Another trip to Amphawa!

Since I was tired of Bangkok and wanted to visit a temple on Saturday and Sunday,

I decided to take a trip to Amphawa.

Let's talk about transportation.

The easiest way to get to Amphawa from Bangkok is by van.

You can now board at Pinklao, which is very convenient as it stops right at the floating market bridge.

But this time we drove, taking the Rama 2 highway and driving straight ahead.

There will be signs for Amphawa along the way.

We arrived around 1 pm.

You can park your car at Wat Amphawa. There is a shortcut to the floating market from the parking lot.

We arrived in the afternoon when it was scorching hot, and only a few shops were open.

We stopped for some coconut shell noodles to refuel before going to the temple to pray.

Only 20 baht

Then we went to find some water to drink, so we walked to the famous Chala Sala shop in Amphawa.

Behind the shop is the project center of the Chaipattana Foundation.

After finishing our meal, we set out to find a boat to take us to the temple.

Along the way, we heard announcements from various piers inviting us to visit their temples.

It was purely a matter of luck and intuition.

We felt drawn to the พรประภา pier.

Temple Tour for 50 Baht per Person

This sentence advertises a temple tour for 50 Baht per person. The tour likely involves visiting five different temples.

The number of people waiting for the boat was small, around 10 or so.

After waiting for a while, other passengers arrived to join the group.

Our first stop is Wat Thong Khung.

This temple houses a large Buddha statue, Luang Pho To, but it was closed for renovation during my visit.

Temples in this area offer convenient money exchange services. If you need smaller denominations, you can exchange money at the temple.

-

The second temple is Wat Bangkae Yai.

This temple is unique in that it offers daily birthday merit-making ceremonies. Those who wish to make offerings or seek blessings can do so in the main hall.

- Three Temples of Bang Khae Klang

You can pay respects to Luang Pho Ket at

-

The fourth temple, Wat Kesomsanaram (Wat Bang Chak)

This temple has beautiful murals in the chapel.

-

And the fifth temple, the highlight

Wat Bang Kung

As I walked down, I saw baby goats and baby camels. This temple seems like a tourist attraction.

Walk a little further and you will find a grove of trees.

Inside, you can pay respects and apply gold leaf to Luang Pho Bot Noi, and make wishes.

After visiting the 5 temples, return to Amphawa Floating Market around 4 pm.

Looking for something to eat, of course, when you come to Amphawa, you have to eat grilled seafood.

We came across the Phornsawan Restaurant.

The taste is good, but the price is for tourists, a bit expensive.

After eating savory food, you have to eat something sweet.

I walked past a homemade ice cream shop that looked delicious and had many flavors.

There are Thai flavors and also common flavors. We ordered plum and Foi Thong, which were very delicious.

After a satisfying meal, people will be out in droves to buy souvenirs. By nightfall, the crowds will surely be immense.

That's all for our quick weekend trip for those with limited time.

However, if you have more time, there are many homestays to choose from with beautiful atmospheres. You should find time to stay overnight and enjoy the ambiance of Amphawa at night.

If you're tired of malls or don't want to stay home alone, come visit Amphawa! ^^
