This summer, many people want to go to the sea, right? As a sea lover, we didn't miss it either. This trip, the Burmese sea is our destination. The island we visited on this trip is Nyaung Oo Phee Island. Many people may wonder how to get there and if it's difficult. In fact, it's not difficult at all. You don't need a visa or a passport. You only need an ID card to travel to the Burmese island. You have to travel to take the boat at Ranong Province. There are two ways to travel to Nyaung Oo Phee Island: One day trip, which means going in the morning and returning in the evening, and Overnight, which means staying overnight on the island. For this trip, we chose to stay overnight on the island in a new villa zone that was recently completed. Follow us to see how beautiful and worth visiting Nyaung Oo Phee Island is.
Traveling to Koh Naw Opi or other islands in the Burmese Sea is a hassle-free experience. All you need is your national ID card, and the tour operator will take care of the rest of the paperwork. **Getting there:** From Bangkok, you need to take a boat from the Grand Andaman Pier in Ranong Province. Two airlines offer flights to Ranong: NokAir and Air Asia. For this trip, we chose NokAir because they had an early morning flight that departed from Don Mueang Airport around 5:00 AM and arrived in Ranong at 7:00 AM. The van we booked through Mamy Booking picked us up and took us to the pier just in time. If you prefer not to fly, several bus companies offer transportation to Ranong, including Chok Anan, Nimit Tour, and Sombat Tour. A friend who has used Sombat Tour told me they have VIP buses with reclining seats, blankets, and a price of around 627 baht.
This trip was booked through an agent called Mamy Booking, which offers tours to the Burmese islands, as well as Thai seas and car rentals. Their service is excellent, fast, and easy to book. This is the second time we have used their services, and we will explain how to book at the end. Let's take a look at the program.
The program will begin in the morning, around 8:30 AM. Everyone must meet at the Grand Andaman Pier, which is located on the Thai side. Please contact the staff of Victoria Cliff, who will be located near the immigration checkpoint.
After receiving the documents from the Victoria Cliff staff, you can submit them to the immigration office. It's a straightforward process, requiring only your national ID card and the documents provided by the tour operator. However, if you go during the weekend, you might have to wait in line a bit longer due to the increased number of people.
While waiting for the boat to depart, we enjoyed breakfast at a cafe near the pier. The breakfast provided by the tour included burgers, pastries, and drinks.

Once you are ready, board the boat. Life jackets will be provided on board, and the guide recommends that everyone wear them for safety reasons. Officials at Kawthaung (Victoria Point) in Myanmar will also be checking for compliance.

To reach Naw O Phi Island, we must first stop at Koh Song to pick up our Burmese guide and have our passports stamped for entry into Myanmar. However, we will not need to disembark from the boat; the guide will handle the formalities for us. This process will not take long.
The journey from Ko Song takes approximately 50 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the waves and wind conditions on the day. During the trip, dolphins were spotted swimming near the boat, but clear pictures could not be captured as the boat did not stop for photography due to the proximity to an island within the Burmese military zone.
We arrived at Koh Nawa Opi in no time. The sun wasn't too strong today, but the water was crystal clear.

The guide informed us that the tide was high, so we would be diving in the afternoon. We had lunch beforehand, which consisted of delicious Thai dishes such as stir-fried minced pork with basil, mixed salad, and fried fish. The meal concluded with banana in coconut milk, which we enjoyed for its balanced sweetness.

After a satisfying lunch, those staying overnight on the island were escorted to their accommodations by staff. The island's lodging, Victoria Cliff Resort, offers a variety of options. The zone where we stayed was a newly built villa zone, which required golf cart transportation due to its distance from the dining area.

Let's take a look at the room we stayed in during this trip. The zone was newly built less than a month ago. The room we stayed in was Villa Room 301. We think this room has the best sea view because there are not as many trees in front of it as the other rooms, so we can see the beach more clearly.

The spacious bathroom features a clear separation between the wet and dry areas. All necessary bathing amenities are provided.
After packing up, we took a stroll and snapped some photos of the island's scenery. Besides the stunning beaches and crystal-clear waters, the island offers a variety of activities, including kayaking, paddleboarding, and swimming with inflatable rings. They even provide these amenities for your convenience.
In addition to the villa-style rooms we stayed in, the resort also offers air-conditioned rooms arranged in a row-house style.
Additionally, there is a tent accommodation zone located on the left side of the restaurant. The tent zone is quite shady due to the abundance of trees. The tents are spacious and each has its own bathroom.
Before going diving in the afternoon, there was still some time to capture the atmosphere of the beach and some high-angle shots.
This dive site is called Koh The Letter (เล็ทเทอร์), a small island located in front of Koh Nawa Opi. Here, divers can observe soft corals, gorgonians, and sea anemones.
The second diving spot, Ao Pak Kad, is renowned for its abundance of lettuce coral.
This type of coral forms clusters that resemble heads of lettuce, hence its name.
We stopped by Madame Beach, also known as Lady Beach. The sand here is finer and whiter than the beach where we are staying. At this point, they let us swim or snorkel. However, we found that the underwater scenery at Madame Beach is not as impressive. It's more suitable for relaxing, taking photos on the beach, and enjoying the served fruits.
The squid at Madame Beach
This location, known as "Flower Bay," features a vast field of sea anemones. The highlight is visiting during periods without direct sunlight, as the anemones retract into spherical purple shapes, creating a stunning visual spectacle.
After returning from diving in the late afternoon, we showered and changed clothes. The dining room had already prepared a delicious dinner for us. The dinner was a buffet with grilled seafood.
During dinner, there will be a performance of traditional Burmese dances. The performance will feature a variety of different dances, which will be rotated throughout the evening. It is a very enjoyable experience.
The grand finale was a mesmerizing fire baton show that left a lasting impression on the audience.
Breakfast at this location consists of rice porridge and American breakfast options, similar to those offered at hotels or resorts in Thailand.
After breakfast, we relaxed on the beach, waiting for our morning diving session, scheduled by the guide for around 9 am.
The morning dive site is located near the beach of our accommodation. This site is called "Home Thongsuk," where a giant moray eel named Thongsuk resides. In addition to Thongsuk, there are also adorable families of clownfish. Nearby, you can find lobsters and lionfish, making this underwater world teeming with marine life. The abundance of marine life makes for an enjoyable diving experience.
The morning dive concludes at Sea Fan, where you can find beautiful red soft corals.
Let's take a look at the atmosphere in the form of a clip.
After finishing diving, everyone went their separate ways to shower and pack their belongings in preparation for the return trip. Before leaving, they had lunch on the island and took photos at the swing and surrounding areas. The boat departed from the island around 2 pm.
On the way back, we had to stop at Koh Song to get our entry stamps, just like on the way there. While we were waiting, our guide took us for a walk around Koh Song. There was a market on the island that was similar to those in Thailand, and we bought some souvenirs. We also took some photos of the local scenery. It's worth noting that Thai baht is accepted as currency here.
Upon arriving at the Ranong pier around 4 pm, a van will be waiting to take us to our accommodation, which we booked through Mamy Booking. The hotel, Tinidee, is located in downtown Ranong and offers a hot spring for guests to relax and unwind after a day of diving.
