Missing Him, So I Went to See Him (Mountain)

Note: This translation focuses on conveying the meaning of the original text in a simple and concise way, while maintaining a formal academic style.

Before I begin, I must clarify that all the photos were taken with a phone by someone with no photography skills. Haha!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Have you ever been deeply attached to someone?

So much so that when they're gone,

Life feels strange,

Like something is missing.

I was in a relationship with someone since I was in 10th grade. Now I'm in my 3rd year of college, and we just broke up not long ago. He's from Nan province, which is the reason I got to visit this province. The first day I stepped off the tour bus and set foot on Nan soil was March 26, 2012. Since then, I've been to Nan many times, probably more than 20. I really like it here. The city is clean, peaceful, and the people are friendly. I've been to many provinces, but I like this one the most. I want to live here. I was thinking that after I graduate, I'll take the exam to get a job here. I want to be a teacher on the mountain, haha. But for now, it's probably just a dream. :(

Okay, let's stop the drama and get to the point. I'm a big fan of riding motorcycles. Whenever I'm feeling stressed or tired, I love to go for a ride.

Hey guys, wanna go for a drive in Nan with me?

Friend 1: Interesting.

Friend 2: Are you going back to him again?

Friend 3: I knew they wouldn't last long.

Me: If I'm going to see him, why did I invite you guys to come along...

In the end, no one came with me. I might as well go alone.

Let's go! I departed from Loei Province around 7:30 AM.

With my trusty car, a backpack, and a small tent strapped to the back, I was ready to hit the road. In reality, I had a lot of clothes stashed under the seat.

I tend to overpack clothes whenever I travel, bringing more than I need and then choosing what to wear on the spot.

Ride freely, enjoy the scenery, stop wherever you want, and park wherever it's beautiful. This is the advantage of a motorcycle.

My journey

It is about pushing myself out of my comfort zone

To encounter new things

If the journey brings us joy, then the destination may not be the answer to everything.

We have arrived in Nan Province.

Let's continue, but today I won't go into the city. When I reach Wiang Sa district, I will turn right and head towards Doi Pha Hom Pok National Park first.

The road from Wiang Sa district to Na Noi district is incredibly enjoyable to drive.

The drivers here are courteous and signaled for me to overtake.

**This route is highly recommended for motorcycle enthusiasts.**

**It took 9 hours to drive to Doi Pha Hom Pok National Park.**

**///////////**

"Excuse me, is the tent area full?"

It seems to be full, there are a lot of people.

Where am I going to sleep now? :( :(

May I try going up to see?

The entrance fee is 40 baht, including the cost of a motorbike.

Stop by before reaching the tent site.

That's the Nan River you see.

When you reach the campsite, park your car and take a walk to enjoy the view.

Excuse me, are there any campsites available?

Anywhere is free, you can set up your tent.

:D What are you waiting for? Hurry up!

After setting up the tent, I went to sit and watch the sunset.

Change the place where you rush to the mountain ridge.

Sitting alone until dark, it's starting to get cold now.

But I won't go down, I don't know what to do if I go down.

Sitting listening to music alone, thinking about this and that.

If you were here, it would be nice. Haha.

Who said time will make everything better?

I'm one of those who disagree.

Actually, I've been to Doi Samer Dao once before.

I came with that person.

When the sunlight disappears, the stars in the sky become clearer and clearer.

Wow... the Milky Way is so beautiful.

The person next to me shouted.

It really is, it's the first time I've seen the Milky Way. But unfortunately, my camera can't take pictures of it.

I sat listening to my music, it started to get colder and colder.

So I went down to take a shower and sleep.

But when I got down, it wasn't cold at all.

It must be cold up there because of the strong wind.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

GOOD MORNING

Woke up late, take a shower later, let's go see the sea of fog first.

The public announcement then mentioned another spot for viewing the Talay Mok:

Pha Chu, located approximately 4 kilometers from here.

So, what are you waiting for? Let's go!

I made several stops along the way.

We have arrived at the beautiful Pha Cho viewpoint. Let's take lots of pictures!

After that, I drove back up to Doi Pha Hom Pok to find something to eat. There are many restaurants here. After finishing my meal, I packed up my tent. Oh no! I haven't taken a picture of the sign yet!

Come up and take a picture of the sign.

Twin Trees

Over there is the Lion's Head Cliff. Last time I saw people climb up there, but this time I don't see anyone. I don't know if the officials still allow people to climb up there.

Let's continue our journey to Khun Sathan National Park. It's about 48 kilometers from Doi Pha Hom Pok, but the road is quite challenging. It's uphill, narrow, and has many curves.

It's already 10:30 am, and the fog is still thick.

The majority of farmers in this area cultivate crops such as cabbage, strawberries, and grapes.

Currently, they are preparing to welcome tourists during the upcoming winter season.

After a brief stop, I headed back down to the city.

I found a place to stay and took a nap. Around 3 pm, I went to visit a temple in the city center.

The first stop was Wat Phumin.

The government once printed an image of Wat Phumin on the one baht banknote. Another unique feature of this temple is the image of Pu Man and Ya Man.

Next to Phumin Temple is Wat Phra That Chang Kham Worawihan.

In close proximity, the Nan National Museum is situated on the opposite corner of the same intersection.

After taking several photos, I decided to ask, "Excuse me, could you please take a picture of me? I'll walk over and you can just take a bunch of shots."

Next up, just a short walk away, is Wat Ming Mueang, the Nan City Pillar Shrine.

This time, we'll venture further out to Wat Phra That Khao Noi, where we'll enjoy panoramic views of Nan city from above.

Then I went down and stopped by Wat Si Phanthong.

Let's move on before it gets dark. Let's go to Phra That Chae Haeng, the main pagoda for people born in the year of the rabbit.

After descending from Phra That Chae Haeng, I encountered a breathtaking sunset view. Be sure to stop by and witness it for yourself.

Before checking into my accommodation, I stopped by the Khwang Muang Nan Walking Street. It's a pedestrian street lined with vendors selling goods and food. There were also khantoke sets available for purchase, where you could sit and eat. However, I didn't take any pictures because my phone camera doesn't work well at night.

After checking in, I planned my itinerary for the next day. I intended to drive towards Santisuk, take a scenic drive on the elevated road, and visit Bo Kluea District.

Then, I would head down to Pua District and return to the city for another night before departing the following morning.

However, around midnight, I received bad news that someone close to me had been in an accident.

Therefore, I canceled all my plans and decided to end my trip there.

Leaving with the words:

We'll meet again...Nan
