26 Hip Retro Cafes in the Charoenkrung Road Area
This is the first post on our blog. Let's introduce ourselves. "Wa Ma Du" aims to present interesting places, whether we've seen them on our friends' feeds or passed by on the bus. We just want to check them out and see what they're all about. The first place we'd like to introduce today is a cool restaurant on Charoen Krung Road called 26 Eua Lai Luk Yi Sap Lok. The restaurant is located at Si Phraya Intersection, Charoen Krung Road. How interesting is this restaurant? Let's take a look. P.S. This restaurant also has a Facebook page. You can check it out here: www.facebook.com/26braisedbeef. Coordinates: Si Phraya Intersection Opening hours: Tuesday-Sunday 11:00-22:00
As we arrived late at night, the restaurant was nearing closing time. Typically, this establishment operates from Tuesday to Sunday, between the hours of 11:00 AM and 10:00 PM. Delivery services are also available. The nighttime ambiance is characterized by a profusion of multicolored neon lights, reminiscent of the aesthetics frequently employed in Wong Kar-wai's films. This restaurant shares ownership with the renowned Nhai Soei braised beef eatery located in the Tha Phra area. It serves as a suitable alternative for individuals who are unable to visit Nhai Soei during the daytime.
The restaurant offers both tables and bar seating, catering to individuals, couples, and families alike.

A portion of the restaurant's menu. There's actually another page, which I forgot to photograph, showing an equally wide selection.
The stainless steel containers for tea and condiments looked incredibly cool on the wooden table under the neon lights. Haha!
The order has arrived: braised beef noodle soup. I must say, ordering this dish near closing time was a brilliant move. The beef seems to have been stewed for an exceptionally long time, resulting in an incredibly tender texture that practically melts in your mouth. The broth is equally impressive, boasting a rich aroma of spices and braised beef. The absence of any beefy odor is a testament to the meticulous preparation.
I only ordered one dish because I didn't bring much money with me late at night, so I couldn't go all out. Haha! There are other menus available, including noodles and hot pot dishes.
Served with plain rice, but the plain rice must be ordered separately.
The water in the glass is tea, which is free to refill.
The counter area leads to the kitchen, where food is prepared.
The restaurant's atmosphere at ten o'clock was a bit quiet and lonely, but fortunately, there was another family dining there as well.
This post concludes with a picture of the beautifully lit wall decorations at the restaurant. If you're interested in trying their food, the location is easy to find: it's right at the Si Phraya intersection. If you're unsure about taking a taxi or bus, simply tell the driver to drop you off at The Old Siam. From there, it's just a short walk past one traffic light to reach the Si Phraya intersection. Thank you for reading this far. Stay tuned for my next post, where I'll explore another exciting location.
