Hello and welcome back to our page, Deawpapai - Deawpapai, a group of backpacker-style tourists who love to travel by train. This time, we will take you on a one-day trip to Phetchaburi province with a budget of only 150 baht. If you are ready, let's start the journey with us!

We can also travel to Phetchaburi Railway Station from Hua Lamphong Railway Station. However, the train departs from Hua Lamphong at 09:20 AM and arrives in Phetchaburi around 12:34 PM. Therefore, we started our journey at Thon Buri Railway Station because there is an early morning train at 07:30 AM. We arrived at Thon Buri Railway Station at 07:00 AM and used one ID card to get one free ticket. The train we used was a free train, Train No. 255, from Thon Buri to Lang Suan. The train departs at 07:30 AM. While waiting for our friends to arrive, we took photos around the station.

The morning view at Thon Buri Station is quite pleasant.

Train Timetable Sign at Thon Buri Station

Our friends have arrived, and we need to hurry to secure our seats. Since it's a free train with no assigned seating, we'll need to use our skills to snag a good spot. 😜😜

7:30 AM: Time to depart. The wheels start to turn. All members are present. Let's capture some memorable photos before we set off. "Travel with us and experience a fulfilling trip without breaking the bank."

One of the charms of traveling by train is that you don't have to worry about being hungry. During the journey, vendors will come around selling local snacks and food at affordable prices. We were the first to grab some sticky rice and grilled pork.

Is the green curry wrapped in banana leaves delicious?

Add will be there too!

Scenery during the journey

10.40 a.m. The train safely arrived at Phetchaburi Station, 10 minutes late. This is considered a bonus in our journey. ^^

Across from the train station, there is a shop selling fresh, chilled coconut water. Stop by and support them! Most importantly, the vendor is beautiful and very kind.

We have arranged a car for the whole day's sightseeing. The car will pick you up at Phetchaburi Railway Station. The driver is very friendly. You can contact him at 0802375920.

Even though some people may come alone, and some may not know anyone, we get to know each other on the trip, making the atmosphere extremely friendly.

One last photo before embarking on a journey to experience the beauty of @Khao Luang Cave.

The Khao Luang Cave is only 2.5 kilometers from the train station.

After a 10-minute drive, we arrived at the entrance of Khao Luang Cave. The young men took a selfie to commemorate the occasion.

The translation of "ทางขึ้นถ้ำเขาหลวงครับ" is "Entrance to Khao Luang Cave."

To reach Khao Luang, you must take the shuttle bus provided at the Tham Khao Luang entrance. It is not possible to drive your own vehicle up the mountain.

From different backgrounds, but now we travel together, we are friends. One... Two... Three... Smile ^^

The ascent is not very steep, but you need to transfer to another vehicle for 20 baht each way.

The friends all arrived one after another, and we asked for a group photo to keep as a memory of our trip here.

Speaking of the locals, the locals are here. 55

The path to the top is not far, only about 300 meters, and it is not very steep, making it an easy and comfortable walk.

Upon passing through the archway, a staircase descends to the lower level.

The entrance to the cave is located below. We want to say that the actual place is much more beautiful than the pictures in the reviews. At this point, there will be volunteer guides who will provide information about the history of the place to tourists.

Khao Luang Cave is located on Khao Luang Mountain, approximately 5 kilometers from Khao Wang. Concrete stairs lead from the foot of the mountain to the cave entrance. Khao Luang is a small mountain with a peak of only 92 meters, featuring beautiful stalactites and stalagmites. Khao Luang Cave is considered the largest and most important cave in Phetchaburi. Inside the cave, there is an important Buddha statue, which was built by King Chulalongkorn as a tribute to King Mongkut. The highlight of visiting Khao Luang Cave is witnessing the sunlight shining down from the ceiling's light shaft, illuminating the cave floor like a spotlight. This spectacular sight is best observed between 9:30 and 10:30 AM. The appearance of the light beam varies depending on the season's weather conditions.

Volunteer guides provide information to tourists.

The highlight of this cave is the point where everyone comes to take pictures. It is the point where the cave ceiling has a hole and sunlight shines down as a beam. If you want to get a beautiful picture of this angle, we recommend coming between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM. We guarantee it will be beautiful.

The group photo is a must-have. Don't miss it!

From the main hall where we took the group photo, we can walk into another chamber of the cave. Follow me!

The interior houses a reclining Buddha statue, an ancient artifact dating back to the reign of King Rama IV. The statue measures 14 meters in length. Historical records indicate that construction began during the reign of King Rama IV, reaching a length of 9 meters before completion under King Rama V. A passageway leads further into the interior beyond this chamber.

The room is spacious with stalactites and stalagmites, and a beam of light shines down, just like the first room. The air inside the cave is cool and comfortable, not humid at all.

Observe the beauty of nature. The stalactites and stalagmites, when viewed closely, resemble a three-headed elephant.

