Khao Ong is located within the Khao Ong Signal Repeater Station area of the Telephone Organization of Thailand, in Hat Yai Subdistrict, Lang Suan District, Chumphon Province. It stands at an elevation of approximately 299 meters above sea level.

The most captivating season in this region is arguably the Thai winter, spanning November, December, and January. During this period, temperatures drop, bringing a welcome chill to the air. The mountains are often shrouded in mist, creating a picturesque landscape that is a delight to behold.

Enjoy a cup of coffee while chatting and joking with friends, breathing in the fresh air, and taking cool photos.

The crisp mountain air invigorates the trees and blades of grass, filling them with a sense of renewal.

The mist can be admired from early morning until around nine o'clock in the morning. Khao Ang also offers stunning views of both sunrise and sunset.

The sun's rays begin to appear, and the mist gradually dissipates.

Journey to Khao Ong

From Asian Highway 41, take Route 4006 towards Phato district. After approximately 10 kilometers, you will find a left-hand turn marked "Ban Nai Krim School" opposite a green gas station. Drive for about 800 meters and turn left at the sign for Khao Ong. Continue until you reach a barrier.

Important note: Only motorcycles are allowed beyond this point. Cars must be parked and the remaining 1.5 kilometers hiked. The road to the summit is paved, making it a pleasant walk.

Tip: Bring water as there are no shops at the top.
