"Little Kale" Helloooo ^O^
Wow, it's already the twelfth block? I'm so happy 55555 I feel like I've been traveling a lot.
Alright! This trip is just like the title says, a short trip to shake things up. This time, we're going for a walk on a weekend in southern Vietnam.
On this trip, "Chai Am" leads three beautiful women on an adventure in a foreign land.
Followed by "Kale" itself. If it doesn't come with it, how can I write a review? 5555
And let's give a warm welcome to our two new members at Baan Kan Na!
"Nong Sing," the beautiful girl with a dead-end alley face... literally!
And Nong Aen Aen Ant (sometimes she just wants to be called Ant)
The big-eyed girl who smiles every time she walks through the hydrangea bushes.
This trip, she achieved her ultimate dream: having a picture with hydrangeas. 55555
We departed from our beloved Thailand at approximately 13:50 hrs.
And arrived as Thai foreigners in the land of Ho Chi Minh City at precisely 15:20 hrs.
As soon as we landed, we became aliens!
Unable to contact anyone, the world went dark for a brief moment. 55555
We were forced to pay $10 each for a SIM card to use WiFi throughout the trip.
However, Kanom did not buy one and relied on Sing to share her hotspot throughout the trip.
I would like to express my gratitude to Sing for her kindness. The reason is that Kanom bought roaming and it ran out
within the first 30 minutes of setting foot in Ho Chi Minh City. It was more expensive than a SIM card. Why would I buy it?
The second reason is that... when I travel, I only use my phone to answer work occasionally. It's not really necessary.
With a new SIM card in hand, we were once again connected to the world.
We realized that while we could now contact anyone, we couldn't stay where we were.
We needed to book a car to take us into the city. Fortunately, the mobile phone shop offered a car booking service. Perfect!
The adventure begins, right from this car, my lady.
While riding in the car, Kale looked out at the city the whole way and felt like every car
was about to crash into our car all the time!!
I remembered, oh... the roads in this country drive on the opposite side of the road from Thailand.
The vision on the road that we are familiar with has changed, it looks like the cars are going to crash all the time 5555
From the airport, we entered the city. The city... well... it's a real city.
And here are the Vietnamese people in Ho Chi Minh City with the legendary swarm of motorbikes.
I saw it with my own eyes today. Wow! It's really as impressive as the rumors say. At this point,
After battling through traffic for about forty minutes (or maybe more, I can't remember!),
the taxi dropped me off at my destination, as requested: The Sihn Tourist.
I was there to book a sleeper bus ticket for my trip to Dalat that evening.
The bus was scheduled to depart at 10 pm, and I needed to check in at the office by 9:30 pm.
That gave me about two hours to kill, so I decided to grab some food. Let's go!
The provided text appears to be in Thai. Here's the translation:
Speedy like a warp! Of course, this shop is right across from the bus station, only 2 minutes away!
The advantages are... the food menu looks delicious and it is a recommended restaurant on TripAdvisor.
However, the downside is that everything I ordered was sold out. 55555 So I asked the staff, "What's left to eat, sir?"
And here is the signature dish that we ordered to try. The kale fried rice has a generally minimal taste.
I didn't try the noodles, but everyone else finished theirs, so they must have been good.
Please translate the following sentence:
And when it comes to the mixed platter, the nem nuong is a must-try. 5555
You have to try it! One bite of the kale and you'll want to tell everyone to try it too.
Don't be shy, have a bite! You'll all be friends with the same great taste. Hahahaha!
Full stomach, full of energy to continue...walk to the next shop, not going far, haha.
Starbucks, the world-renowned coffeehouse, has captivated coffee lovers globally.
We sat down to have a drink and chat, considering it a break to rest our bodies.
We waited until it was time to check in for the bus.
As the check-in time approaches, we find ourselves still lingering in this type of place. 55555
And then it was time to get on the bus to go to "Dalat", right?
But… um, this is… a sleeper bus? It really sleeps, haha!
I have to say that…
Kanna always goes on trips because her friends invite her. She's never the one leading the group.
When her friends invite her and she's free, she goes and always says, "Take me with you wherever you go."
Kanna doesn't care about which country, city, or even province in Thailand she's going to.
