"If we are weary, let us walk into the forest."

No… I can't walk. I don't want to go into the forest. Mosquitoes will bite me. I'm tired. My face is sticky. There's no internet.

We yearn for a verdant escape, shrouded in ethereal mist, where we can find solace and respite from the relentless hustle and bustle of daily life. (Not that your life is particularly chaotic, you're just a tad averse to work.)

Wow, you have a lot of recommendations!?

No!! You're so picky!! (crash) But it's not like there's nothing… Where are you? Tell me!

How about... let's go hug each other...

DAY 1

  • Take a tram tour of Nan city
  • Tanong Homestay

This is the first section of the article (while reading this review, please play this song softly). After about 1 hour and 15 minutes, the plane landed at Nan Nakhon Airport. As we can see from the recommended topics for visiting Nan, there are approximately...

Mountain, we, Nan

Go to Nan for a long time.

Slowly, slowly, long, long, in Nan

Lost in Nan for a long time

From the topics that have been set, Nan seems to be a very slow-paced city. People walk very slowly, like a sloth. Why isn't there a "Nan that is crazy, wild, and electrifying"? (When I finished speaking, my friend turned to me and asked, "What do you want from society?")

Let's go and see for ourselves. Why does Nan have to be slow? Get off the plane, get your luggage, and follow me! (For those who are taking the bus, tell the driver to speed up!)

Our first destination is... (sound of the Iron Chef Thailand host's pan)

"Ride the tram to explore the old town of Nan."

The tram we rode had 24 seats (how do you know? Did you count them? You're so meticulous...just open Google. Who would count them?). It was an antique tram that took us on a tour of Nan, a living old city. A narrator provided information about important landmarks, including temples, old hotels, and houses, all of which had a history in the northern dialect (very flavorful, but sometimes I wanted to ask for subtitles in the central language. Just kidding).

Let's check the tram schedule first. It's not like you can just hop on whenever you want, you know? (Listen to the end)

The tram will operate on Mondays-Fridays, with two rounds at 9:30 AM and 3:30 PM.

On Saturdays and Sundays, there are four showtimes: 9:30 AM, 10:30 AM, 1:30 PM, and 3:30 PM.

Ticket prices: Adults 30 baht, children and seniors 15 baht (Pepsi caps cannot be used for discounts, please note).

And of course, the highlight!!!! that everyone from all over the world wants to see is...

"Whispers of Love at Wat Phumin: The Murals of Pu Maan and Ya Maan"

One of the murals, painted between 1867 and 1874, is widely regarded as a masterpiece in terms of both composition and emotion. It was created by an anonymous artist believed to be Nan Buan, a Tai Lue artist. (Source: Wikipedia)

The man whispered this message to the woman...

"My love for you, I fear to entrust to the water, lest it be chilled. I fear to entrust it to the open sky, lest the clouds obscure it."

To protect her from the advances of the local ruler, the woman entrusted her love to the man's heart, where it would forever sing of her, whether he slept or woke.

Ugh, this is so cheesy! I'm so over love. Looking at the picture of them whispering sweet nothings, I should be here with my boyfriend, all lovey-dovey. But when I turn around, there I am with my two girlfriends. Should I hold their hands? Ugh, no way! We're girls!

In addition to Wat Phumin, there is another check-in spot nearby that I would like to recommend.

Lilawadee Pavilion, Nan National Museum

A Tunnel of Frangipani Trees: A Photographer's Paradise

This captivating passage describes a tunnel formed by towering frangipani trees, creating a picturesque scene that is particularly alluring for photographers equipped with fixed-focal lenses. The lush foliage and vibrant blooms offer a stunning backdrop for capturing unforgettable moments.

Second destination: "Tanong Homestay, Pua District"

Coming here requires more than just money; you need good fortune. Booking a stay during the weekend is nearly impossible, as it is always fully booked. Let's explore the reasons why this homestay has become such a popular accommodation option in Nan.

Travel

1. Take a taxi or motorbike to Nan Bus Terminal.

2. Take the Nan-Pua bus (there are many buses, ask the station for directions). Ours is a red bus, cool and sweet style, the wind blows cool and comfortable. Tton, Yon, Ta, Tton, Yon.

The ice cream truck looks like this.

The atmosphere inside the tour bus heading to Pua District.

And now, let's invite our friends, brothers, and sisters who have been following our review to enter A. Pua, Phap Kob, and discover our accommodation for tonight. Ta-da! (Sound of excitement)

Nestled amidst lush rice paddies and breathtaking mountain vistas, "Tanong Homestay" in Pua District, Nan Province, offers a tranquil retreat where you can reconnect with nature. The serene atmosphere and mesmerizing morning mist create an unforgettable experience. This carefully selected accommodation is perfect for a relaxing getaway, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the beauty of northern Thailand.

The image is coming.

Our accommodation is the white, two-story building in the picture. Isn't it beautiful?

The rooms are equipped with air conditioning, a TV, and a water heater, providing a comfortable stay amidst nature.

After putting away our belongings, let's take a leisurely stroll, admiring the scenic rice fields while subtly glancing at the men. We can then capture stunning photos and share them on social media, bombarding our followers with a barrage of captivating images.

"Why are you smiling at the grass?" my friend asked. "This is hipsterism, my friend. You wouldn't understand."

After a good night's rest, we woke up to a light mist and were ready to continue our journey.

