperous in the past. It is now 4:30 p.m., so we have to prepare to return to Bangkok by the 5:20 p.m. free train.

A steam locomotive is on display in front of the train station.

The iconic symbol of Lopburi Railway Station

While waiting for the train back to Bangkok, I took some photos. Around 5:20 PM, we used our ID cards to pick up the free train tickets. At 5:30 PM, the free train from Ban Takhli to Bangkok arrived.

The atmosphere on the return train was pleasant. We slept all the way back. The Thai train arrived at its final destination, Bangkok, on time at 8:30 p.m.

Summary of expenses

Train fare to Lopburi = 40 baht

Lunch = 60 Baht

Seven coffee = 25 baht

The cost of the train back to Bangkok is 0 baht.

Total = 135 baht only.

Embarking on a solo adventure may seem daunting, but with a little courage, it can be an enriching experience.

The world will change according to our perspective. Thank you for reading until the end. 🤗🤗
