This trip is a stopover trip. On the 13th-15th, I will have to go hiking at Phnum Bencha. So I had the opportunity to come to Krabi before my friends. 555+ Escape for a solo trip for two days first. The first day is a chill trip. Review in the city. The second day will be a trip to 4 islands, including Talay Waek. I have already bought a tour for the second day. 1 day ฿450

Initially, I planned to take a bus to Krabi for 554 baht. However, when it was time to travel, there was a promotion on flights for 679 baht with Thai Lion Air, which offers 15 kg of free baggage allowance. So, I opted for the flight instead.

November 10, 1960

Flight SL-802, 8:25 AM. Early morning work is here. Check-in opens at 6:25 AM, waiting to board at 7:55 AM before the plane takes off. It takes a very long time. This caused the arrival in Krabi to be later than scheduled.

Arriving at Krabi Airport at 10:10 am. Waiting for luggage. In the morning like this, I'll find something to eat first. Because it will be after two in the afternoon before I can check into my accommodation.

Exit the airport and cross the street to the bus stop pavilion. Wait there for a shared taxi (songthaew) heading towards Krabi Town. Board the blue songthaew, which will make a U-turn near the Black Crab Monument. The fare is 20 baht. From there, walk to your accommodation in Soi Maharaj 5.

Bus stop pavilion, waiting for a shared taxi to the city center.

For those who prefer not to adjust their posture like me, the airport offers a wide variety of transportation options.

The car will be parked near the Black Crab Square. Then, walk along Luang Pho Road towards the Maharaj Market.

Accommodation

My priority for accommodation is affordability and convenience. I'm not picky and can sleep anywhere, so I don't need a fancy or expensive place. For me, this is the best option. The accommodation cost is ฿104 per night, and I'm staying for two nights, for a total of ฿208. I booked through Agoda. The accommodation is called Amity Poshtel, and it's a dormitory-style room with six beds. I'm excited about this because it's a great way to meet new people.

As check-in was not until 2 pm, I left my luggage and went to find something to eat and take photos around the Black Crab Square.

Today's trip was uneventful, consisting mainly of eating, sightseeing, and sleeping.

In the evening, you can find something to eat near the walking street, which is close to the hotel where you are staying. It's just a short walk away. A little further down the road, there is a public park where you can exercise.

This market offers a diverse selection of cuisine from all regions of Thailand. It features seating areas and live music for your enjoyment.

12/10/60

Today is a day trip. I have already booked a tour. It was a pre-booking through Facebook. The tour price for one day is ฿450 for a 4-island trip, including the Talay Waek, by long-tail boat. Last night, I had a bit too much beer. This morning, I still feel a bit dizzy. 555. 07.00 am, I woke up, took a shower, and got dressed. The tour's shuttle will pick me up at the hotel around 08.00-08.30 am.

The car arrived on time at 8:00 AM. I hadn't eaten breakfast yet, but luckily I had already had a cup of coffee. It was a long drive to the port.

I booked a tour through Facebook. The name of the tour is s.siam tour and the price is 450 baht. I paid a deposit of 250 baht.

The car will pick you up and drop you off at the boarding point. Here you will need to pay the remaining 200 baht. However, the actual boat and tour operator is a different company.

The heavy rain that fell all day while waiting to board the ship left me soaked all day.

The first island, reached around 10:00 AM, offers 35 minutes of exploration. The island features a shrine dedicated to grandparents, revered by locals. Restrooms are available for 10฿, and a restaurant is present (likely open in the evening). A "sea parting" phenomenon is also present, although high tide prevented its observation during this visit.

The second island, Talay Waek. Today, we could only walk to one island because the tide was high and the wind was strong, making it impossible to walk to the other island. We were given until 11:30 AM to walk because we were going to go snorkeling afterwards.

The third island, Ko Kai, is a great place for snorkeling. Unfortunately, my underwater camera broke, so I don't have any pictures to show you.

The fourth island, Koh Poda, is where we stopped for lunch. The tour provided a variety of food options. The island has restrooms, shops, and park rangers. It rained all day, so there aren't many pictures.

Our tour guides today were amazing! They were very friendly and took great care of us. To book a tour, please contact Barracudas at https://web.facebook.com/barracudastours/

The journey from the island takes approximately one hour by long-tail boat, departing around 2 pm and arriving at the mainland around 3 pm.

The hotel pick-up car will also be waiting to take you back. Free delivery, no extra charge. If you go on a diving trip, it is recommended to bring a towel and a sweater. The weather changes all the time.

The Krabi trip was satisfactory. If I have the opportunity, I will return to visit again because I haven't been to the famous islands yet. Due to limited time, I could only visit this much.

(The pictures are plentiful, I will post them gradually.)

Expenses:

The cost of accommodation for 2 nights is 208 baht.

450 baht for island tour

Food expenses 500 (with surplus)

The cost of a songthaew is 20 baht.

Total 1178 baht (excluding travel expenses)
