LHONG 1919: Timeless Beauty

LHONG 1919 embodies the charm of classic architecture, its beauty enhanced by the passage of time. The space retains its original character, requiring minimal embellishment to showcase its inherent elegance.

As we walk along the wall, passing through "Wang Li Road," it is as if we are stepping back in time 168 years to the era of King Rama IV.

Imagine the bustling "Huay Chuey Long" steamship port,

a hub of international trade in the early Rattanakosin era.

Picture steamships laden with goods,

Chinese immigrants arriving with nothing but the clothes on their backs,

and Siamese locals in traditional attire.

“ Antiquity ”

Preserved with great value

With the scent of history

And countless stories

Told through… every corner of the building
Every alley, every wall of the building

Things to Know Before Visiting Lhong 1919

1. History of Lhong 1919

Lhong 1919 was originally a steamship pier called "Huat Juay Long" on the Chao Phraya River. Built in 1850 during the reign of King Rama IV, it served as a trading hub for overseas Chinese and a starting point for many Chinese immigrants who came to Siam with nothing but a mat and a pillow. In 1919, the property was acquired by the Wanglee family and transformed into a commercial building, warehouse, and staff quarters.
