October 13, 2017, marked the first anniversary of the passing of "Father."
This morning, thick fog blanketed the land, much like on this day last year.

A year has passed, but the King's memory remains in our hearts, never fading.
Longing leads us on a journey, aboard a Chao Phraya Express Boat,
to the "Railway Station," following the footsteps of "Our Father."

"…It has been said that a kingdom is like a pyramid, with the monarch at the top and the people at the bottom. But in Thailand, everything seems to be the opposite. That's why I always have a stiff neck and shoulders."

This quote, from an interview given by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej to National Geographic in 1982, marked the beginning of the use of the inverted pyramid symbol as a key element of…

…the 'Head of the Nawa Ratchakri Dynasty' exhibition."

"Mirror Pyramid" stands tall by the Chao Phraya River

Located at the Siriraj Medical Museum, the "Mirror Pyramid" exhibition, organized by the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, Siriraj Museum Unit, will be open to the public until October 31st.

An Exhibition Like No Other

This open-air exhibition showcases photographs of the King's tireless work, enduring the harsh elements of sun and rain. It serves as a poignant reminder of his unwavering dedication, traveling to every corner of the kingdom, undeterred by the challenges he faced.

As I walk past the glass pyramid, images of King Bhumibol Adulyadej's tireless work in every region of Thailand are reflected in every corner, amidst the blazing afternoon sun. It feels like traveling back in time, following in his footsteps, and witnessing the sacrifices he made for his people in every corner of the country.

Napan Sevikun, a photographer who served His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej from 1978 to 1984, for approximately six years, has organized an exhibition of his photographs of the King at work.

The exhibition is housed in a pyramid structure with 24 glass panels, each 8 meters high and 8 meters wide, resembling a kaleidoscope. The photographs are displayed inside the pyramid, divided into four sections representing the four regions of Thailand. Visitors can enter and view the exhibition from all four sides.

Passengers arriving by Chao Phraya Express Boat should disembark at the #TrainPier. Along the route from the pier, photographs of the King during his reign are displayed, leading to the front of the museum, where marigolds, His Majesty's favorite flower, are in full bloom.
