Chiang Mai 9 days, I went to do... (fill in the blank)... What?
I went so often that many people misunderstood that Ping is from Chiang Mai.
Ping lives in Chiang Mai sometimes, Ping only reviews this province.
Sigh... Ping is just a Bangkokian who fell in love with many things.
In Chiang Mai and want to share the good things that Ping has encountered with everyone.
To read, in case you want to come and experience Chiang Mai for yourself :")
This time, I went for 9 days, both outside the city and in the city. Ping has
New accommodation and cafes/coffee shops to recommend to friends.
Where will we go? Let's see!
P.S. Places that overlap with EP. or previous trips, I beg your pardon for not writing.

But there are a lot of cafes, and it's hard to know which ones are good or not without trying them first. So I tried them out and I'm only going to tell you about the good ones so you can go check them out! Let's go!

2. A Day in Chiangmai Coffee Brew

This cafe is fantastic, so much so that I feel guilty for only discovering it now. The space is divided into two zones. The first zone has limited seating, with chairs against the wall, a bar, and the barista's workspace. I love that the walls are adorned with beautiful photographs of Chiang Mai, while still retaining a Japanese feel with magazines, books, and minimalist decorations. The other zone is a popular spot for photos, as it's bright and airy with tables for chatting with friends.

The menu is concise, focusing on black coffee and coffee with milk, all of which are delicious and smooth. I guarantee coffee lovers will be satisfied.

Location: Rachadamnoen Road, opposite Yakult Company Hours: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM, closed Sundays Phone: 053-277-777 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/adayinchiangmaicoffee/

OON POSHTEL & CAFE

This cozy cafe is located within the trendy Poshtel on Chaiyaphum Road. The cafe itself is not very large, with approximately 5-6 tables inside and a similar number outside. The outdoor seating benefits from the shade provided by small trees planted around the perimeter. The cafe's decor echoes the style of the guest rooms, emphasizing simplicity with white, cream, and wooden furniture, creating a warm atmosphere. Soft pink accents add a touch of color and charm. The menu offers a variety of options, including coffee, milk-based drinks, sodas, and smoothies. We highly recommend the mixed berry and yogurt smoothie, made with 100% real fruit for a refreshingly delicious experience.

Open-air cafe perfect for the pleasant weather at the beginning of the year.

This recently opened cafe has already attracted a considerable crowd. The single-story building offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor area features exposed concrete walls adorned with greenery, creating a refreshing atmosphere. The interior boasts a colonial style with simple yet patterned designs, dominated by blue, gray, and white hues. While Ping believes this cafe is ideal for casual hangouts, conversations, and enjoying coffee and snacks, it might not be suitable for extended work sessions. Nevertheless, it's worth a visit!

6. FOREST BAKE

A beautifully decorated cafe and bakery with a wooden cabin in the center and outdoor seating. The atmosphere feels like being in a forest, with a vintage touch from the decorations, flowers, and ornamental plants. I think girls would fall in love with this place and could stay all day! They have a menu of drinks and food, but mainly homemade bread, cakes, and pastries from family recipes. I don't know how good the other things are, but I tried the lemon tart and it wasn't great. It had too much cinnamon, which overpowered the lemon and cream on top. However, I liked the cafe itself, it's really beautiful. I'll try other menu items next time! :3

Garincha: A Modern Thai Tea and Dessert Shop

Garincha, a cutting-edge Thai tea and dessert shop, brings a contemporary twist to traditional Thai flavors, catering to the younger generation. The shop offers three vibrant tea flavors in both cup and bottle options, alongside soft-serve ice cream in fresh milk and taro flavors. Customers can personalize their treats with colorful Thai dessert toppings such as bualoy (tapioca pearls), foi thong (golden threads), and blue pea flower sticky rice.

During our visit, the desserts were unfortunately sold out, leaving only the tea options available. We plan to return for a full experience in the future. It's worth noting that the shop has limited seating, so takeaway is recommended.

— Update information on visiting Doi Inthanon, Kew Mae Pan —

To accommodate my international friend's desire to witness the sunrise, I embarked on a journey to Doi Inthanon National Park, including the Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail. Having not visited for two years, I noticed some changes and decided to provide an update for fellow travelers. The first notable change concerns transportation to Doi Inthanon without a private vehicle. Previously, the first blue public bus departed from the Chiang Mai Gate at 4:00 AM. However, the current departure time is 5:00 AM, making it impossible to reach the summit in time for sunrise. The bus fare remains at 34 baht per person, and it terminates at Wat Phra That Chom Thong. From there, yellow shared taxis are available for hire to ascend the mountain. The fare varies depending on the destination, with a one-way trip to Kew Mae Pan costing 1,500 baht. This price becomes more reasonable when shared among multiple passengers. The entrance fee to Doi Inthanon National Park is 50 baht for Thai citizens and 300 baht for foreign visitors.

Upon reaching the sunrise viewpoint, we took photos and enjoyed a hearty breakfast to fuel up for the upcoming hike. The trail, approximately 3 kilometers long, features some inclines and descents, taking 2-3 hours depending on our fitness level. Guide services on the trail cost 200 baht per group, and hiking without a guide is strictly prohibited.

The day I went pinging, the sky was overcast, unlike the last time when it was clear. The previous time, the sky was bright and the golden fields were perfect for taking pictures. This time, it was gloomy and windy. But I still want to go again. Here are some pictures I took:

After the walk, the yellow car uncle dropped us off at the front of Wat
Phra That Chom Thong. From there, we can wait for the blue public bus
to the city for 34 baht, the same price as the way here. Alternatively, we can take
a shared taxi for 35 baht (a difference of only one baht).

My 9-day Chiang Mai trip is over. I hope this review will inspire you to visit Chiang Mai too. Haha, I'm currently writing a travel book about Chiang Mai. It's a chill travel guide in my style, including cafes, delicious restaurants, and cute accommodations. I'll let you know when it's finished. Please follow my page Bliss Out There for updates.
