Hello, Nan? Let's travel to Nan in 2017.
Late Rainy Season, Early Winter: Stories "Along the Way"
Let's gooooooooo to Nan...... 2017
This trip is a relaxing trip, traveling at a leisurely pace.
Review in a slow-life style, let's go : )
Start the journey
We embarked on our journey with Sombut Tour, boarding the bus at 7:30 PM. Our destination was the Pua Bus Terminal.
We arrived at "Pua Town" at approximately 6:30 AM.
This morning in Pua, the weather is cool and comfortable at 19 degrees Celsius.
After the bus arrived at the Pua Bus Terminal, we took care of some personal matters.
We waited for the car rental shop to open at 8:00 AM. We rented a car from "Suwatthana Yanayont."
While waiting for the car rental shop to open, let's take a stroll through the Pua fresh market and grab some snacks to keep our stomachs happy!
With the car rental settled, let's hit the road! Our first stop is...
Dog of the Tai Lue People - Wat Phra That Doi Kham
Top view of Phuket Temple.
A view of the rice fields from the top of the Phuket temple.
The rice harvest will be over by the time we arrive.
A small corner for resting while working in the rice fields.
This location offers homestay accommodations, including "Toop Na Tai Lue Toop Na Coffee".
After taking photos and enjoying the view for a while, it was time to continue our journey.
We called the homestay "Coffee Homestay Ban Tai Lue" to drop off our belongings before checking in. (The owner was very kind and allowed us to check in early.)
We checked into our accommodation to take care of some personal matters.
Front walkway of the accommodation.
The accommodation was excellent, consisting of four houses. (The establishment has recently opened for accommodation.) The price we paid was 1,500 baht per night, which included dinner, breakfast, and six drink coupons for the on-site restaurant.
Dinner at the Ban Tai Lue Coffee Homestay is a northern Thai meal.
Breakfast at the Tai Lue Homestay is a delicious rice porridge with various toppings. Note: We didn't take any pictures of the inside of the rooms.
After packing and taking care of personal errands, Ra went to take photos and enjoy drinks at a shop.
A View of the Rice Fields at "Baan Tai Lue Coffee Shop"
We do not drink coffee. Our preference is "green tea". 555
A view from the coffee shop, overlooking the mountains and villagers harvesting rice…
A view from the coffee shop. "Baan Tai Lue Coffee Shop" offers various photo spots. Let's take a look! : )
After taking a good number of photos, we glanced at our watches and realized it was almost noon. It was time to find a place for lunch.
For lunch, we decided to have a meal at the "Mushroom Farm Restaurant in Baan Huay Nam".
Let's take a look...
"Mushroom Farm at Baan Huanaam"
The must-try dish is the "mushroom pizza," which is absolutely delicious.
We ordered two dishes: mushroom larb and free-range chicken tom yum. This restaurant prepares its food without MSG.
Let's go for a drive and enjoy the scenery.
Stop for a photo along the way
After driving around Ban Huai Nam and enjoying the scenery, we returned to relax at the "Ban Kafae Tai Lue Homestay." This trip was all about relaxation, not sightseeing. 555+
Let's take a look at the evening atmosphere.

It's time to rest. See you tomorrow morning. zzZZ
Good morning from Pua, a charming little town I've fallen in love with. The morning air is pleasantly cool, with temperatures around 18-19 degrees Celsius.
Watching the sunrise, feeling the bliss. (Wish I could bottle this air and take it back to Bangkok.)
After a delicious breakfast, we packed our bags and checked out of our accommodation. It was time to head back to the charming city of Nan.
After returning the car, we hopped on a blue songthaew back to Nan city.
In Nan Province
From Pua, we returned to Nan city by blue songthaew, which took approximately 1.30 hours.
Upon arriving at Nan Bus Terminal, we rented a car from "Tono Car Rent," located a short distance from the station.
Then, we checked in to our accommodation, "Nan Lanna."
The accommodation is located in the center of Nan city, near Wat Phumin.
The room is spacious and the atmosphere is inviting and peaceful. The price is reasonable. (I was very impressed.)
After checking into the accommodation, taking care of personal matters, putting away belongings, and resting for a while...
We went out to find something to eat. The first place we tried was a "Tom Yum Noodle Shop". I don't remember the exact location, sorry! :(
"Full of delicious food, let's continue walking. In the city, you can enjoy a leisurely stroll and admire the many beautiful temples."
Let's go! Let's see together…
Temple of the Elephant-Supported Reliquary
Phumin Temple
Lilawadi Tunnel
After taking photos of the road, we headed back to our accommodation for a short break.
After a relaxing break, it's time to satisfy our hunger by strolling through the "Kad Khwang Muang Nan Walking Street". Located on the side of Wat Phumin, the street features a large open space in front of the temple to accommodate tourists and locals alike. It's the perfect spot to welcome visitors to Nan in the late afternoon and evening hours.
Phumin Temple at Night
After a satisfying meal and some relaxation, the cool air settled in. It was time to head back to our accommodations for a good night's sleep. Sweet dreams! zzZZ
Good morning! Let's go see the sunrise at "Wat Phra That Khao Noi". :)
The sun rises around 6:19 am (but the day we went there were a lot of clouds so we didn't see it).
View from the Khao Noi Temple viewpoint
After taking photos and praying for blessings, let's go find something delicious to eat. 🍽️
A Delicious Breakfast at "Khao Soi Ton Nam" in Nan
On our last morning in Nan, we stumbled upon the charming "Khao Soi Ton Nam" restaurant, nestled near Wat Ming Mueang (Nan City Pillar Shrine). Housed in a quaint two-story wooden building, the restaurant boasts a cozy atmosphere with just six tables.
Open from approximately 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, "Khao Soi Ton Nam" offers a delightful breakfast experience.
When visiting a khao soi restaurant, ordering khao soi is a must. Haha.
Followed by rice noodles with northern Thai curry and red pork with rice (hungry, aren't you?) 55+
After a satisfying breakfast, we finished packing and headed out to shop for souvenirs to bring back to Bangkok. Next to the museum, there are shops selling local handicrafts.
After shopping, we returned to our accommodation, showered, packed our belongings, checked out, and left our luggage at the hotel. (The hotel staff kindly allowed us to leave our belongings with them.)
We have half a day left before returning to Bangkok. Let's continue! :)
Phra That Chae Haeng Temple (the temple for the year of the rabbit) - even though we weren't born in the year of the rabbit. 55+
Shwedagon Pagoda (replica) is the pagoda for those born in the year of the Goat.
After praying and making merit, let's go find some dessert to fill our stomachs.
At "Aun Nim's Sweet Shop", a renowned dessert shop, finding the location was almost impossible, as the shop had relocated near the Nan Provincial Central Stadium.
Full and ready to go, but there are still many hours before the bus back to Bangkok.
Where to next...?
At "Baan Naan Coffee Library"
A two-story wooden house surrounded by a variety of flowering plants, situated on a 2 rai plot in the heart of Nan city. It operates as a guest house with 4 fan rooms, a "Nan-style library," and a coffee shop. The atmosphere is warm, shady, and peaceful, making it a very pleasant place to stay. (I think I'll stay here again next time I visit.)
The little cat is on its way to you now.
Would you like some dok pib? It's very fragrant. Haha.
We spent some time relaxing, taking photos, and then returned to the hotel to collect our belongings. We returned the rental car and waited for our transportation back to Bangkok.