DAY 2:

  • Phu Kha Viewpoint: Offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
  • Ban Tai Lue Coffee: A charming café serving locally grown coffee and traditional Tai Lue snacks.
  • Ban Hua Nam Mushroom Farm: Discover the fascinating world of mushroom cultivation and enjoy fresh, locally grown mushrooms.
  • Nan Riverside Art Gallery: Immerse yourself in the vibrant art scene of Nan and admire the works of local artists.
  • Wat Phra That Khao Noi: Explore this historic temple perched atop a hill, boasting stunning views and intricate architecture.

This morning, two female gibbons who cannot drive, came with only their bodies and hearts, a backpack, and lonely hearts. They decided to hire a taxi with a driver to take them to various places. We set off early in the morning.

The entire road was covered in thick white fog this morning, making driving quite difficult. In addition, the uphill route had many curves. Of course, I threw up! Ugh!

"Sunrise viewpoint at Doi Phu Kha National Park"

After inhaling the invigorating vapors of the ya-dom and ya-mong, we finally arrived at the scenic viewpoint. The view was breathtaking, as expected. Unfortunately, the heavy fog prevented us from witnessing the sunrise. However, the mesmerizing panorama of mountains interspersed with fluffy clouds was enough to make us forget our motion sickness (we stood there admiring the view with pale faces).

"Tai Lue Coffee House"

Let's grab a coffee to get rid of the car sickness. The Thai Lue coffee shop is decorated in a style that blends the Thai Lue and Lanna communities. The coffee-drinking area is a wooden hut with a thatched roof. The atmosphere by the rice field offers a view of the mountains. You can choose to sit and relax as you like. The drinks are inexpensive and very delicious.

The picture shows us ordering an iced cocoa and a lemon tea (I wanted something a little sour, I still feel nauseous).

A serene atmosphere by the verdant rice fields, accompanied by the cool morning air and a gentle sip of coffee, creating a level 10 of pure bliss.

The Tai Lue coffee shop is part of the Lamduan Woven Fabric Shop, a local fabric shop, souvenir shop, and Tai Lue woven fabric shop. The shop sells antique water-flow woven fabrics, most of which are sold as community products after being woven.

The most popular check-in angle is to stand on the bridge with a fluttering patterned cloth hanging around you. Your friend asks the same question again, and you smile at the cloth. Do you understand the accidental act? Taking pictures to make it look like you're being secretly photographed.

Opening hours of the Tai Lue Coffee Shop: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM. Phone number of the Tai Lue Coffee Shop: 089 264 6058.

"Mushroom Farm at Baan Hua Nam"

Feeling hungry? Let's find something to eat. TV Direct presents Farm Mushroom Ban Huanaam (Ban Pha Ko Nok Koon), a mushroom farm. The signature dish here is, of course, a menu made from fresh mushrooms.

And the grand finale, meticulously crafted by our expert chefs, is none other than... (Cue the Iron Chef music, because it's all about food, haha!)

Mushroom pizza, oh my! It's so delicious, I can't help but sing "Ah-ha-ha-ha-ha!"

Apologies if you're reading this review late at night. Go open your fridge, because this pizza is incredibly delicious! The crust is thin and crispy, not greasy, and you don't even need extra sauce.

Additionally, we highly recommend the iced cocoa, which is incredibly delicious and rich in flavor.

(We're going out, we can have two glasses of sweet drinks, it's okay, we won't get fat, it's not often, just to feel less guilty.)

Delicious! (I choose you, iced cocoa with less sugar)

There are other dishes available at reasonable prices. The view is beautiful, the restaurant is comfortable, and the weather is very cool. You must come and try it!

The menu in the picture includes:

  • Som Tum Hed Tod Krob (Spicy papaya salad with crispy fried mushrooms, this one contains fish sauce, which we don't particularly enjoy)
  • Khao Pad (Fried rice)
  • Sup Hed Kap Khana Plang (Mushroom soup with bread, this one is good, we like it)

Full of energy now, let's continue! Don't get tired yet, follow me!

"Nan Riverside Art Gallery"

A large private art gallery spanning over 13 rai, situated along the Nan River approximately 20 kilometers from downtown Nan. It serves as a hub for art, paintings, photographs, posters, sculptures, woven fabrics, and other mediums that reflect the culture of Nan province. Founded and operated by renowned Nan artist Winai Praburiphoo, the gallery is a testament to his passion for the arts.

Let's take a look around and see what this art gallery has to offer.

Okay, our taxi will now drive into the city center to drop off the two runaway gibbons at the airport. Our last stop for sightseeing is…

"Wat Phra That Khao Noi"

This temple is a must-visit for its unique photo opportunity. The Phra Phuttha Maha Udom Mongkhon Nanaburi Si Nan statue faces the scenic view of Nan city, offering a 360-degree panorama. It is also a popular spot for watching the sunset. Although we arrived late in the afternoon, the beauty of the view was still breathtaking.

** **

Our short 2-day, 1-night vacation has come to an end. While Nan may be considered a slow-paced city where everything seems to move at a slower pace, it offers a unique blend of old and new cultures. The city's charm lies in its beautiful natural surroundings and delicious cuisine. However, there are also some exciting aspects to discover. We encourage you to explore Nan and see for yourself what it has to offer.

Perhaps in the next post, we could introduce the coolest places in Nan, like going on an adventure in Nan city. Something like that would be better.

Thank you for reading. Let's travel together again.
