Hello, today I have a travel story to share with you about my unplanned trip to Ranong. This trip took place in September 2017 (I've been holding onto this review for a while…hehe). For this trip, I traveled with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Chumphon - Ranong. We departed from Don Mueang Airport and flew to Surat Thani Airport.

After landing at Surat Thani Airport, we took a van to Ranong Province, which took 3-4 hours. We then set out to explore Ranong.

The Mausoleum of the Lord of Ranong

Our journey begins at the "Mausoleum of the Lord of Ranong," the final resting place of Phraya Damrong Sucharit Mahisorn Phakdi (Khaw Soo Chiang), a former Lord of Ranong. The mausoleum stands on land granted by King Rama V.

Continuing on to "Baan Thian Sue", "Thian" in Chinese translates to "creation" and "Sue" translates to "gift". Combined, it translates to "House of Heavenly Gifts". This place is considered a living museum, telling the stories of the past of the Chinese people in Ranong.

Tian Shi was the nephew and right-hand man of Phraya Ratchadanupradit.

"Kruajerun @ Ranong" - A haven of deliciousness in Ranong

The dishes we chose today are mostly Chinese cuisine.

After a savory meal, we stopped for some dessert at My Bake.

After a delicious meal, we continued our journey to the "Cockatoo Brand Soy Sauce Factory".

"Ngao Keaw Brand Soy Sauce" is considered a specialty of Ranong.

After a full day of sightseeing, we stopped to drop off our belongings and check in to our accommodation for the night.

"The Ele Hotel Ranong" is a newly opened hotel with spacious rooms. Even with two people, you might feel lonely.

Affordable, good service, with breakfast included. Reservations can be made at 077-828564 or 086-9469456.

After resting, we went out to have dinner at "Chan Sam Beach Resort".

The atmosphere at Haad Chao Mai before sunset was excellent, deserving a perfect score of 10. However, it is a pity that the sky was a bit cloudy today.

The dining area offers stunning views.

Our food tonight looks like this.

This morning, the sky is overcast and there is a slight drizzle. What can you do? After all, Ranong is known as the "City of Eight Rains and Four Suns". 555.

The local breakfast here is delicious. This dish, sai, I had three helpings... haha.

After a hearty breakfast, we took a walk to digest at the "Suwann Khiri Temple, also known as Wat Na Muang."

A Burmese-style pagoda with a century-old history. The dome-shaped structure stands on an octagonal base, approximately 80 centimeters above ground level. Its height from base to the top of the umbrella-shaped finial is about 13 meters. A one-meter-high wall surrounds the pagoda on all four sides, with each side featuring a two-meter-wide entrance gate. Both the pagoda and the wall are plastered and painted white. The finial is made of brass and adorned with diamonds, reflecting Burmese artistic traditions. The pagoda was constructed by Nang Puasai Khai, a devout Buddhist, who funded its construction with her own resources. It has been officially registered by the Fine Arts Department.

And now, let's continue to the "Ban Pha Rang Hot Spring". This morning, we came here without taking a bath, thinking that we would take a bath here… 555.

The spa offers a natural fish pedicure experience.

Next, we visited the "Ratcha Rangsarn Palace (Replica)" located at the foot of Ratcha Rangsarn Hill (near Ranong Provincial Hall). This palace was built to commemorate the visits of three kings to Ranong: King Chulalongkorn (Rama V), King Vajiravudh (Rama VI), and King Prajadhipok (Rama VII).

"The Talad Chao Mae Laem Hin, also known as the Burmese Market, offers a glimpse into the lives of the people of Ranong. It is the largest market in Ranong, with vendors from both Thailand and Myanmar."

Fresh seafood at affordable prices.

Beautiful flowers are also available for sale.

Before returning to Bangkok, we stopped for a meal at "Ruen Khun Lin," a renowned restaurant in Ranong province.

This restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes. In addition, guests can make scarecrows, take photos, and enjoy staff dance performances.

For those who can't decide what to eat, this place also offers a Siam Sea menu.

We had a hearty meal today. The owner was incredibly kind. We would like to express our gratitude here. We will definitely visit again when we have the chance.

After enjoying a savory meal, we stopped by "Wachari Shop." This establishment is not only a charming café with lush greenery but also a renowned souvenir shop in Ranong.

After a satisfying meal, we boarded a van and headed towards Surat Thani Airport to catch our flight back to Bangkok.

Finally, I would like to express my gratitude to the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) in Chumphon and Ranong, as well as everyone who contributed to this trip.