She never opens Google and never wants to know what she's going to encounter.
She always follows her friends, so much so that when she talked to her friends about wanting to start her own page,
She named it "Follow Us" because she's the real follower, haha!
This sleeper bus is the same. She didn't know it would be this kind of sleeper seat, haha!
She was a little surprised.
In Dalat
At four in the morning, near dawn on Saturday,
the thick fog was as dense as a cloud, clearly visible even though the sky was still pitch black.
We disembarked from the bus in a state of drowsiness (having been in a state of half-sleep throughout the journey).
Dragging our luggage, we followed Google Maps to the hotel that Am had booked for us while we were still in Thailand.
We walked and talked, our drowsiness fading as the cool morning air invigorated us.
The chill did stiffen our legs a bit, but it was a welcome change from the heat.
Upon arriving at the hotel, we were perplexed to find the lobby shrouded in darkness. Despite the time being close to 6:00 AM, the lights remained switched off. (The photo depicts the scene around 5:00 AM, as we were too bewildered to capture the initial darkness.)
Standing amidst the mist, we were soon approached by an elderly woman who beckoned us inside.
The lobby is currently unstaffed, indicating that it is not yet open for business.
As a result, tourists who arrive before business hours, like ourselves, are forced to wait here.
It's not just our group; the sofas have all been claimed as beds.
Until six o'clock in the morning, the beautiful female employee came to work with a bright face.
We also waited in line to check in and went up to the room to take a shower and get dressed to go out today!
This is the view of our bedroom. It's huge! At first, we only saw the exterior,
and while waiting in the lobby, we thought the bedroom must be small. But it turned out to be incredibly spacious!
The bathroom is spacious, and the bed is large, allowing for comfortable sleep. (Entrance) 55555
The four of us agreed to meet in the lobby at 8:00 AM.
Kanna informed the lobby that we would like to rent two motorbikes for our day trip.
While waiting for the hotel to arrange a car for us, we decided to have breakfast first.
We chose a restaurant opposite the hotel, the large red building (this photo was taken from our bedroom).
The restaurant offers a wide variety of food, from rice and noodles to burgers and drinks, ensuring a satisfying and complete meal in one place.
This is the lemon tea that Aam and Kanna ordered, one glass each, before turning to look at each other.
After swallowing the first sip, they ended up with plain water. 55555 Oh, my god.
The drinks were not to my taste, but the food was absolutely delicious.
The taste is exquisite, making it a truly delightful meal for our palates. Hooray!
Hey, what are you doing here?
There you go! The result of picking, lifting, and placing in just a blink... the little one said, "Go, auntie! Charge me!"
This is the atmosphere on the road around nine o'clock in the morning.
The building behind is the hotel where we are going to cross the street to pick up the motorcycle we rented.
The "Con Ga Church," also known as the "Chicken Church," is a Roman-style church built in 1931.
The church grounds are spacious, and it was not crowded when I visited, making it easy to take photos.
The church's construction took 11 years, resulting in a beautiful, durable, and peaceful structure.
Walking around, you will reach the back of the church. Here, you will be greeted by a breathtaking view of downtown Dalat.
The real view is amazing! Pastel colors, very artistic. I stood here for a long time, just turning my camera around.
We continue walking and come across a building like this. It's quiet and the air is fresh.
If you're a local, you can come here to relax and read a good book.
Translated.
Alright! After taking in the sights and sounds, let's move on to our next destination.
Following Google Maps, we drove up the mountain towards our destination, "Wat Tak Kham".
We weren't sure which way to go, so we just kept driving up the mountain. We came across a coffee shop and decided to stop for a break. It was so relaxing!
This cup is hot cocoa. Auntie doesn't really want to drink coffee.
However!! First sip, oh my god!! The bottom of the cup is rum!! The alcohol is so strong!!
I don't want to drink caffeine, but I don't want to switch to alcohol at the beginning of the day either. 5555
She didn't ask about my health at all. T^T Another cup that I didn't finish… again.
We have arrived at the Cable Car at Truc Lam Pagoda!
