Our original destination for this trip was Prachinburi-Nakhon Nayok. However, we stopped for a meal in Chachoengsao, which is the subject of this review.
For this trip, we chose a route that would take us to Prachinburi via Min Buri and Chachoengsao. The first restaurant we stopped at for a main meal was "Bia Sim," which is a very interesting stopover point. The restaurant itself is quite large, with ample parking and a very lush atmosphere. This place is actually famous for its Chinese pastry, and they also offer a tea set with a selection of pastries to choose from.
We love the high ceilings here. The thatched roof is high and beautifully designed, allowing for good ventilation and preventing the space from feeling stuffy. There are also many trees and a large pond at the back.
The food here is delicious. We especially enjoyed the fried chives, which were unlike anything we've had before. They were flat, round pieces, perfectly bite-sized, and fried to a crisp. The dipping sauce was also excellent. We would definitely order them again. For those looking to buy souvenirs before leaving, there is a wide variety of options available, all packaged attractively.
After a satisfying meal, we continued to a dessert spot by the Bang Pakong River, Nawa House. The atmosphere was fantastic, with a riverside view. However, we visited during the afternoon, when the sun was blazing, so we opted to sit inside the restaurant. Nonetheless, an evening visit would likely be delightful.
While we typically don't have high expectations for the taste of pastries in cafes when traveling to different provinces, this particular cafe exceeded our expectations. We were so impressed that we even complimented the staff on the delicious pastries when paying. Therefore, we highly recommend this cafe (and we assure you, this is not a paid endorsement; we genuinely enjoyed the experience).
These are two interesting options for those who are planning to travel to Chachoengsao or have the opportunity to pass by.
These two restaurants are located near Wat Luang Pho Sothon, making it possible to plan a day trip. You can enjoy a meal at one of the restaurants before visiting Wat Luang Pho Sothon to pay respects.
