... When we are exhausted, we will not walk into the forest.
... At the very least, we will search for comfortable accommodation at an affordable price.
... To repair the parts worn out from hard work, haha ^^

Oakwood Hotel & Residence Sri Racha: A Luxurious Escape in Little Osaka

Living in Pattaya, I often crave a change of scenery without venturing too far. Sriracha, the "city of chili sauce," has always been a familiar destination, offering a quick escape within driving distance.

Previously, I explored the Japanese-style service apartments at Balcony, both Seaside and Courtyard. You can find my reviews here:

  • Balcony Seaside: https://th.readme.me/p/3347
  • Balcony Courtyard: https://th.readme.me/p/6329

Typically, my accommodation choices lean towards budget-friendly options like hostels, homestays, and farmstays. I prioritize scenic views, comfortable rooms, and unique design elements within my limited budget. However, with age comes a desire for occasional indulgence.

After experiencing the luxury of a full-service apartment, I'm hooked. The convenience of on-site amenities like a swimming pool, delicious breakfast, in-room kitchen, onsen, and shuttle service is truly remarkable. It's like living the life of a Japanese housewife accompanying her husband on a business trip to Thailand. Sugoi ne!

After extensive research, I've chosen Oakwood Hotel & Residence Sri Racha for my next getaway. This newly opened property boasts stunning views and a reasonable price point of around 1,xxx baht.

Whether it lives up to expectations remains to be seen, but I'm excited to share my experience soon.

Driving to Si Racha, straight on the Chaiyam Chomphon Road, near the Ko Loi Public Park.

We saw a very tall building, about 50 floors high. This is where we will be staying tonight.

Turning into the parking building, it's clear that it's not 100% complete yet. However, the remaining work doesn't seem too extensive.

There's a lot of parking space here. The spot where I parked on the 2nd floor is great. It has a glass wall, offering a nice view, and it's not enclosed, which is cool.

It's located right across from the floating island.

First, let's check in at the lobby on the 1st floor.

Lobby

The hotel lobby also has a cafe called T2 cafe & Bar.

After checking in, we went up to our room on the 19th floor.

This building has 50 floors, so it's very tall.

This is a studio room with a city view.

The room is a decent size, not too small, not too big.

But the bed is big and I like it, it's wide and comfortable to sleep on.

Fully equipped with kitchen appliances, similar to a typical service apartment, suitable for long-term stays.

Ideal for Japanese professionals working in the area, offering monthly and yearly rental options.

The bathroom is divided into a dry zone, a shower zone, and a bathtub.

Japanese-style toilet. Seeing this toilet makes me want to do my business right now. 555+

It has a water spray for the lower body and a hair dryer. So comfortable.

The room is brand new and appears to have never been used.

We arrived in the evening and decided to go for a swim in the pool. We pressed the elevator button to the 5th floor.

The 5th floor is a hub for entertainment and recreational activities.

It has a swimming pool, a communal bath with an onsen, a fitness center, yoga, a driving range, a children's playroom, and a karaoke room. This is especially catered to Japanese people, as all the recreational activities are in the Japanese style.

The highlight of this place is the infinity pool overlooking the sea of Sriracha.

On the same plane as the floating island.

In addition to this point, there is another spot to sit and watch the birds and trees above.

This is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the stunning panoramic view of the Sriracha coastline.

It's a pity that the sky is a bit cloudy today.

There is a library next door, providing a quiet space to work or read in the cool evening.

A perfect place to work with cool air and beautiful views.

Separate male and female restrooms are located beside the swimming pool.

The bathroom includes a dressing room, lockers, shower rooms, and an onsen pool. (This is the women's bathroom, the men's bathroom should be similar.)

Lockers for storing clothes and belongings while swimming or soaking in the onsen.

Towels are provided for use at the swimming pool. Locker keys can be locked and worn on your wrist.

This room features an onsen bath with milky white water.

However, the temperature is a bit too hot at 41 degrees Celsius. I almost became a hot pot for a sea lion! 555+

Once the temperature was adjusted, it was quite relaxing. However, 39 degrees Celsius would be ideal.

I personally feel that the women's bathroom should have a zone or another layer of partition after the entrance door.

Because it seems a bit too accessible, in case someone is soaking in the onsen or taking a shower without clothes on.

And if a man happens to open the bathroom door by mistake, it wouldn't be okay, right? ^^'

------------------------------------------------------

But let's go down and swim in the pool now. The weather is perfect with the sun setting and the wind blowing.

We're waiting to see if we'll be treated to a beautiful twilight today...

But it looks unlikely with all these clouds.

The swimming pool here is not very deep, approximately 1.50 meters.

Compared to my height, I can still stand with the water level at the same depth throughout the pool.

There is also a children's pool area and a jacuzzi zone with bubbling water for massage.

The sunset is peaceful and quiet.

Sriracha Sea, although it does not have a beach like other areas in Chonburi,

it offers a tranquility that Bangsaen and Pattaya cannot.

Today, our hope of seeing the twilight sky, with its orange, purple, and pink hues, has been dashed.

No problem, let's go with a cool blue, monotone light. It'll look great.

The pool area starts to light up around 6 pm as the sky begins to darken. The warm and beautiful colors of the pool create a pleasant atmosphere.

The swimming pool here closes later than anywhere else, at 10pm.

You can relax by the pool or swim until late at night. It's great.

The starter is fading, the hands are starting to wither. I'll take a shower and then go find some dinner for the seals.

The advantage of having a good location here is that you can go out and buy food and snacks in the neighborhood.

Leaving Oakwood, you will immediately encounter ATARA Mall.

There are some restaurants in the area, including a Maxvalu supermarket that is open 24 hours.

There are also other restaurants scattered around the area within walking distance, so there is no need to drive. This is very convenient.

It's late, I'm going to bed. Before I go to sleep, I turn on the TV to watch.

Huh? What? This is my name? Good night, you big cat. 😴

. . . zzz ZZZ . . .

Good morning . . . Srirachaaaa

It's morning already . . . . The weather is nice, not bad

Woke up early at 6 am because I had to rush back to open the shop in Pattaya again.

But don't worry, breakfast is ready from 5 am onwards.

Come down to the first floor for breakfast at the buffet restaurant, where there is a wide variety of food to choose from.

The design leans towards a Japanese aesthetic, in line with the service apartment style in Sriracha, where the majority of the clientele are Japanese working professionals.

The buffet line offers a wide variety of options, including bread, an egg station, a salad bar, drinks, hot dishes, and even sushi and miso soup.

Overall, the food is good. There is a decent variety of dishes, and the flavors are mild enough to appeal to all ages. However, the sushi is located in an area where the air conditioning blows directly on it, so it may be a bit hard.

Personally, I found most of the dishes to be slightly lukewarm.

The food may not be hot enough because it is not heated in a warm oven or on a tray with water like in the past. Also, customers come down to eat breakfast gradually, not all at once like in hotels with tour groups. If the food is too hot, it will dry out (this is my own thought based on my experience as a chef). In addition, the air conditioning in the buffet area is a bit too strong, which may make the food not as hot as it should be.

After a satisfying meal, let's head up to the swimming pool to enjoy the morning view.

Here's a reflection of the floating island this morning.

Before heading back up to the 5th floor to see the view and the swimming pool again, there was some sunshine today, but it was still cloudy as usual.

It's time to check out and head back to open the stir-fry shop.

Don't worry, it's not far from Sriracha to Pattaya, only about half an hour away. ^^