The price is according to the ticket. Here, we will sit and enjoy the 4-dimensional view of Da Lat city. (I just made that up) 5555
The journey has begun! Although the distance may not seem long, it is actually quite extensive. Oh my!
For those who enjoy hiking and the color green, like Aom and Kanom, this is a truly exhilarating experience, even if the sun is scorching.
We couldn't stop taking pictures because the views from the cable car were breathtaking throughout the entire journey.
This is a simple and short sentence.
From the cable car, when we turn to the right, we are refreshed by the panoramic view of the lush greenery.
And when you turn your neck slightly, be careful not to sprain it, to the left.
We will see the city of Dalat in a vast and distant version.
See, I told you, forest, mountains, water, city, 4 dimensions, right? 5555
The text provided is a series of short sentences and phrases in Thai. Here is the translation in English:
- This is a magnificent pine forest.
- Kan is very impressed with the view from the Cable Car here. It's so green and refreshing!
-
*
Exiting the cable car, we were greeted by vendors selling meatballs, dried goods, and drinks (just like at temples back home).
Unable to resist, I decided to try something unique. I spotted a treat that looked delicious, which I dubbed "crispy pancake."
This doesn't look good. The dough is hard. 55555555555
I don't know what kind of pastry this is, but it smells strongly of dried shrimp and is only slightly sweet. The dough is so overcooked that it's hard.
After exiting the Cable Car, we paid our respects at Truc Lam Pagoda.
Photography is prohibited inside the temple, but the surrounding atmosphere is excellent. The tropical garden is well-maintained, striking a balance between lush greenery and open space. There are plenty of places to relax, and the crowds are minimal.
Unknown flower, captured by Aam. It's beautiful!
After driving for a while from the temple, my aunt took me to this place. It looked like a dam or a reservoir of some sort.
It was very windy and there were quite a few people taking pictures. I stood there for a while taking some profile pictures myself.
Alright, let's continue our journey!
After driving for about fifteen minutes (excluding getting lost 55555), we arrived here.
Datanla Waterfalls and there is also a Roller Coaster to play with >O<
Admission tickets are required. Prices are listed on the ticket face.
While others stroll through lavender fields, Kale prefers to stand out in a field of hydrangeas. In Dalat, hydrangeas bloom throughout the city, creating a stunning spectacle. This is the first time I've seen them up close, and I adore them.
We are currently waiting in line to ride the Roller Coaster.
As you can see, there is a waterfall in the distance. We will be taking the Roller Coaster to the waterfall later.
We will then return on the Roller Coaster, or you can walk back if you prefer.
"Dalat Flower Gardens"
We did not visit the Dalat Flower Gardens. We originally planned to, but upon reaching the entrance, we decided to continue on our journey. The weather was becoming overcast, and we were concerned about the possibility of rain.
We found ourselves at a barbecue restaurant out of the blue. 555555
This restaurant happened to be close to our hotel, so we chose it for that simple reason.
And this is the result of our hard work all day long.
We ordered a lot and ate everything. This restaurant is very delicious, the rice is soft and the dipping sauce is very good.
Each set we ordered was also very generous. It was another great meal for our stomachs. We are so happy!
Everyone must be thinking that Kale must be full and sleepy now, right? 555555
No wayyy!! Kale is sickkk and I didn't bring any medicine with me T^T
So Kale had to drink warm water to soothe her sore throat and go to sleep.
(Normally when I travel abroad, I always get travel insurance and bring common medicine, but this trip I really forgot)
So Aom had to be the caretaker alone, taking her two younger sisters for a walk at the night market.
(If Kale had gone with them, there was a chance that the body would have collapsed. When we travel, we shouldn't push ourselves.
When it's time to rest, we must rest. Otherwise, if the symptoms get worse, it will be a burden to our fellow travelers.)
And here is the atmosphere that Am and the lovely children captured for us.
Sometimes they might be taking pictures to tease us, but we'll try to stay positive and pretend we don't notice. 😜
Good morning Sunday... Today's agenda is to take a bus to...
"Mui Ne"!!
We contacted the hotel to buy bus tickets (regular bus) from Dalat to Mui Ne.
