Sala Ayutthaya: A Timeless Gem

Sala Ayutthaya is not a new hotel, but its stunning design and clear concept have kept it at the forefront of popularity. I, too, have long desired to stay here, and upon finally doing so, I was not disappointed. The beauty is simply breathtaking! The space is well-organized, offering countless photo opportunities. In this review, I will share my overall impressions, aiming to provide comprehensive information, including directions, room types, prices, and more. So, without further ado, let's dive in!

Transportation

This trip, I did not use a private car. Instead, I took a van from Bangkok to Ayutthaya. The van departed from Mo Chit 2 Bus Terminal and arrived in Ayutthaya city center in approximately one hour. The fare was 60 baht per person. From there, I took a tuk-tuk to my accommodation, which cost 40 baht per person and took less than 15 minutes.

Upon arrival, guests are greeted with a refreshing welcome drink, a traditional Thai herbal infusion, to combat the sweltering Ayutthaya heat. The front desk leads to the SALA AYUTTHAYA gallery, showcasing a rotating selection of artworks by various artists, including paintings and photographs.

Exiting the gallery, you will find yourself at a popular spot: the brick wall walkway. At first glance, it appears to be just a regular walkway, but behind the wall are actually superior rooms. The space is used efficiently, and another thing I liked was the presence of glass bowls filled with water placed along the walkway. Seeing them instantly refreshed us, as the weather was very hot on the day we visited. The hotel has very few trees due to its limited space, and the brick walls give it a dry feeling. Having water around was a welcome sight. :’)

A Glimpse into SALA AYUTTHAYA

Before we delve into other aspects of this charming hotel, let's gather some basic information. SALA AYUTTHAYA is a boutique hotel boasting 26 rooms across 5 categories. Its modern and minimalist design features a calming palette of white, cream, brown, and blue. One of its key highlights is its prime location along the Chao Phraya River, offering stunning views of Wat Phutthaisawan temple across the water. Even if you're not a guest, you can still indulge in the hotel's culinary offerings. However, for dinner reservations are highly recommended due to its popularity.

Now that you have a clearer picture, let's move on to the hotel's central swimming pool, a space that truly captured my heart.

The bright white light hurts my eyes as soon as I walk in. The sky is beautiful today, with a clear blue contrasting sharply with the white. I'm guessing girls spend at least an hour here, because there are so many photo spots. Guys, if you're bringing your girlfriend, be patient. If you can't think of a pose, just borrow one from Ping. Here are some references for you.

** 5 Room Types **

After exploring the common areas, let's take a look at our room. The hotel offers superior, deluxe river view, deluxe river view terrace, 1 bedroom pool suite, and 1 bedroom duplex river view suite. Prices start at 3,600 baht per night if you book directly through the hotel's website. There are also special prices available, and if you book early, you can get an even better deal. For more information, please visit this link: http://salahospitality.com/ayutthaya/sleep/
But for now, let's take a look at our 1 bedroom duplex river view suite and see how amazing it is. Let's go!

Our room has two floors. The lower floor is a living area with a TV, refrigerator, and a shower bathroom. The first thing you see when you open the door is the bathroom. I personally love the minimalist yet warm design. All the windows (glass) are covered with thin white curtains, making the room bright but not too glaring, comfortable for the eyes.

The second floor houses the bedrooms and bathrooms, both with bathtubs and showers.
The best part is that two people can shower at the same time without having to wait.
There's no need to go downstairs for a drink of water, as there's a refrigerator on the upper floor.
Tea, coffee, and a TV are also available on the upper floor, just like downstairs. The addition is a small dressing area.
And the view from the bedroom is simply stunning. Let's take a look.

It would be wonderful to wake up to this every day.

The second-floor bathroom is...

All rooms have bathtubs, so you can take cool photos in the bathtub even if you don't stay in this room.
What I like is that the bathtubs are arranged differently in each room.
Some rooms have a corner bathtub, while others have a bathtub in the middle.
Let's see which room you get! 5555555555

** Boat trip to see the way of life along the river, temples and important places **

The next activity is a popular activity for people who come to stay here.
That is, taking a boat to see the way of life along the river. It's fun to sit in the evening.
It takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes. Along the way, you will see
houses along the river, Japanese villages, Portuguese villages.
Various temples There are stops to feed the fish, etc. Anyone interested can contact the
front desk of 'SALA AYUTTHAYA'.
If you are not interested, try looking at the pictures I took before. You might change your mind. Haha

** EATERY AND BAR **

For dinner, we dined at EATERY AND BAR in SALA AYUTTHAYA. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating, but most people prefer to sit outdoors for dinner because it is not hot and offers a full view of Wat Phutthaisawan. We also chose to sit outdoors. (We will post pictures of the indoor area for breakfast, so don't go anywhere yet.)
As mentioned at the beginning of the review, you don't have to stay at the hotel to eat here. For a special occasion, it is recommended to book a table in advance at 035-242-588 or [email protected].

A must-try menu when visiting Ayutthaya is the river prawns.
Large prawns with creamy roe, and other recommended menus
such as seafood spaghetti, winged bean salad with river prawns, pomelo salad with grilled prawns
Fried spring rolls, stir-fried noodles with prawns, really delicious, I confirm.
I've tried all the menus I mentioned 5555555

Let's take a look at the breakfast atmosphere.
This time, we chose to sit in the indoor zone because the space is quite small.
This place does not serve breakfast buffet, but serves breakfast sets.
We can choose the set that catches our eye from the breakfast menu.
You can eat it with tea, coffee, or order something else to eat with it.
We ordered the Egg Benedict set and the bread set. <3

After a delicious breakfast, we went back to our room to relax and take more photos. We didn't want to leave! This hotel is definitely in my top 3 favorite hotels in Thailand. Our trip isn't over yet, we're heading to a cafe next, but here are the links for anyone who wants to follow in our footsteps.

** SAY cafe and gallery **

SAY cafe and gallery is a cafe, restaurant, gallery, and souvenir shop all in one. It is also a cafe under the SALA group. I swear I only found out later that the cafe belongs to SALA because when I was looking for cafes in Ayutthaya, I had already noted that I would come here. Poof, I got my wish! It's not far from my accommodation either. You can call a tuk-tuk for 30 baht each.

The restaurant has two floors. The first floor is for dining and drinks, and there is also a souvenir shop. The second floor is a gallery. There is parking and a garden behind the restaurant for those who enjoy the outdoors.
