Escape to the Islands: Disconnecting from the Digital World and Immersing in Nature at Surin Islands National Park

Surin Islands National Park, located approximately 60 kilometers off the coast of Phang Nga province, offers a unique opportunity to disconnect from the digital world and immerse oneself in the beauty of nature. Renowned for its stunning scenery and abundant marine life, the park is open to visitors from mid-October to May each year. During the remaining months, the islands are closed to allow for natural regeneration.

This presents a perfect chance to embark on an adventure and witness firsthand the captivating beauty of Surin Islands National Park. Let's explore the wonders that await us on this digital detox journey.

**Travel** There are several ways to travel to the Surin Islands. This time, we chose to travel by bus because we found it to be the most convenient option. Our destination was Kura Buri, Phang Nga Province. You can book bus tickets with Lignite Tour or Transport 99. The price is around 500-600 baht. The departure times are Bangkok to Kura Buri 19:05 - 05:30 and Kura Buri to Bangkok 18:15-05:30. **Boat** We booked round-trip boat tickets from the Thai Tourism Festival with Sabina Tour. We got a promotional price of 1,500 baht for a round trip. The company provides transportation from the bus station or airport to the pier. Sabina Tour also offers guided tours and tent rentals. If you are interested, you can contact Ms. Narumon at 0817375801 or Facebook: Sabinatour Kohsurin Thailand.

For our accommodation, we opted for a camping experience on the Surin Islands. We booked a tent and bedding through the National Park for approximately 300 baht per night. Bookings can be made at http://nps.dnp.go.th. The park offers two designated camping areas: Ao Chong Khad and Mai Ngam Beach. Ao Chong Khad is the park headquarters, with a serene and scenic camping area located behind the main building. Mai Ngam Beach requires a short long-tail boat ride followed by a 200-meter walk to reach the campsite. The beach boasts pristine white sand and ample space. We chose to camp at Mai Ngam Beach due to its stunning beauty.

Food

  • Food is available on the island and is served at designated times: morning, noon, and evening.
  • Options include à la carte dishes and set menus.
  • À la carte dishes start at 80 baht, while set menus start at 250 baht per person (prices may vary depending on the time of day).
  • Drinks and snacks are also available.
  • However, prices are generally higher on the island, so it's recommended to bring your own snacks and drinks to save money.

Electricity

  • As a national park, electricity is limited.
  • Power is available from 6:00 PM to 8:00 AM.
  • Charging stations are conveniently located for charging devices.
  • During peak season, it may be necessary to share charging stations with other visitors.

. . Mobile phone signal • Inside the Surin Islands National Park, there is only one mobile phone network signal, which is AIS. The rest are completely silent, not even a single bar. • But luckily, social media humans can still surf the internet. • Because there is a Wi-Fi signal available at the tourist service point, but !!! The signal is very weak. Which means that sometimes not having a mobile phone signal is a good thing, because it gives us time to be with ourselves, with nature, and with the people around us to the fullest. . .

As passionate travelers, we, the full-time employees, can work comfortably from anywhere…

Scuba diving • Scuba diving is the first thing that comes to mind when talking about Surin Islands. • You can go diving with the park or with a tour. • Each day there is a schedule of which points will be visited in the morning and afternoon, depending on the weather conditions. • The price for diving is 150 baht per round. "Every trip has stories and memories. This Surin Islands camping trip was full of good memories that we want to share with you."

In addition to the beautiful underwater world, the atmosphere on Surin Island is equally stunning. No matter where you walk, the scenery is breathtaking.

Trust us, nature is always beautiful… Because I just went to