The van is scheduled to pick us up in front of the hotel at 7 am, but because Kan Na is really starting to feel unwell,
Kan Na went to ask for medicine at the Lobby, thinking that even one paracetamol would be good, so that it could help relieve the fever.
And this is what happened after taking the medicine from Front for only 15 minutes.
The doctor fainted. 5555 Sing and Ant helped lift her wings into the van from the front of the hotel.
Then we took another bus from the bus station. During the trip from Dalat to Mui Ne, Kanha slept soundly.
The original text is empty. There is nothing to translate.
The following is a translation of the provided text from Thai to English:
And here are the pictures that my younger siblings and I took along the way. The funny thing is that…
The roads were rough, with potholes, sharp turns, and steep downhill slopes. We overtook other vehicles all the way, even when braking hard.
Khana slept soundly for four hours. I guess it's a good thing that happened while we were sick. Haha.
We have arrived at our hotel in Mui Ne. The bus dropped us off at the bus station, which is about 5 minutes away from our hotel. We got off the bus and rented a motorbike from there. We then drove back to the hotel to drop off our luggage and get ready to explore. (Kanna is awake now, a little groggy from the medicine, but she's doing okay.)
Riding a motorbike in Mui Ne: A cautionary tale
Riding a motorbike in Mui Ne can be a thrilling experience, but it's important to be aware of the local traffic laws and regulations. The speed limit is 40 km/h throughout Vietnam, and exceeding this limit can result in hefty fines.
During our trip, we were warned by the staff at the gas station not to speed, as the police are known to enforce the speed limit strictly. Despite this warning, we couldn't resist the temptation to ride a bit faster.
Unfortunately, our recklessness caught the attention of the traffic police, who pulled us over. The officer initially wanted to fine us $150, but after some negotiation, we managed to convince him to accept $50 instead.
This experience taught us a valuable lesson about the importance of respecting local laws and regulations. We also realized that renting a jeep is a more comfortable and convenient option for exploring the Mui Ne desert, especially when considering the cost per person.
In conclusion, while riding a motorbike in Mui Ne can be an exciting adventure, it's crucial to prioritize safety and adhere to the speed limit. Renting a jeep offers a more relaxed and enjoyable experience, especially for those who prefer to avoid potential traffic violations.
We've arrived! The Sand Dunes of Mui Ne
After an hour-long drive through vast stretches of ocean, we finally reached the desert. The journey may have been long, but the breathtaking beauty of the sand dunes erases all fatigue.
With such a pose, the picture is sure to be a million likes!!
Millions of these pictures! Oh my god!
The desert trip was the most enjoyable for Kale, as it was the only place she had planned to visit.
Kale had always wanted to visit the desert, and she was overjoyed. She was grinning from ear to ear.
We walked until sand got into our shoes for about 8 queues. We should go back because it looks like it's going to rain again.
And then the gloomy sky really came true.
On the way back, we rode our motorbikes back to the hotel in the rain.
It wasn't just a light rain, it was raining heavily!! TOT Hohohohohoho
Translation:
After driving through the rain, we arrived at our room and took showers and changed our clothes. This is the atmosphere inside our room in Mui Ne. Actually, a small room is enough for us because we only use the room to store our luggage and take showers. We will leave for Ho Chi Minh City tonight. The sleeper bus will pick us up at the hotel at 11 pm.
After we showered and changed our clothes, we used a hairdryer to dry our clothes, shoes, and hair. It took hours for everything to dry, but we didn't want to be without shoes. Before ending our short trip to Mui Ne, we had dinner in the hotel's restaurant. The hotel is located by the sea, and it was a shame that we didn't get to walk and take pictures on the beautiful beach. It's okay, though, we'll be back soon. It's so easy to fly to neighboring countries, it's like visiting a friend's house!
Translation:
The time has finally come for our sleeper bus to arrive. We booked it at the Mui Ne bus station earlier this afternoon. The staff told us to let them know our hotel name, and the bus would pick us up directly. It's truly amazing! It feels like sleeping in a box hostel. (The first sleeper bus we took to Da Lat wasn't as new as this one. My aunt prefers this one.)
We arrived back in Ho Chi Minh City around 5 am.
