Hello again!
Following our previous adventure at the duck and chicken restaurant (https://th.readme.me/p/15161), we ended with a teaser about "carrying the tent." Today, we'll finally reveal where our tent-carrying journey will take us!
Our journey from Ko Ratanakosin to Phato began with a phone call to a friend who agreed to drop us off at a location where we could hitchhike to our final destination. We successfully reached Phato around 6 pm.
The Origin of the Mae Nam Lang Suan River: Phato District, Chumphon Province
Phato District, nestled in the verdant mountains of Chumphon Province, serves as the origin of the Mae Nam Lang Suan River. This land of natural abundance boasts a diverse landscape, from cascading waterfalls shrouded in mist to lush forests teeming with life. Visitors can embark on a captivating journey by raft, immersing themselves in the breathtaking scenery of the river and its surrounding banks. The fresh air, pristine waters, and majestic mountains envelop visitors in an unforgettable experience.
Upon arrival, there was no need for introductions as the event had already begun. This set included a spoon, bowl, and bottled water for 30 baht. For food, simply present your bowl at the designated booths, and the staff will serve you directly.
The 45 minutes flew by in a whirlwind of fun and delicious food from the various stalls. If you're planning to visit, be prepared to hone your agility and speed-eating skills. The crowds are massive, and the food selection is equally vast. We couldn't keep up with the pace, but it was a blast nonetheless.
We stayed here until evening and then went to the camping site. There are two camping sites here: one in front of the district office and one by the river. Today we walked down to the river to set up our tents. Let's go, it's getting late and the field will be full soon.
Don't worry, we're just here to say goodnight to everyone.
The campsite wasn't just for us in the early morning. Don't worry just yet.
This is the kayak team, who have set up their tents next to us.
And this is the view from our tent last night.
We then packed up the tent to set off on our journey...
Let's refuel in the morning. This is a long-established shop that is very popular. Even if you arrive at 7:30, the congee is sold out. ==
Little Red Riding Hood waits for a ride.
Ah, I'm on the bus now.
Oops! Wrong car. 555
Let's go, we're going to this one.
And here we are, at the starting point of our rafting adventure.
First, let's choose a life jacket for safety.
Let's go! We're ready.
Before we begin, we must secure our shoes properly to prevent them from falling and floating away in the water.
This is the identification card for those who will be rafting.
Okay, let's go!
Oops, haha! The raft is drifting close to nature.
After sailing for a while, the older guys said they were going to stop by Lotus. Huh? What's a Lotus doing in the forest?
Oh, this is a rest stop. There are many delicious foods here, my favorite is fried chicken. ><
We continued to raft down the river and met an elderly man. He told us not to take pictures, as it would make it difficult to steer the raft. We laughed.
We started our raft journey early in the morning and are now approaching our destination. Upon reaching the shore, we were warmly welcomed.
The menu at this stall includes steamed eggs in bamboo tubes, stir-fried chicken with herbs and spices. After tasting the food here, we went up to the assembly hall for lunch. The food here is excellent, and there is no shortage of it.
This is the atmosphere of the table that the team has prepared for the party. The stir-fried cha-om leaves with eggs and the banana blossom curry are incredibly delicious.
The free raft dining event at Phato is held only for two days, usually in February of each year. This event offers free food, a budget-friendly experience, and friendly people. However, if you just want to go rafting, you can do so any day.
