BestIe Wanderer

Once again, we, Bestie Wanderer embarked on a relaxing trip to Khao Kho.

Once again, we chose to return to The Hill Khao Kho, a small but cozy resort managed by a kind grandmother. Every time we visit, we see her smiling and welcoming guests. :)

This was a short trip that we didn't plan much in advance. We went for 2 days and 1 night, just Saturday and Sunday, without much thought.

Seeking refuge from the hustle and bustle, I yearn to recharge my body and soul.
I long to wake up to the embrace of the morning mist, and as dusk settles, to savor the warmth of a crackling fire, grilling delectable treats amidst the cool air and the verdant tapestry of nature.

With your accommodation booked, it's time to recharge your batteries and immerse yourself in the beauty of nature!

Many of you may have seen our review of 'The Hill Khao Kho' before.
The last time we went, we slept in an air-conditioned tent for only a few hundred baht.

This time we chose to stay at a 'twin house', which is a small villa with two houses connected. It has 2 bedrooms, making it ideal for families or groups of friends. It's perfect for socializing, catching up, or having a barbecue in the afternoon sun.

The bedroom is equipped with a queen-size bed, a refrigerator, a water heater, a TV, and air conditioning.

Each bedroom has a private bathroom with a hot shower. Please bring your own toiletries, such as soap, shampoo, and toothpaste.

Note: The original text is empty, so the translation is also empty.

In the evening, we ordered a seafood and pork barbecue set to enjoy in front of our room. The resort provides a menu in the room, and we can order by phone.

Today, we enjoyed a seafood and pork combo meal, along with tom yum soup and fried rice, on the balcony outside our room.

Breakfast includes unlimited rice porridge, sausages, fried eggs, toast, tea, coffee, and fruits.

No need to worry if you've forgotten essentials like toothbrushes, powder, shampoo, or if you'd like to purchase additional snacks or drinks. A local convenience store is located a short distance from the resort, less than a 5-minute drive away. Feel free to ask the resort staff for directions.

The Hill Khao Kho offers a variety of accommodations, including air-conditioned tents, detached houses, and semi-detached houses like the one we recently visited. Prices include breakfast and range from 900-4,000 baht per room per night. Whether you're traveling solo, as a couple, or with your family, The Hill Khao Kho is the perfect place to escape and rejuvenate.

Note: Sea of mist viewing trips are highly dependent on luck and weather conditions on the day of the trip. Please manage your expectations accordingly.

For those without personal transportation who wish to experience the ambiance, we recommend Hertz Rent a Car (Hertz Thailand) car rental services. Bookings and vehicle selections can be conveniently made through their website, www.hertzthailand.com. Alternatively, contact their Call Center at 02 266 4666.

Hertz offers a convenient advantage over other rental companies: customers renting a car in Bangkok can pick it up at the Sukhumvit Court Sathorn branch, located near the Tisco building and conveniently close to our home. The branch is open from 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM, allowing customers to pick up their car after work and head straight to their destination.

Hertz has numerous branches across the country, catering to customers in all regions. To find a branch near you and its operating hours, please visit: http://www.hertzthailand.com/branch.php

What to Bring When Picking Up Your Hertz Rental Car

To ensure a smooth and efficient rental experience, please bring the following items with you when picking up your Hertz rental car:

  • Credit card: A valid credit card is required for payment and to secure the deposit.
  • Government-issued photo ID: This could be your passport, driver's license, or national identity card.
  • Valid driver's license: Your driver's license must be valid in the country where you are renting the car.
  • Rental confirmation: Bring a copy of your rental confirmation, either printed or on your mobile device.

Additional items that may be helpful:

  • Proof of insurance: If you are not purchasing Hertz's insurance, you may need to provide proof of your own insurance coverage.
  • International Driving Permit (IDP): If you are renting a car in a country that requires an IDP, be sure to bring it with you.
  • Additional driver's information: If you are adding additional drivers to the rental agreement, they will need to present their driver's licenses as well.

By having all of these items readily available, you can expedite the rental process and get on the road quickly.

On the day of your car pick-up, simply head to your chosen branch. Be sure to bring your ID card, driver's license, booking confirmation, and credit card for rental and deposit payments. The deposit amount is 10,000 baht, which will be fully refunded upon returning the car without any accidents or damages.

A major advantage of driving yourself is the freedom to stop wherever you like, whether it's to admire a scenic view or capture a stunning photograph. Additionally, rental car prices have become increasingly competitive with public transportation, making it a more affordable option than ever before.

When there are promotions, renting a Toyota Yaris can cost as low as 700 baht per day.
