A backpack, a camera, and three friends set off for Khao Lom Muak in Prachuap Khiri Khan. If you want a relaxing journey, take the train like us. The State Railway of Thailand is never late, haha!

Travel: Outbound: As it was a long holiday coinciding with Makha Bucha Day, we traveled by express train.

Boarding at Bangkok Railway Station (Hua Lamphong), train ticket price 455 baht.

By booking tickets online via the internet, you can book and then bring your ID card to receive it at the station.

Departing at 22.55 hrs.

Arriving at Prachuap Khiri Khan Station at 03.10 hrs.

We waited at Prachuap Railway Station until 06.00 hrs. Sitting and talking for a while, and it was morning.

If you don't take a picture with the sign, hey!! You'll think we didn't come to Prachuap Khiri Khan city!

At the train station, there will be motorcycle sidecars for hire to take you to the 5th Air Wing in Ao Manao.

This is where Khao Lom Muak is located.

The fare is 50 baht per person. You can call the driver directly, and they will pick you up immediately. It's convenient, fast, and efficient.

The initial section is a series of stairs, which can be quite challenging.

They said it was an easy climb, but for us, it wasn't as simple as they made it out to be! And it's definitely not a piece of cake like everyone said.

We're halfway to the viewpoint!

The climb is steep and narrow, with many people. You have to wait if someone is coming down, and vice versa.

There is only one way up and down, and it is quite steep. You have to take turns pulling the rope.

Our fellow travelers, after a sleepless night on a train with air conditioning as cold as the North Pole, and a morning spent sitting outside being bitten by mosquitoes.

Unbelievable, I climbed up and had to shout, "Wow! It's so beautiful!"

Popular viewpoint, once we were the conquerors of Lom Muak Mountain.

It takes about two hours, depending on the physical condition of each person.

Things to bring with you are drinking water, to sip along the way.

If you come to Khao Lom, you must try this.

After descending from Khao Lom Muak, we called Uncle Chai to pick us up. He arrived promptly at our accommodation.

We stayed at Thur Hostel, a trendy and relaxed place with a friendly owner. The accommodation cost 300 baht per person, and it was clean with shared bathrooms, Wi-Fi, hot water, and free coffee and Ovaltine.

The hostel is located right on the beach in Prachuap Khiri Khan, making it easy to take a stroll and enjoy the sea breeze.

Accommodates 4 people in bunk beds with bedside power outlets.

Visiting the sea without taking pictures of the seascape is not right. Prachuap Khiri Khan, the city of three bays, is the longest and narrowest in Thailand.

An Evening Stroll and Local Delights

In the evening, take a leisurely stroll along the Saranwithi Bridge. For those seeking breathtaking views, a climb to Khao Chong Krachok is highly recommended.

Note: I did not ascend due to tired legs.

Along the beachfront, a vibrant night market unfolds, offering a diverse array of goods and showcasing the warm hospitality of the Prachuap Khiri Khan locals.

For those seeking a lively nightlife scene with pubs and bars, be advised that this tranquil haven offers a serene and peaceful atmosphere.

Before leaving, don't forget to wave goodbye to Prachuap Khiri Khan and shout out loud, "I'm leaving now!"

On the way back, we also took a free train back. It is recommended to call the State Railway of Thailand for the train schedule in advance. The phone number is 1690.

To get the exact time and avoid missing the train, get off at Thon Buri Station. Taking the Thai train must be late.

The highlight of taking the train is

Tadaaaaaaaaaa

Curry rice in a banana leaf cup, 10 baht per pack, very delicious

There are plenty of things to sell on the train. Those who take the free train must have to spend a lot on food on the train, just like us.

P.S. Now we don't know if the free train is still available. I heard that it is no longer available. You should call to inquire first.

Travel Expenses

Express train (one way) 455 Baht
