Welcome back to Yoko Go Around! With winter approaching, a trip to Chiang Mai is a must. Today, I'm taking you on a journey to explore the natural beauty, breathe in the fresh air, and witness the breathtaking sea of mist at dawn in Mae Wang District, Chiang Mai.

Our destination for this trip is to witness the sea of mist at Baan Lan Dao Resort, located in Mae Wang District. However, before reaching our destination, we will make a stop at Wat Umong to pay respects to the Buddha for good fortune.

The translation of "วัดอุโมงค์ สวนพุทธธรรม" is:

Wat Umong Suan Phuttharam

This is the name of a Buddhist temple and park located in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

This temple dates back to the Lanna era, featuring a tunnel built by the ancient Lanna people. The tunnel was once adorned with murals, but these have faded and are now almost completely gone.

A Buddha statue enshrined within the tunnel

A little mouse came to be a model.

The Tunnel Temple houses intricate sculptures and architecture that embody profound Buddhist teachings.

Ascending the stairs leads to the Wat Umong Chedi, an ancient stupa dating back to the Lanna era.

The temple houses a statue of Luang Pho Panyananda Bhikkhu, who was invited from Wat Suan Mokkh to reside and propagate Buddhism at Wat Umong.

After that, we continued our journey and stopped by another place as usual. Before reaching Mae Wang District, we passed by the Grand Canyon of Chiang Mai. Let's take a look and see what the Grand Canyon of Chiang Mai is like.

Grand Canyon Chiang Mai

According to the caretaker, the Grand Canyon was not formed naturally. It was originally a site where laterite soil was excavated and sold. The excavation continued until groundwater was discovered. Later, after the excavation ceased, it was developed into a water park and the tourist attraction we see today. The Grand Canyon Chiang Mai has two sides: one with a full range of amusement rides and the other where Jade brought us. This side charges an entrance fee of 100 baht per person. It is mainly visited by foreigners who come to sunbathe and swim. If you want to play, you must wear a life jacket because the water is about 30-40 meters deep.

After leaving the Grand Canyon, we headed towards Baan Lanดาว to avoid getting caught in the dark.

The following is a translation of the provided text from Thai to English, adhering to the specified guidelines:

"Along the way to Mae Wang, the scenery is incredibly beautiful. With views like this, I'm sure anyone would stop to take photos."

The following is a translation of the Thai sentence "มาดูเจ้าควายเผือกใกล้ ๆ กัน" into English:

"Let's take a closer look at the white buffalo."

After enjoying the natural scenery along the way, we headed towards our destination.

We have arrived at Baan Lanดาว Resort, approximately 30 kilometers from the Grand Canyon. The road leading up to the resort is quite steep, but small sedans like the City or Vios can still manage it. It is recommended to arrive before nightfall.

Let's take a look at the surroundings of the resort.

The high vantage point offered a breathtaking view of the mountains.

The dining area offers an exceptionally pleasant ambiance.

Our room for tonight.

Inside the house, very chill.

The bathroom is also outdoors, open-air style.

Although the resort is called "Million Stars House," our goal for this trip is to see the sea of mist and sunrise. Therefore, let's get some rest first.

The next day, we woke up at 6 am to watch the sea of mist and wait for the sunrise.

The crowd has gathered to witness the sea of mist.

The fog is very thick.

The sun is about to rise.

The sunrise here is breathtakingly beautiful.

After watching the sunrise, we continued to enjoy breakfast, soaking in the beautiful atmosphere.

After witnessing the breathtaking sunrise and the mesmerizing sea of mist, consider stopping by the Karen Pga K'nyaw village on your way down the mountain to witness their traditional weaving techniques. Don't forget to support the Karen community by purchasing their exquisite handwoven textiles.

In addition to the Karen Pga K'nyaw village, there is also an elephant camp. If you want to ride an elephant through the forest, you can stop by for a visit. It costs 800 baht per elephant, which can accommodate two people.

The trip ended with an impression of the beautiful nature in Mae Wang District. For the next trip, I will take you to visit somewhere else. Please stay tuned.
