When it comes to "Chiang Mai," there are many tourist attractions that come to mind. However, today, I can't help but recommend a new tourist attraction that is popular with both Thai and foreign tourists, especially Japanese and Chinese tourists: Baan Kang Wat.

Nestled just outside the bustling city of Chiang Mai, Baan Kang Wat offers a unique blend of rural charm and modern hipster vibes. This vibrant community boasts a diverse array of offerings, including restaurants, cafes, art galleries, hair salons, ceramic studios, postcard shops, vegetable gardens, bookstores, and souvenir shops.

At first glance, it may appear as a tourist attraction solely designed to draw visitors. However, beneath the surface lies a deeper reality. The project seamlessly integrates the lifestyle of the local community in Wat Umong, fostering a sense of interdependence and mutual support. Immersed in the embrace of nature, the atmosphere exudes genuine tranquility.

The "Baan Khang Wat" project features two-story houses constructed with a blend of wood and concrete, reminiscent of traditional Thai architecture. Adorned with antique furnishings, they evoke a sense of classic charm, akin to a contemporary art installation. Lush greenery adorns the surroundings, creating a verdant oasis that soothes the eyes. Imagine sipping coffee, reading a book, and immersing yourself in the natural beauty – a true paradise on earth.

The temple grounds boast a variety of artistic installations, including landscaped gardens and intricate woodwork. A communal space is available for hosting musical performances and festive events. Every Sunday morning, the temple hosts a "Morning Market" where local residents sell a variety of goods, including regional cuisine, organic vegetables, traditional clothing, and home decor items. If you're looking for a relaxing and natural escape, the temple grounds are the perfect place to visit.

The facility provides parking for both cars and motorcycles.