Good morning, Monday in Ho Chi Minh City
This is the sign in front of the bus station where we were dropped off. Kanom took a picture of the sign
in case we want to go to Mui Ne again next time, we can take the bus from this company. It's convenient and the bus is new and good.
And on the sign we will see the words "Saigon to Mui Ne", which means Ho Chi Minh City.
It is the former name that Thai people often call "Saigon". It is the largest city in South Vietnam.
It was once a French colony, so we often see architecture here that is somewhat similar to Europe.
As we arrived around 5:00 AM, the sun had not yet risen.
Therefore, we decided to find a 24-hour McDonald's to sit and wait while grabbing a bite to eat.
For today's walking tour concept, we'll be exploring the city at a leisurely pace.
We'll stop by anything that catches our eye along the way.
After waiting until around eight o'clock, we were led by Aam to the...
"War Remnants Museum"
This is a simple and short sentence.
This three-story war museum features air-conditioned and open-air exhibition halls showcasing photographs of soldiers from Vietnam, America, Japan, and other countries involved in the Vietnam War. Weapons, ammunition, bombs, and photographs of children affected by chemical warfare are displayed up close. Military uniforms, vintage cameras, and other artifacts are also on display. The museum provides a thought-provoking and immersive experience, leaving visitors with a mix of excitement and somber reflection.
After a leisurely fifteen-minute walk from the museum,
we arrived at the iconic Notre Dame Cathedral.
This landmark is a must-visit for any tourist in Vietnam, and we were no exception.
Cross the road from the North Church to the opposite side... there will be a post office.
"Saigon Central Post Office"
The most beautiful post office in Ho Chi Minh City, everyone comes here. Inside is a spacious hall.
There are many souvenirs for sale, but the products are not very diverse. There are just a lot of shops.
Walking along, I arrived here without realizing it. 5555 Aam said that this place looks familiar.
This place is the "Independence Palace".
I came here confused and left confused. 55555
This is amazing! Sweet coconut water to beat the heat… The friendly vendor was so friendly that it was shocking. He beckoned us to take photos before cutting open a coconut for each of us. Before calling for payment, he charged us a price comparable to coconut water at Starbucks. We were a little surprised, haha.
After a refreshing coconut water, we continued our walk with renewed energy.
We soon arrived at the city's landmark.
Ho Chi Minh Square (Tran Nguyen Hai Statue)
This spacious square features a fountain and a statue of former President Ho Chi Minh, situated in front of the French-style City Hall. As you might guess, Ho Chi Minh City was renamed after him.
Located in the heart of the city, the square offers a view of modern high-rise buildings with surprisingly light traffic. This was our last stop for taking photos before heading to the airport by taxi.
The taxi stopped on this side of the road after I hailed it...why would it cross the road to pick me up??
Go back!!! 5555555
We have arrived at Ho Chi Minh City Airport. However, it is not yet time to check in. What should we do?
Well...eat it!
First time trying Vietnamese burger, it's delicious.
The bread is like a steamed bun, but a little harder. Overall, it's great.
Translation:
Sigh, the trip is over! T^T
To those who have read this far, thank you for your patience! There's not much substance here, haha!
This is Kana's diary, and if it's helpful for anyone planning a trip, or even just looking for something entertaining to read, I'm happy! ^_^

# Trip Wrap-Up!
- We spent about 8,000 Thai baht per person on this trip (mostly on food, excluding airfare).
- We traveled long distances and mainly used motorbikes, so I recommend wearing a mask to cover your nose - there's a lot of dust!
- The food was delicious, but for drinks, I recommend sticking to simple things like canned water.
- Walking around or taking public transportation wasn't as scary as I initially thought.
- The Vietnamese people in all three cities were lovely and spoke politely. Some didn't smile much, but they weren't rude.
- We didn't encounter any scammers, and the taxis didn't cheat us. The only exception was the friendly coconut vendor who charged us a bit much.
- Crossing the street is a bit of an ordeal, so be extra careful. The traffic is really scary!
- I personally prefer the Starbucks green tea in Thailand (this one might be more to Vietnamese tastes).
- English is widely spoken, so communication was easy.
- Thank you for reading this far! I love you all! Ngoooo!
"Thank you!"