From the point of the stalactites and stalagmites of the three-headed elephant, walk straight ahead to find a Buddha statue where we can pay respects and make a wish. This point is the last point where you can walk in.

We concluded our visit to Khao Luang Cave with a group photo. After spending an hour and a half at the cave, it was time to return to the vehicle and proceed to our next destination.

On the way back, you can walk to the shuttle bus stop and take the bus down. You don't need to pay for the bus anymore because we already paid 20 baht when we came up. ^^

Our next destination is @Khao Wang or Phra Nakhon Khiri, approximately 5 kilometers from Tham Khao Luang.

Khao Wang, also known as Phra Nakhon Khiri Historical Park, is a prominent landmark and tourist destination in Phetchaburi, Thailand. Situated atop a 92-meter hill, it offers panoramic views of the surrounding area. Originally called Khao Samon or Khao Khiri, the site boasts ancient structures and whitewashed pagodas that stand as a testament to the city's rich history. As a symbol of Phetchaburi, Khao Wang welcomes visitors daily from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

Admission fee (including admission to the Phra Nakhon Khiri National Museum) for Thai citizens is 20 baht.

Tourists can access Khao Wang by walking or taking the electric tram (round-trip tickets include all entrance fees). The cost is 50 baht for adults and 20 baht for children.

From Khao Luang Cave, it takes about 10 minutes by car to reach Khao Wang. There are shops selling food and souvenirs near the parking lot.

To reach the top of Khao Wang, you can either climb the stairs or take the electric tram.

The entrance fee is 20 baht per person.

The round-trip fare for the electric tram is 50 baht per person.

The electric tram can only accommodate 20 passengers per trip.

The atmosphere on the electric tram evokes the feeling of a chugging train. Onboard, an official sits at the rear of the tram holding a red umbrella, which we understand is to prevent monkeys from entering the train.

Disembarking from the tram, there is no need to worry about getting lost as there are signs all along the way.

We had 1.5 hours for our friends to explore Khao Wang at their leisure.

The atmosphere is incredibly cool and refreshing.

Despite their adorable appearance, they can be quite mischievous.

After spending exactly one and a half hours at Khao Wang, it was time to move on to our next destination. We concluded our visit with a group photo.

Our next destination is the "Wang Ban Puen Palace".

13.50 hrs. The car is ready, the people are ready, let's roll! ^^

It is approximately 4 kilometers from Khao Wang, not far.

We have arrived at the Wang Ban Puen Palace after a 10-minute drive from Khao Wang. It is now 2:00 PM.

....Vang Ban Puen Palace was built during the reign of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V), who desired a European-style palace for use as a rainy season retreat. The palace was constructed in a European architectural style and is considered one of the most beautiful palaces in Thailand.....

The interior features a large, circular hall with a striking, dome-shaped roof in the European style. Flanked by staircases on either side, the hall houses statues of King Chulalongkorn and King Vajiravudh. Most of the rooms on the upper floor are open halls with wooden floors. The walls are adorned with intricate wood carvings, showcasing remarkable artistry. The windows are embellished with stained glass depicting various patterns. On the lower floor, a central passageway leads to a small fountain garden surrounded by the palace's surrounding halls.

Lush greenery, we must say. As Wang Ban Pun was not originally on the itinerary, we made a quick stop for our friends to take photos for about 40 minutes.

While you may not spend a long time admiring the beauty of the palace, we believe that everyone who comes will surely enjoy the train ride with new friends and new friendships.

Unfortunately, I am unable to provide photographs of the interior of certain buildings due to photography restrictions within the halls. Visitors are kindly requested to adhere to the regulations in order to preserve and protect our national treasures. The Phra Ram Ratchaniwet Palace is open to the public daily from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Although it was a rushed trip with a tight schedule to see everything in one day, we believe that you will definitely enjoy this journey.

It is now 2:40 PM, and it is almost time to return to the Phetchaburi Railway Station to catch the train. The train departs Phetchaburi at 3:10 PM.

The Wang Ban Puen Palace is only 3 kilometers from Phetchaburi Railway Station. We have 20 minutes before the train departs from Phetchaburi Station.

It took about 7 minutes to reach the train station as planned. Upon arrival, we gathered our ID cards to exchange for free train tickets back to Bangkok.

Let's take a group photo as a souvenir before the train arrives.

15.10 hrs. The train arrived at Phetchaburi station on time. As usual, since it is a free train, there are no assigned seats. Passengers need to use their skills to find seats in order to sit together as a group as much as possible.

The vintage wooden chair, refurbished and painted in a retro style, evokes a nostalgic feeling of riding an old-fashioned train.

Though the train may be slow, it is safe. Passengers can enjoy the scenery and observe the communities along the route. Moreover, there are vendors selling food throughout the journey, ensuring that no one goes hungry.

People from different backgrounds, who didn't know each other before, came together on this trip. We got to know each other during the journey, and now we are friends. We are happy that everyone enjoyed their time with us.

Who fell asleep and got 😃😃?
