The Char Bangkok restaurant is the second branch of the restaurant, following the first branch in Shanghai, China. This branch is located on the 25th and 26th floors of the Indigo Bangkok Hotel on Witthayu Road. The restaurant's name is an abbreviation of "Charcoal," and its main menu features grilled dishes. The restaurant positions itself as a modern steakhouse that aims to add excitement to dining through its grilled and other dishes. The restaurant has brought in Chef Nikolas Ramirez, a young and creative chef from Hawaii, USA, to prepare the food for us in this review. Don't feel bad if you get confused about who is the chef and who is the football player.



The space is compact yet well-organized with ample seating, featuring high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows that create an airy atmosphere. The décor blends retro and industrial styles, achieving a sophisticated and stylish ambiance that balances elegance with a comfortable, welcoming feel. Seating options include plush chairs, long sofas, and bar stools. Additionally, private booths and rooms are available upon reservation.

Sunday TOMAHAWK

This dish features 30-day dry-aged Australian Wagyu beef, cooked to perfection using traditional methods. The result is melt-in-your-mouth tenderness and juicy flavor, complemented by a rich, full-bodied aroma.

Accompanying the steak are two flavorful sauces: a rich Western-style butter sauce and a spicy Thai chimichurri. Fresh, seasonal local vegetables provide a crisp and refreshing counterpoint to the richness of the meat.

This dish is a must-try for any meat lover.

Special promotion: Order this menu on Sunday and receive a 40% discount. For the piece in this review, weighing approximately 1 kilogram, the price will be around 1,680++ baht (1,978 baht net). From experience, this is considered a strong promotion because it is almost impossible to find a 1-kilogram Tomahawk steak at a hotel with excellent taste and beautiful atmosphere for less than 2,000 baht. This is a deal that should not be missed. Highly recommended.

‘King Carb’
This dish features four large, succulent king crab legs grilled to perfection. Each leg is prepared in a unique way:
Salmon roe – The burst of salmon roe adds a burst of sweetness and creaminess to the crab meat.
Truffle – The earthy aroma of truffle elevates the flavor of the crab meat, creating a luxurious experience.
Oyster – The use of whole oysters, along with shrimp roe and sea urchin roe, provides a distinct and harmonious seafood flavor.
Herbs – A medley of herbs, garlic, and olive oil creates a light, refreshing flavor profile. This leg is recommended as a starting point due to its subtle taste.

‘SPICY TUNA TARTARE’
The generous portion is visually appealing. The well-mixed ingredients create a smooth texture with a distinct, rich flavor and a subtle spiciness from paprika. The dish is further enhanced by crispy, aromatic fried wonton strips, providing a satisfying contrast of textures. The combination of smooth and crunchy elements is well-executed.

‘FOIE GRAS TORCH’
This torch-seared foie gras boasts an incredibly light texture without compromising on flavor. Its rich aroma and intense taste shine through, making it a delight on its own. Pairing it with bread enhances both the flavor and texture, creating an even more enjoyable experience. Highly recommended.

'AUSTRALIAN LAMB'

This dish features beautifully trimmed, standard-sized pieces of lamb with a tender texture and minimal specific odor. The lamb itself is well-prepared, but the true star of the show is the sauce. It boasts a rich, complex aroma and flavor, with a depth that sets it apart. Upon inquiry, the chef revealed the secret ingredient: curry powder, which adds a unique and savory note. The accompanying vegetables are also delicious and flavorful, complementing the main course perfectly.

'Potato Puree'

This dish features a rich truffle aroma and a velvety smooth texture. The seasoning is well-balanced and flavorful, without being overpowering. A classic choice, highly recommended.

'Parfait'

This multi-layered parfait boasts a delightful combination of textures and flavors. Coconut crumble, coconut tapioca, lemon curd, sorbet, pomelo, and meringue come together in a symphony of crunchy, chewy, and smooth sensations. The sweet, tangy, and creamy notes are perfectly balanced with a subtle hint of salt, creating an unforgettable culinary experience. Highly recommended!

‘Banana Cheesecake’
This dessert menu incorporates various banana preparations, including frozen, puree, cheesecake, and cookies. It emphasizes the natural, unadulterated flavor of bananas, making it a healthy option. The taste offers a variety of textures and a distinct banana flavor with a well-balanced, smooth aroma. The level of coldness is perfect. If you already enjoy bananas, this is a must-try.

The cocktails are strong and flavorful, delivering a satisfying experience. The menu offers a variety of standard options. A noteworthy promotion features six oysters paired with a bottle of rosé or sparkling wine for 1,800++ baht, offering excellent value.
